Happy Saturday Gamers and Friends and Welcome Back to GamersUnitedGG! Well, it has been a while since I have blogged or uploaded any video game posts. Life has just been busy, but I’m finally balanced enough to get back to blogging a few times a week ( by a few I mean probably 2 times a week for now). This is going to be a wrap up on what’s been keeping me so busy lately and an intro into the new format and upcoming posts I have planned.
Life: So I started dropping off blogging last year around November when NaNoWriMo hit because I was participating in the challenge. NaNoWriMo takes place every November and writers are encouraged to write a novel (50,000 words or more) in a month. A tall task, but I was more prepared this year than I was last year with a proper outline. The story was the continuation of the book I wrote last year (which I will publish this year). The Destiny Series follows fictitious rulers in 16th Century Europe and the inaugural book A Diary of Destiny takes place between the sacred pages of a nobleman’s bastard grandson, appointed squire to the King of Tamlonia. Gabriel recounts the events taking place as the King’s Daughter, Princess Ariana has become of age to marry. I’ve had a great time writing this series and look to continue it with book 3.
Work: Work has been busy lately so I’m picking up overtime to save up for my trip in April. Along with my normal job assisting Travel Agents, I’ve started selling Scentsy on the side as well. Scentsy is wax melts, warmers and different product fragrances. This is my 3rd month and it’s a really fun way to make that extra money. I always have my Scentsy Kit with me with testers, catalogs and my beautiful Vega the Unicorn Scentsy Buddy that smells amazing. Never heard of Scentsy, ask me questions! www.WhiffablesByLuna.com
I am participating in the Tracking Shells collaboration over on Normal Happenings so my post about my fondest Mario Kart memories will be released soon.
I’ve been reading the Harry Potter books (for the 1st time) and I have a post or 2 I want to write. The first will be: Which Hogwarts House Should They Really Be In? I’m really excited about this post, should be completed next week
Even though I haven’t been blogging, I have been playing video games way more than last year. I have my first impressions of Lego Harry Potter, I still have a Red Dead Redemption 2 post and new content with the Nintendo Switch.
Bookclub: My co-workers and I have started a bookclub in January and I plan to write about the 3 books we have already read.
Question of the Month: Kim and Later Levels hosts the gaming questions of the month. I haven’t participated in a few months but I plan on catching up and answering each question since January (because they seem to be connected). I encourage you to also join in on the fun and meet new bloggers by visiting http://www.LaterLevels.com

Some exciting posts coming up soon and I’m happy to have the time to balance blogging and life again. What have you been up to? Playing any new games? Watching any new shows? Let’s talk!
Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Holidays all! The end of the year is quickly approaching and between the Holiday Shopping and mindless hours in new video games, I am unable to properly oversee or promote the Community Game of the Year event. So we are switching things up! If you would like to nominate a game you can do so by replying to this post or you can still write your post on why you are nominating the game as your personal Game of the Year!
Power Up Players for a community collaboration! God of War took home 2018’s Game of the Year and it got me thinking about the games that I’ve played this year. 2018 has been a great year in gaming for me personally, from the long awaited release of Red Dead Redemption 2, a nostalgic Super Mario Party, to the first Call of Duty game that I’ve wanted to play in years. The end of the year is quickly approaching and I want to know what is the Community’s Game of The Year!
Normally, I would ask what is your favorite game that has released this year, but since many of us gamers are not able to play ALL of the new games that we would like, I’ve decided to open this up to ANY video game that you have played this year. Your blog post can be as creative as you like while giving praise to the video game that is your personal Game of The Year.
How to Participate:
To Participate, write a post on a video game that you have played this year ( does not need to have been released this year) on why you nominate this game as your personal Game of the Year. Link back to this post so that I can read and tally everyone’s votes.
Your entry should be posted by December 29th so that I can tally the votes and compose the ending results.
On December 31st, I will release the Community’s Game of the Year post highlighting everyone’s post and vote and revealing which games the community voted for!
Have a great December and I look forward to reading the video game that you pick as your Game of the Year!
Happy Monday and welcome to the semi-finals of Gamers House Season 1! On Friday the game was over for Marcus Fenix and Sonya Blade, who were voted out by the Players. Bowser and Spyro were safe for elimination and this week, the 2 will get to select the teams for Dodgeball! We are down to 8 Players so there will be 2 teams of 4, where the losing team will be up for elimination and 2 Players will be eliminated. This elimination will take place on Wednesday evening. From there the final 4 will be selected via the Twitter Vote. The 2 Contestants with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated on a special Saturday Elimination post. Let’s get to Dodgeball!
