I’m Back and Upcoming Posts!

Happy Saturday Gamers and Friends and Welcome Back to GamersUnitedGG! Well, it has been a while since I have blogged or uploaded any video game posts. Life has just been busy, but I’m finally balanced enough to get back to blogging a few times a week ( by a few I mean probably 2 times a week for now). This is going to be a wrap up on what’s been keeping me so busy lately and an intro into the new format and upcoming posts I have planned.

Life: So I started dropping off blogging last year around November when NaNoWriMo hit because I was participating in the challenge. NaNoWriMo takes place every November and writers are encouraged to write a novel (50,000 words or more) in a month. A tall task, but I was more prepared this year than I was last year with a proper outline. The story was the continuation of the book I wrote last year (which I will publish this year).  The Destiny Series follows fictitious rulers in 16th Century Europe and the inaugural book A Diary of Destiny takes place between the sacred pages of a nobleman’s bastard grandson, appointed squire to the King of Tamlonia. Gabriel recounts the events taking place as the King’s Daughter, Princess Ariana has become of age to marry. I’ve had a great time writing this series and look to continue it with book 3.

Work: Work has been busy lately so I’m picking up overtime to save up for my trip in April. Along with my normal job assisting Travel Agents, I’ve started selling Scentsy on the side as well. Scentsy is wax melts, warmers and different product fragrances. This is my 3rd month and it’s a really fun way to make that extra money. I always have my Scentsy Kit with me with testers, catalogs and my beautiful Vega the Unicorn Scentsy Buddy that smells amazing. Never heard of Scentsy, ask me questions!    www.WhiffablesByLuna.com

Upcoming Posts:

  • I am participating in the Tracking Shells collaboration over on Normal Happenings so my post about my fondest Mario Kart memories will be released soon.
  • I’ve been reading the Harry Potter books (for the 1st time) and I have a post or 2 I want to write. The first will be: Which Hogwarts House Should They Really Be In?  I’m really excited about this post, should be completed next week
  • Even though I haven’t been blogging, I have been playing video games way more than last year. I have my first impressions of Lego Harry Potter, I still have a Red Dead Redemption 2 post and new content with the Nintendo Switch.
  • Bookclub: My co-workers and I have started a bookclub in January and I plan to write about the 3 books we have already read.
  • Question of the Month: Kim and Later Levels hosts the gaming questions of the month. I haven’t participated in a few months but I plan on catching up and answering each question since January (because they seem to be connected). I encourage you to also join in on the fun and meet new bloggers by visiting http://www.LaterLevels.com
  • Captain Marvel Movie Review
  • Game of Thrones Countdown

Some exciting posts coming up soon and I’m happy to have the time to balance blogging and life again. What have you been up to? Playing any new games? Watching any new shows? Let’s talk!

Update, Happy April and Thank You!

Happy Easter Novas, Players and Friends! March has passed us by and now we are entering my favorite month (can you guess why?). At the end of this month I will be celebrating my birthday and I’m super happy and blessed to have made it this far in life. Today’s post will be a brief update and announcement on what will be happening in April!

Firstly, THANK YOU for 600+ Followers!

Thank you.

I know we hit this goal a while a go in March, but as life throws you a mess of things, you tend to start something and completely forget to post it. I dropped the ball but I am eternally grateful. So why has my life been extraordinarily busy lately? Probably my resolution to get out more and experience different things. I’ve had myweekend booked since my trip in February with wonky activities like “Curling” rofl or this weekend’s “Renaissance Faire.” I’ve also completed my first editing pass in my novel. It’s super exciting to have made it this far and hopefully I can have the book published. It’s been exciting but I miss having a consistent blogging schedule so I’m going to make one for 3 posts a week right now. Let’s quickly recap our stats for March!

March was our lowest month to date but I’m still proud of the work that was accomplished.

Where have I been?

Happy Tuesday Novas! Soooo, you may have noticed that there has been radio silence over here at GamersUnitedGG.  I apologize, but I went semi “off the grid” while on vacation in Illinois last week and early this week. It was a great experience and I had a great time with my friends (not to mention I was able to see and play in snow for the first time in my life). Now I’m refreshed with a few new ideas, games and blog posts coming this week. Thank you for everyone tuning in and check back later today for this week’s Rankings Post!

November Recap & December Goals!