**Cue The Host**
Welcome Players to the second to the last challenge to find out who will be crown the Best Video Game Character! Today’s challenge is a good old fashion game of dodgeball where Players will launch a ball at the opposing team. If a Player is hit by the ball, they are out for that round, if a player catches a thrown ball, the Player that threw the ball is out. This will be a best of 3 so the team to win 2 rounds will be safe from this first elimination. Bowser, Spyro what are the teams?
Red Team Blue Team Bowser Lightning SpyroPeppy Peach Jensen Snake Zelda
The teams will take a moment to strategize and we will send it down to our news crew Luna and Lakitu!
Luna:Thank you Professor. This is coming down to the wire as the contestants have clearly drawn the line in the sand for the Players that are teaming up. I have to say that I would give the edge to the Blue Team. Lightning with her movement, Jensen with his abilities and Peppy… well Peppy may be the weak link here. On the other side we have a large mass Bowser who may be an early target. I can see Spyro and Snake excelling in this challenge. Lakitu has provided us with ball cams to see the action straight on. Looks like everyone is ready..
The Blue team starts with concerted efforts to get Bowser out. After 3 balls are thrown his way Bowser is the first out. He doesn’t sit on the bench alone as Peppy was also hit by Spyro who is avoiding the balls with quick flight maneuvers. Lightning takes out snake with a fast throw an dJensen silences Peach. That leaves Spyro for the Red team and Lightning, Jensen and Zelda for the blue. It was a hard fought effort but Spyro finally falls giving Blue Team the first win.
In round 2 the Red team comes out blazing with a game plan and targets Lightning straight off the back. Lightning put up a great fight hitting the balls with the ball in her hand and dodging with elegance and grace. Snake threw a curveball and Lightning was out. During the commotion Peppy was able to strike Spyro out. Peach struck out zelda and Jensen caught the ball the Bowser threw leaving Peach vs Jensen and Peppy. Peach avoided the attacks and hit Peppy in the nose. The winner of round 2 is… Jensen!
That’s it, 2 wins to the Blue Team which means that the Red Team have lost and are now up for elimination.
That was a great match! Tune in to Twitter this afternoon to vote to save 2 Players. The other 2 will be eliminated from the competition. The Twitter poll will be up until Wednesday Morning! Tune in Wednesday evening for the elimination post!
Happy Monday Players! We are 2 episodes away from crowning the Video Game Champion! Today’s challenge will put the Players in the driver’s seat of their own destinies. We are having an old fashion derby dash! Players will be provided with our state of the art go karts and will race to the finish line. The course us in Mushroom Kingdom so this challenge will be on location! Pack your bags!
Peach:Snake, I need you to find out more information about tomorrow’s challenge. We are 2 weeks away from the finale and we need to have an edge as there will be multiple eliminations this week.
Snake:*Rustles in the bushes*
Peach:Also, make sure you are prepared. I have a feeling that we will need to be on teams for this challenge and you’re my teammate.
**Cue The Host**
“Good morning Players! In today’s challenge you will utilize your team work, accuracy and driving skills, but there’s a problem. We only have 5 cars. This means you will pair up and take turns driving. What will the passenger do you ask? That’s simple, the passenger will try and detour (see what I did there) the competition using state of the art obstacles. It’s a good ole fashioned Mario Kart event! Take a moment and select your teams.”
Now for the challenge. When Shy Guy waves his flag, run to the garage, select your vehicle and race to checkpoint#1. At this checkpoint, please grab 1 bag per team. These bags will contain all of your items that can be used during the race. Supply management will be essential here as the Players will only be able to use the items in the bag 1 time. I’m sending you down to Luna and Lakitu for the play by play!
Luna:“Thank you Professor! Lakitu and I are making sure we have the best footage for today’s episode so a dashboard camera has been placed in each of the Players vehicles. We also have out own Nimbus cloud to fly over the action and catch all of the details! The Players are just about ready to begin so let’s get rolling.
** Cue Shy Guy**
Players are you ready?…. Set….. Go!
Luna: “ And we’re off! Lightning and Zelda take a slight lead with their petal to the metal. The Players will need to swap at the half-way checkpoint. Our drivers for the first leg are Zelda, Bowser, Sonya, Peach and Jensen which leaves our passengers as Spyro, Lightning, Marcus, Snake and Peppy. Lightning throws the first punch by hitting all competitors with the Lightning Bolt shock giving her and partner Zelda a lead.