Happy Sunday Players! November was a great month for me in a personal sense, but let’s see what has happened on the blog!

Surprisingly, we published 24 posts in the month of November! I was participating in the NaNoWriMo challenge all month, so I was not as active as I have been due to the challenge. Yet somehow between myself and our contributors we still had a decent number of posts!

We have 1064 Views, 668 visitors and 316 likes!

November Goals

  • Complete NaNoWriMo – Since we are in the month of November, I have been working on the NaNoWriMo challenge and my personal goal is to complete it!
  • 1 Steam Game Review  I have a few steam games that I have yet to play so I look to play them and write up a review this month (Thank you Thero159 for Offworld Trading Company and Amello!).
  • Post at least 3 times per week – The blog activity may not be as frequent as previous months because I’m focusing on NaNoWriMo, but I will try to have at least 3 posts per week for the month of November.

Ach2

The only achievement that we earned last month was the one for Completing NaNoWriMo! The novel is about 51,000 words (I’ve been editing it) and it is a Young Adult, period drama series.

December Goals:

  • Complete a Steam Game Review!
  • Set up the GamesUnitedGG YouTube Channel!
  • Launch a community Guest Blog Challenge!
  • Set up the GamersUnitedGG Podcast

snow

Those are my goals for December! As you can see it’s a lot of prep work for our anniversary in January and the launching of extensions to the blog!

Here are our top  posts from the month of November!

  1. Creating a Compelling RPG Villain
  2. Wooden Block Puzzle Mobile Game Review
  3. NaNoWriMo Update & Excerpt #2

This month we have a few collaboration posts for the holidays so be on the lookout for those!

I’m completing the Memoirs of a Villain post for Bowser!

Launching another community Guest Post Challenge tomorrow Monday 12/4/17!

NaNoWriMo Update & Excerpt!

Happy Saturday Novas! Today is day number 4 in the NaNoWriMo challenge and I am ahead of schedule in word count. I’m trying to keep up with my schedule and write everydayuntil I have nothing left to write. This way, if I miss a day or have writer’s block and can’t hit the target word count, I would have built up a safety net. A while back I posted about possibly sharing some clips from the story that I am writing and you guys were great in saying that you would love to read an excerpt. Well today will be the first day that I let anyone have a peak at the story. I hope you enjoy!

My Novel: A Dance With Destiny

Genre: Young Adult / Fiction / Period Drama

Blurb: A kingdom in turmoil, an heiress’ position being challenged, a forced betrothal. Can Princess Ariana carry on the family dynasty of the House of Tamlin with a 16 year old secret looking to take everything away? Told through the eyes of household characters, a journal floats around the land. How will she cope? Will she survive? And will she ascend as the ruler of the kingdom? It is truly a dance with destiny!

Fort Canon August 5th, 1523

We were ambushed, but we finally have time to rest. Lexington is lost and the nobles are searching for us to finish the job. The battle was lost, we didn’t stand a chance but I have the king with me. He’s bloody, but he’s alive and we have to get him to safety. The extraction unit is myself and 3 of the king’s knights who were not slaughtered at the feast. There were 12 of us 2 days ago, but the combination of the cold and lack of supplies has cut through our party like the plague. Julius, the youngest of the guards is a mere 14 years old, yet he has the gall of a man. He found this abandoned fort when I asked him to scout ahead. We have to rest because the king is unwell. His wounds are deep and he has lost a lot of blood. We can’t move him too far at a time. I cleaned the wound where the spear was launched from the crowd through his gut. The good thing about the mountains is that you can get water from melting the snow.

I didn’t think he was going to make it. After the attack I sliced the long end of the spear and carried his grace out. Lucky for me, Angelina had told me a story about a rendezvous that she used to have. She would use the servants entrance through the kitchen to get to the hall in Bancroft Manor. The servants entrance was littered with secret passages so I chose one and it lead us out behind the pig pen. Had I not known about this passage, I don’t know if any of us would still be alive. period This fort contains a few pieces of iron so I had a fire built to keep his grace warm. Plunging the iron bar that I have found into the fire, I cauterized the wound that is taking the life of my king. I cannot let him die, but if we do not find refuge soon, his grace will not make it. Julius caught 2 squirrels and we fed the king and allowed him to sleep. Now I stand watch and plot our next move. The problem is, that I do not know which cities are still loyal to us. Lexington has been loyal to the Tamlin Family rule for centuries, so if they’re turned, who knows who we can trust. I have a map of our surroundings so I know that Tarringdale and Santa Lucille are pretty close to us. I guess I’m going to have to pick one and hope to God that they have not turned against the crown.