The plan was a little flawed as 3 teams through their blue shells to hit the team and slow them down with the rest of the pack. Spyro and Bowser use the strong arm tactics to swerve Marcus and Sonya off of the road. It wasn’t as easy as Bowser thought, but eventually the 2 went spinning as if they’d ran over a banana.
Jensen and Peppy are very skilled in avoiding the accidents on the road but Peppy refuses to throw any items at his competitor. We drop beside the car to talk to Peppy and this is what he had to say..
Luna:Hey Peppy, why aren’t you attacking the other competitors?
Peppy:This is Peppy. All Systems go!
Luna:Yes, well we are getting to the end of the competition, don’t you want to win?
Peppy: It’s quiet… too quiet… be careful, it’s a trap
Luna:Okayyy??? Peppy do you want to win?
Peppy:Don’t go too fast Falco!
Welp, there you have it. Peppy is in for a cruisin but not for a bruisin. I’d say Jensen and Peppy have a slim chance here. Jensen is driving expertly but we are almost at the checkpoint where our Players will switch positions.
We are approaching the checkpoint where the competitors will now switch positions. Our drivers are now Spyro, Lightning, Marcus, Snake and Peppy and the passengers are Zelda, Bowser, Sonya, Peach and Jensen. The team of Peach and Snake were first to switch, followed by Lightning & Zelda, Jensen & Peppy, Bowser & Spyro and Marcus & Sonya. During the transition, Bowser chucked a red shell at Lightning and Zelda spinning them out while Peach and Snake take a quick lead.
Peppy:I’m not too crazy about those guys.
The players are rounding the final curve when all of the items start to fly. Each team is hitting other teams to slow or disorient them but surprisingly, no one targets Peppy. Jensen is throwing out shells left and right with precise accuracy, but there are no return shots to their kart.
Peppy:Slippy’s not such a screw up after all!
Right Peppy, right. The final red shell is tossed to blast Marcus and Sonya off base and the winners are…. JENSEN AND PEPPY! Somehow that old hare was able to avoid being hit and drive to the finish. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised since he has decades of flying ships under his belt. The race order is:
Jensen & Peppy
Peach & Snake
Lightning & Zelda
Bowser & Spyro
Marcus & Sonya
What a race! Now for the first of multiple eliminations this week. The Twitter vote will go up today and will last 24 hours. 1 TEAM will be eliminated on Wednesday. That’s right, we are eliminating an entire team. Check out the Twitter poll to vote to save your favorite team and this goes without saying but Jensen and Peppy are safe from THIS elimination. See you folks on Wednesday for the first elimination of the week!
Welcome back to Gamers House! This past weekend was one of the more shocking eliminations where 4 heavy hitters were eliminated. Masterchief, Kratos, Aloy and Turok all turned off their consoles and exited the competition, orchestrated by a devious Princess Peach. What will happen this week?
** Cue The Host**
Prof Oak: Well that was an interesting elimination. It seems like you are all playing to win at this point and I like it! This week our MVPs Nemesis and Sonya Blade will select teams to compete in a Diner Dash! Cooking games have been a craze since mobile gaming started entering the game. We pay homage to these games by designing a cooking challenge. Here’s how it will work:
Players will select teammates
Players will create signature dishes to serve
Players can only use ingredients that their team has won in an eating challenge!
Best Team Service wins!
This is going to be a challenge of eating, cooking and serving dishes to a hungry crowd or Goombas and Malboros. It’s going to be an old fashioned school yard pick. We flipped coins and Sonya won first pick.
First picked was Zelda. Sonya then chose Jensen, Peach, Marcus Fenix and Bowser
First Pick was Spyro. Nemesis then chose Shadow, Lightning, Snake and was left with Peppy
Prof Oak:Luna, how did our captains do with the team selection?
Luna:The teams seem evenly matched. Zelda as #1 overall is a great pick since we can assume we will be using the Hyrule Castle Kitchen. Peach and Bowser have played many cooking challenges due to the Mario Party Franchise so they should fair well. As for Marcus Fenix and Jensen, I’m not sure what culinary prowess they can add at the moment.
For Team Nemesis Spyro is a surprising choice until I think about him using his fire breathing to help steady the temperature of the food. Maybe Shadow was chosen to quickly grab ingredients and does Lightning cook? I can’t imagine seeing her in an apron. I would have to give the advantage to Team Sonya right off the back, however, there is the element of obtaining the ingredients.
We have our teams and now for the challenge. Teams will need to feed as many Goombas and Malboros as they can before time runs out. Then the diners will vote for the dish they like the best. The team who wins is safe from elimination and the team that loses will ALL be up for elimination. This week the elimination is completely up to the Twitter Instant Save. The 2 Players with the least number of votes will be eliminated.
Team Sonya came straight out the gate with the fire… literally. Bowser is in the kitchen lighting the ovens. Zelda showed everyone where the baking utensils are and is using her magic to help jump start the appliances. The team is going to be making a cake to feed to our hungry guests.
Team Nemesis after a rocky start seem to have some type of plan together. They will be making a steak and potatoes dish to serve to the guests. The first round of ingredients is up. Team Nemesis can STEAL the eggs needed for Team Sonya’s dish by beating them in an eating challenge. On the flip side Team Sonya can STEAL Team Nemesis potatoes for their savory dish.
The first team to eat 3 whole pies will get to Steal the other teams items and continue their cooking normally. Bowser and Nemesis are going head to head again to see who can eat the most pies, while the remaining cast watch in anticipation. After 10 minutes of chomping, chewing and stewing, Bowser becomes victorious and is able to steal the potatoes from Team Nemesis. Now they will have to come up with a different side item to compliment their Steak. There’s only 15 minutes left to cook so they better hurry.
Spyro and Shadow are making a great team making sure the Steaks are cooked to the perfect temperature. Peppy comes up with a great idea to serve carrots and peas with the steak. Lightning grabs the old Hare and they both head to the garden to pick the vegetables fresh. Bowser and Peach are handling the baking of the cake. Peach tempers the dish while the big fella turns up the heat. It’s a perfect team duo. When the cake is perfectly cooked, Zelda and Sonya start icing and decorating the cake with garnishes.
It’s Time for Service!
Lightning and Peppy make it back in time with the vegetables. As Peppy is babbling, Lightning throws the carrots to shadow.
Lightning:“ Hey, Hedgehog. Prep and peel these carrots now!”
Shadow acknowledges and speeds around the kitchen making the carrots pristine.
Peppy:“ It’s up to you fox!” Peppy yells while pointing at Spyro. A confused Spyro takes his lead and fires up the grill. The carrots are seasoned with a sweet glaze and cooked until they’re soft and ready for service.
On Team Sonya, Marcus and Jensen quickly prepare the plates for service. It all comes down to the wire but both teams created dishes to be served. All that’s left now is for the Goombas and Malboros to judge. The plates are distributed to our guests as they chomp down. Each guest has a Team Sonya ballot and a Team Nemesis ballot. After 10 minutes of eating, the diners cast their votes for the team with the best dish.
*Cue The Host*
That was an intense match, but it’s now time to crown our winner. Remember, the winning team will ALL be safe for elimination, placing the losing team in danger of going home. The votes are tallied and our winning team is….. TEAM SONYA!
That means Nemesis, Peppy, Spyro, Shadow, Lightning and Snake. 2 Players will be eliminated this week and it’s completely up to Twitter!
There you have it. If you want to save one of the contestants from elimination, vote on the Twitter instant save poll starting Tomorrow at 10:30am EST! Tune in Friday to see who will be eliminated from Gamers House
Welcome back to Purge week on Gamers House. This week’s challenge was a test in arcade fighting prowess where our contestants battled against 3 fighting game characters. After a grueling tournament style day, we ended up with a tie for MVP. This week both Sonya Blade and Nemesis are the MVP’s and will wield important power during the elimination, but first, let’s see who was saved by the Twitter Instant Save Vote!
Since it is Purge week there are 8 contestants up for elimination and we will be losing 4 Players today. The Twitter vote will save 2 Players and in a surprising twist, both Sonya and Nemesis will pick 1 Player each to save! The remaining Players will end their game here.
In the first vote we have Jensen, Shadow, Masterchief and Turok. The Player safe from elimination is….. Jensen!
In the second vote we have Aloy, Spyro, Kratos and Peppy. The Player Safe from elimination is…Peppy Hare!
Now before we get the decisions on Nemesis and Sonya, let’s check in with Luna and Lakitu to see what has happened over the week!
Luna: Thanks Professor! Lakitu and I have been staying at Hyrule Castle looking for any footage that we could use to boost the ratings. This week Players have been strategizing and plotting alliances and we have most of the encounters on film! Lakitu, start up the video…
Peach:Did you find out anything useful?
Snake:*Rustles in the bush* Yes. We already knew that Aloy and Turok were working together. What we didn’t know is that Kratos is on a double alliance. He is working with both Aloy and Turok AND Marcus and Masterchief.