There’s a snippet of the story. What do you think? Are you working on any projects or stories right now? Let’s talk!

-Luna 🙂

Thank you for 400+ Followers & October recap!

Hiya Players and Novas! You’ve read the title right, today you will have a double feature post! Things in November will be busy for me as I’m tackling the NaNoWriMo challenge so the post may not be a frequent as prior months. With that being the case I have less time to read posts and compose them so there may be reblogs of previous posts and posts from blogs that I follow.

Anyway, THANK YOU FOR 400 FOLLOWERS!  thank you This goal came and passes incredibly quickly and I am super thankful for all of you. As a treat, I will provide the synopsis of my NaNoWriMo novel and I need character names! Feel free to leave names for my characters and I may buse them in the book! I’ll definitely shout you out and acknowledge that it’s your character. Below is the synopsis and the character roles that I will need names for.

A kingdom in turmoil, an heiress’ position being challenged, a forced betrothal.

Soooo it’s a time period drama piece. The characters I need are:

  • The Queen

  • A Lady In Waiting with a zest for life

  • The Stable Boy

  • The Squire

  • An Evil Uncle

Happy November & Updates!

Happy Wednesday Players and Happy November! It’s time for the National November Writer’s Month or NaNoWriMo challenge! Because I am planning to take part in the challenge (where I am tasked with writing 50,000 words on a novel) the month of November will be a bit different. I want to give a great effort for my first go round with the event. What that means is that the posts will most likely be lesser this month than normal.  I would say may 3 posts or so a week. If you could like to add me on the NaNoWriMo website my username is Luna26x.

Upcoming Posts:

This week I have a few posts set up and they will go out sporadically. I have a game review for the mobile app SpurtDot set to go up most likely tomorrow. I have an update on the mibile game Sky Island coming out soon and the Memoirs of a Villain post is being worked on as well. Lastly, I was nominated for the Perfectly Imperfect tag by Mahddyboy last week. My response and nominations of that post will be up sometime within the next week as well. I will try and have consistent content but Call of Duty WWII also releases this week soooo…. I’m going to be playing the game all weekend lol.  gaming

Also, whenever my WWE Slam Crate for this month arrives I will have an unboxing post as well. I’m excited because this month we receive an Alexa Bliss shirt and the final connecting piece to my attitude era ring (currently I have Stoine Cold Steve Austin, Triple H and the Undertaker)! While I am focusing on the writing challenge, I may reblog some of my favorite pieces of work from the year. If you have mised anything, make sure to check out the posts!

What are you up to this week? Is anyone participating in the NaNoWriMo Challenege? Let’s talk current projects!

Updates!

Happy Friday Players and Novas!  I hope everything is going well! Today’s post will be a short update on what’s going on with myself and the blog! It’s the Burger of The Day post, if you will lol.

Vacation: Firstly, I’m on vacation lol. I’m currently typing to your from my friends living room (because she’s still asleep) in Illinois. Now I’m a Floridian so being in Illinois when it’s pretty cold to me is crazy. But hey, I promised her that I would visit to go to Six Flags and Fright Night with her (doing that tomorrow). I’m a little skeptical because I am used to the high end Halloween Horror Nights and Howl O Scream events, but I’m sure I’ll have fun either way (If I don’t freeze to death lol).

Patreon: I know I mentioned starting a Patreon account in the Bloggers Thoughts: From Players to Professionals post last week. Well that dream is a reality now. The Patreon Page is live and you can help support the blog if you wanted by clicking here. Also, if you have any ideas for the page I’m happy to hear them!

Upgrades: Does the site look different to you? We received our first sponsored post a few days ago. With the earnings, I upgraded the blog to Premium and now we have access to better themes. It’s a work in progress but I’m upgrading the look and feel of the site (it looks wayyyy better on mobile now). How does the new theme look?

NaNoWriMo – The outline is complete for my story that I’m going to be working on during National November Writer’s Month (NaNoWriMo) and I’m debating on posting snippets of the story here during the month of November. Let me know if that would be a good idea. I’m writing the story of a journal from medievel times, following the life of a royal court and a Princess. The journal’s going to be written from different perspectives as it winds up in a few different character’s possession.