Peach:I see. Did you find out who is loyal to Zelda.
Snake:I did your highness. It seems that if there were a vote to save you or Zelda, many would save Zelda.
Snake:Yea… something about you being a snob. Zelda’s nice, people like that.
Peach:Was there anyone loyal to me?
Snake:There was. Bowser, Spyro and Nemesis all put your name down to save. Those are our allies.
Peach: I see. Let me have a little talk with Nemesis before elimination.
Luna:There you have it. Some intel into alliances that could be forming.
Prof Oak:Luna, can you tell me how Snake has possibly avoided being on the chopping block this week after last week’s scandal?
Luna:Sorry Oak, the challenge depicted who was up for elimination this week along with a secret vote. I guess Snake did I decent job and has kept his head down because no one voted for him.
*Lakitu flies in with more footage…*
Luna:Wait a second. Roll the footage on camera 3 please.
Masterchief:So if we have to vote this week we are agreed on Snake right?
Marcus:Agreed. He cheated the system so he should naturally be voted in.
Peach:Gentlemen. I think that we are missing an opportunity here. Why vote in Snake now, when we can get a major player out?
Marcus:What are you talking about Princess?
Peach:It has come to my attention that your buddy Kratos has been shifting alliances.
Masterchief:He has? With who?
Peach:My sources tell me that Kratos is in an alliance with Aly and Turok with an aim to take you guys out. They’re upset from the 1st challenge where you swooped in and won. Turok is determined to make you guys pay.
Marcus:That…. I knew he was being too nice about the whole situation.
Masterchief:So they are voting for who?
Peach:I’m not sure on that. All I know is that it will probably be one of you two if not both.
Marcus:Hmmm… Then we should vote both Aloy and Turok in. Peach… are you with us?
Peach:I am. Aloy rubs me the wrong way so I shall vote for her.
Masterchief:Right! Marcus and I will take Kratos and Turok. We shall battle this out in elimination.
Peach: Goodluck boys. I would hate to see you leave.
Marcus:Thanks Princess. Talk to you soon
**Peach walks out the room and her dainty smile turns into an evil grin.**
Luna:Wow! Looks like Peach kept up her end of the bargain. Now we have some heavy hitters in the elimination on Purge week.
Prof Oak:Ah, I see. Let’s get the decisions from our MVPs. Sonya Blade. Who are you saving from elimination?
Sonya:I am saving Shadow!
Prof Oak:Now Nemesis, you are the last vote. Who are you saving from elimination?
Nemesis: … Starssssss
Nemesis:Starssss *Points to Spyro*
Pro Oak:There you have it, Spyro and Shadow are safe along with Jensen and Peppy. This ends the game for Masterchief, Turok, Aloy and Kratos 4 heavy hitters that many placed in the top 5! Wow. No one seen this coming, but somehow we lose 4 great Players and their games are over. Thank you for playing!
Next week we will have a staple event where the Players should come hungry. We are nearing the end of the Gamers House with 12 Players left. There are 2 more weeks left in Gamers House so this should be a doozie. See you on Monday at 10:30am EST.
Welcome everyone to the 2nd week elimination on Season 1 of Gamers House! During this week’s challenge our Players needed to prove their skills in a Triathlon A LA The Legend of Zelda where 3 activities tested their Climbing, Riding and Archery Skills. After 9 grueling heats of head to head action, the points were tallied and our winner is none other than Turok! Turok has been MVP and has moved into the MVP room. Let’s see which Players are up for elimination this week:
During the Twitter Instant Save Vote we had a little mix up as Snake was not showing on the Instant Save which mean no one had the chance to vote for him. This will change things up with the elimination this week but first let’s see a confessional post from one of the Players not up for elimination.
Confessional Solid Snake:
There was no reason for me to be up for elimination this week, especially with how well I did in the Triathlon. Security is pretty lax here so I took it upon myself to even the odds. These elimination posts are pre-scheduled and for some reason, the Twitter vote didn’t post on time. I offered to look at the problem with the computer and they really let me in unattended. So I removed my name from the elimination results and slithered back under my box in the corner of the room. When the mistake was spotted, it was too late. Luna and the Producers said they couldn’t place me in the elimination now as it would be an unfair advantage. So pretty much I crafted my own fate and now I get to watch these 4 in a brutal double elimination.
So my brilliant idea in espionage has taken a turn. Everyone is giving me the stink eye and I’m not in much conversation about ANYTHING this week. At dinner, Bowser and Nemesis held each other back from leaping across the table at me. No matter, I was ready with a horse tranquilizer that was sure to take either of the 2 down, but it’s still a little eerie. The Princesses passed me in the hall and turned their noses at me. I’m a pirarah in this house. I wanted to gauge exactly how mad the house was so I decided to hide in a bush this time. All the kids are talking about the bushes in Fortnite and I overheard more than I would want to hear.
Marcus:That Snake is a slippery one. Yea we are getting what we want with a higher chance that Nemesis will be eliminated, but we need to watch what he does from now on.
Kratos:It doesn’t matter Marcus. That’s the problem with you humans, you care too much about what people think. He did what was best for him and it isn’t necessarily against the rules.
Marcus:Bowser and the others up for elimination would disagree. It’s a form of cheating if you will. Bending the rules as it is.
Kratos:In any case Snake has placed a target on his back for the remainder of his life in the game. We can get rid of a huge threat or 2 with this elimination. I’d say we owe him a drink.
Well not everyone is upset with what I did. Maybe next week will look up. One thing is for sure, I really need to win the challenge next week by any means necessary. Time to start looking for an alliance.
Confessional Princess Peach:
I’m recovering well after last week’s surprise of Princess Zelda entering the house. My new plan is to get rid of her as quickly as possible and this week’s elimination may help set up for her downfall next week. I need to make sure that I can save Bowser and Duke Nukem to pull it off. The antics of Snake may be of great use to me so I need to speak with him alone.
Peach:Everyone’s giving you the cold shoulder.
Snake:*Silence from the bush*
Peach: I know you’re in there Snake. It’s fine if you don’t speak, less suspicious, but I do have a proposition for you.
Snake: *Rustling in the bushes*
Peach:I’ll take that as your undivided attention. This game still has a lot of players in it which can only mean that the last few weeks will start crashing down like an avalanche. We need to start forming alliances and you are just the man I need to have on my team. There’s already an alliance of Turok and Aloy and another with Marcus, Masterchief and Kratos. I’m not sure how many more are out there but that’s what I need you to find out.
Snake: *Rustling continues*
Peach:Here’s my deal. I will keep the heat off of you with my influence. All I need is for you to find out who is loyal to who in the house. I would also love if you could find out who is loyal to Zelda. Do this and I can bring you with me to the end. Do we have a deal?
Snake: * A leaf is expounded from the bush in the shape of a Y*
Peach:Thank you for your service. We will meet again next week.
*Cue The Host*
“Welcome back to the elimination week 2 on Gamers House! This week the challengers competed in the Triathlon that pays homage to RPG games like The Legend of Zelda and Turok reigned supreme as the MVP. Turok is immune from elimination and he will have an advantage in next week’s’ challenge. Now on to the elimination. It will be a double elimination this week and with the antics of Snake he is no longer on the chopping block.
The Twitter Instant Save Vote Winner is:
“King Koopa will NOT be eliminated this week and can rest up for next week’s challenge. That leaves Diddy, Nemesis and Duke Nukem up for elimination. The cast were asked to vote for save 1 person and the character with the most votes will be saved and moves on to next week. Shy Guy, let’s tally the votes please:
Peach – Duke Nukem
Kratos – Diddy Kong
Shadow – Diddy Kong
Snake – Nemesis
Spyro – Nemesis
Zelda – Diddy Kong
Jensen – Diddy Kong
Marcus – Diddy Kong
Sonya – Nemesis
Peppy – Nemesis
Masterchief – Nemesis
Lightning – Nemesis
These votes are kept secret from the Players, but the audience can see who voted to save which contestant.
The last Player saved is… Nemesis!
In a shocking twist, Nemesis is spared from elimination this week. This means that Diddy Kong and Duke Nukem games are over. Thank you for participating guys.
The competition is heating up and with hot heads like Bowser and Nemesis back in the house, how will the remaining Players stay in the game? Tune in Monday for Episode 3 of Gamers House!
Welcome to week 2 of the Gamers House! Last week the game was over for Orchid Leaving 18 contestants in the running for the Best Video Game Character trophy. In a twist, the votes casted by each contestant was revealed. How will Diddy Kong and Nemesis deal with knowing exactly who tried to vote them off? We will find out this week on Gamers House!
My name is Luna and I have been following the contestants around all weekend. Many of the characters that voted for Nemesis have steered clear of the giant as not to anger him. Diddy Kong has changed his initial social game and now sticks with his original Red Team members, with the exception of Spyro.
**Cue The Host**
“Oh, Hi again Contestants! That was a great opening week and we are happy to see you all in good spirits. As you may know, I am a Pokemon Research Professor and one of my favorite past times is to set up trainers with companions to help them on their journey. These companions will aid the trainer and get them out of sticky situations should a wild encounter with a Pokemon arise. For this week’s challenge, you too will be teaming up with a companion to help you through the task.”
The housemates seem to be upright listening to the Professor Speak.
Duke: Well get to it you quack. What is the challenge this week and when do I get to pound someone’s face in?
Prof Oak:“That’s a great question. There will be no punching this week, but the challenge will be our version of a TRIATHLON! Contestants will be given Chaos to help complete the tasks. What are these tasks? We will test your skills in Climbing, Riding and Archery. Each round will award points and the contestant with the most points at the end of all 3 tasks will be a winner. Don’t worry, if there is a tie, we do have a tiebreaker in mind.
Climbing – We have built an obstacle course that will test your climbing abilities through
Riding– Contestants will hop on a mount and ride through a course collecting as many rings as they can.
Archery – Using an elemental bow, you must shoot the different targets on the field as quickly as possible. Points are awarded by position of the arrow and the number of targets shot.
Masterchief! As MVP from last week you have the advantage of choosing the companion for each contestant AND since this challenge will be competed head to head, you can choose the match ups and the order in which each contestant will compete. Please have you decision ready by tomorrow morning.
Have a good night’s rest competitors, tomorrow will be a doozie.
Masterchief has chosen today’s lineup and order for the challenge. It is as follows:
Princess Peach vs Zelda
Bowser vs Nemesis
Spyro vs Shadow
Jensen vs Snake
Kratos vs Marcus Fenix
Duke Nukem – Sonya Blade
Diddy Kong vs Peppy
Masterchief vs Turok
Lightning vs Aloy
The first matchup will be the battle of the Princesses. Peach will take on Zelda and both will have a Chao as their companion. You have minutes to strategize and your heat will begin.
Each companion will have a downfall that comes with their help. Not only do the competitors need to gain the most points, but they have to keep their companion in check. The Chao is by far the easier of the companions and only require constant attention. Which Princess will use their Chao correctly?
Peach and Zelda were neck in neck climbing over the various obstacles however, Zelda pulled ahead right at the end. Peach had to tend to her Chao who is seemingly afraid of heights and wouldn’t move at one point. When Zelda was climbing she held her Chao in a sling that was pressed against her chest. It shielded the Chao from looking down. During the riding phase Zelda took an early lead but Peach pulled off some impressive jumps over the hurdles. Peach held her Chao on her lap while Zelda placed the Chao bare skinned on the horse. After a few bumps her Chao was screaming and squirming to get off. She missed the next 2 jumps. In the final challenge Peach beamed most of her opponents with direct hits. Guess all that time in Mario Party Paid off. Zelda was impressive shooting each of her targets quickly and using the Chao to hand her the arrows to reload quickly.
Bowser vs Nemesis had to be the most intense match of the night. Both competitors have tempers and they were letting them flare on the course. During the climbing phase both contestants growled and snarled at each other. Nemesis was so distracted by Bowser that he hit his head on the top of the cliff. During the riding challenge both mounts stumbled over and the contestants had to finish on foot. Nemesis had the advantage here with his athletic abilities surpassing that of Bowser. In Archery many of the targets were missed because each contestant fired at the other. Both ended the triathlon with arrows stuck on their person. The oddest part of the match. Both contestants forgot to bring their Chao and had to do it all over again!
This heat was an interesting one. Both Spyro and Shadow used their strengths to their advantage. During the climbing phase, Shadow was the first to the top by a few seconds. The riding phase was contested heavily by Spyro who used his wings to temper and steady his mount. The archery phase seemed evenly matched between the 2. Both handled their Chaos perfectly.
Jensen vs Snake was a very evenly matched heat. During climbing the backgrounds of both competitors came through with each posting the fastest time of all of the heats so far. During the rding phase, Jensen seemed more equipped to handle his mount and edged a lead. During archery Jensen pulled out another impressive performance, must not have been his first time.
Kratos and Marcus is the match that the other contestants are watching closely. Both are leaders in their own right and both contestants have a tough exterior. Marcus was surprisingly overpowered on the climbing, but what else can you expect from a demigod. Kratos easily scaled the big mountain while using his companion to toss rocks at the persistent Fenix. During the riding challenge Marcus fought hard but was still out done by the Olympian. Archery is where the former Gear pulled his act together and rivaled Kratos with his fast reaction times and keen accuracy.
Marcus: Compliments of the Torque Bow!
Duke Nukem seemed like an odd match-up until Sonya took off up the mountain. Her training attire had the bad boy of doom seemingly hypnotized and she was able to scale the mountain minutes before Duke. Aware of her advantages, Sonya seemed to lean a bit more forward during her horse riding. Sensing he was losing, Duke snapped out of it and wrestled with his horse to put up a fast and clean time. During archery, Duke was focused on one thing… winning. He quickly shot at the targets taking off a head here, an arm there. He was putting on a clinic… yet Sonya came out swinging as well. Without hesitation she reloaded her bow and hit the targets just above center.
The oddest heat of the day was between Peppy and Diddy. Peppy shouted out nonsense for 5 minutes at the start of the climb that had Diddy scratching his head. Coincidence or ingenious plan. As expected Diddy ascended to the top of the mountain before Peppy could get 5 feet off of the ground. Diddy posted the fastest time of the night, even with the slow start. During the riding competition the clumsy Peppy wobbled back and forth on his mount and even rode backwards. Diddy was too distracted by Peppy’s antics to see the last hurdle that was clipped and fell to the floor. With the penalty, somehow Peppy pulled out the win. During archery the old rabbit must have remembered days in his youth among the starcraft because he was talking to Starfox the entire time. Diddy tried his best to keep up but this event in accuracy and shooting was the rabbits forte’. He knew the course front and back and sinked arrows consistently in the heart of each target.
Our MVP Masterchief took on former captain of the red team Turok. Both contestants battled hard on the climbing phase but without the use of zero gravity Chief could not keep up with Turok. During the riding phase both contestants decided to sit their Chaos on their laps while completing the hurdles. Both did so with grace and skill but Turok came out on top again. In the final archery Challenge we expected Chief to win, but Turok’s experience excelled and he took the match 3-0.
Lightning vs Aloy was the last match of the night and boy did they put on a show. Both ladies excelled at the climbing challenge matching grit for grit. On the riding challenge Aloy took the lead but Lightning caught up when she directed her Chao to throw mud at her opponent. In Archery Aloy was the victor. Lightning was right behind her with 3 pts separating them.
The Winner of this week’s challenge is….
Turok used his known survival skills to totally crush the challenge. He didn’t put up the fastest time in the challenge but he was perfect in archery and had the fastest time on the riding challenge. This week Turok will have the MVP perks and he is safe from elimination.
There will be 5 Contestants up for elimination this week. This week 2 contestants will be eliminated and only 1 will be saved by the Twitter Vote. The 5 Contestants up for elimination are:
We are less than a week away from the premier of the Video Game Reality House Season 1, set to take place on Monday October 1st. After all of the interviews and video game characters looking to make a name for themselves, we have narrowed down our competitors and today, they will be revealed. As an added bonus, we have some of the interviews from characters that were rejected.
Luigi – So Mario was too busy for the show. When Luigi heard the plumber would not be able to attend, he graciously offered to take his place. The problem is that Luigi’s interview was BORING! Anything he talked about revolved around Mario and pasta. We don’t want the other contestants to fall asleep so we had to decline his interest. Don’t worry, we offered him a role on the production team instead.
Doomguy- The interview with the Doomguy was umm… interesting. He didn’t speak at all and damaged our offices in the process. During out interview Doomguy would pull out his gun and shoot at the monsters that somehow got past our security protocols. Our location is Hyrule Castle, I can’t imagine returning it to the royal family with holes in the walls.
Niko Bellic – See we had high hopes for Niko but during his interview his bad boy persona turned out to be a little much. We have the safety of the contestants to think about. It didn’t help either that after Niko’s interview a few company vehicles and electronics went missing. He’s too much of a liability to have on hand and quite frankly, he scares me. What happens if her gets eliminated.. I’m not going to be the one to tell him.
Pac Man- Probably one of the saddest rejections was for Pacman. He wasn’t invited to interview but somehow he caught wind of the show and demand an interview. Pacman is trying to revive his career and become relatable for the new generation of gamers. The problem is that Pacman really doesn’t have any abilities to help him in this contest, other than his insatiable hunger. A silver lining, we asked Pacman to come back next year with a few of his Ghost friends. That would make an interesting show.
These are the characters that will be entering the house on Monday. Tune in to read Episode 1 where our first challenge will allow the house guests to get to know each other better. Don’t forget, you will be able to participate by posting why your favorite character should advance to the next round and by voting on Twitter for the Instant Save on Wednesday Next Week!