Upcoming Posts: This coming week we will have posts coming out that I have been working hard on.

Saturday 10/21/17 : WWE TLC Preview and Predictions! 20161114_TLC_Logos_rendered--39a157fbe4ce365b2bc8b62f00db7a18

Wednesday 10/25/17: Fortnite First Impressions! fortnite

Thursday 10/26/17: TBD

That’s what I have planned this week, assuming that nothing changes at the moment! Are you working on any projects? What do you have scheduled this week? Are you looking forward to any of the posts? Let’s talk!

Gamer’s Log: Part 3!

Happy Monday Novas and Players! Thank you for tuning into today’s post that will be a log of my current games and progress.

Roblox: Restaurant Tycoon –   restaurant  So with the addition of my new gaming PC I have downloaded and been playing games with it for the past week. If you recall, I did a Hidden Treasures post on the sandbox game Roblox a while back, you can read that post here! This week I started playing the mini game Restaurant Tycoon! Restaurant Tycoon is a game where you can customize and run your own Restaurant.  You have “Ekea” to shop for furnishings and you can hire staff. I started with a British Pub type feel but my restaurant quickly turned into a Family Style dining location! Checkpoint: I’ve completed all of the upgrades so now I’m just paying for fun!

Destiny 2 –   destiny3  So I’m working on my Destiny 2 review and that will be up in a few weeks. The First Impressions post will be up most likely Monday morning. Checkpoint: I’ve completed the story and am working on reaching 270 so that I can play the Raid. Currently, I’m at 250. Also, I’m undefeated in solo Crucible games at the moment. The game is really fun! check out the First Impressions post by clicking here!

Topps WWE Slam Cards- I have been slacking on my WWE trading card game. I log in everyday to collect my free coins, but I haven’t been going after sets like I normally am. Checkpoint: I received a specialty Seth Rollins Card from the No Mercy Pay Per View!!! All is right with the world lol. I also received some cool WWE Zombies cards this past week. If you want to add me to trade cards, my name is Luna26x.

Yugioh: Legacy of the Duelist- I’ve been trying to complete all of the story modes in my Yugioh game! This game is really fun and I’m building different battle packas. I may play online tonight. Checkpoint: about 42% through the Yugioh GX story mode. 2 more to go after this one I believe.

Duelyst –   duelyst-2  This is a new card game that was recommended to me on my Facebook feed. It looks comparable to Smite Tactics where you select a champion and battle using the cards in your hand to defeat the other champion. I’ve played the tutorial and started story mode and this game looks fun so far. Checkpoint: I’ve played a few online battles!

Fortnite –   fortnite-listing-thumb-01-ps4-us-24may17  Fortnite Battle Royale was available to download for free on PS4 so I have been playing. There’s no leveling up or anything unless you purchase the full game, but I’ve quite enjoyed jumping out of the bus and scavenging for goods among 100 other players. First Impressions Post coming later this week! Checkpoint: I’m just playing the Battle Royale mode since the survival mode in the game is unavailable.

Asteroid Challenge –   asteroid-challenge-trailer.mp4  I’m working on an asteroid shooter mobile game review so I have been playing the Asteroid Challenge game on my phone. This game is pretty awesome and I can feel myself slowly sinking deeper, and deeper into the game. Full review will be up later this week. Checkpoint: Battling through Asteroids!

Those are the games that I am currently playing at the moment. Which games are taking up your free time? Do you have any goals for your current games? Let’s talk video games!

Bloggers Thoughts: Going from Players to Professionals!

Hiya Players and Novas! Today’s post will be a discussion post on the recent changes that I have been making on the blog. I really enjoy blogging, point blank. I am very social in real life so blogging and being social online is something that naturally appeals to me. I have met so many wonderful bloggers, gamers and downright awesome people so I want to keep on chugging! Recently I have added a few more bloggers to GamersUnitedGG so that we can increase the range of posts and diversity on the blog. The newest blogger to join us is Dale & his posts will show up as BTDPress! Check out his first post on The Psychology of Gaming here! Welcome to the team Dale!

Upgrades:

I’ve been making some changes and upgrades to gain more exposure for the blog. We have a few social media outlets in which you can stop by and read/interact with the posts. My goal is to have a fully functioning blog that represents the gaming and geek culture. With that said I am branching out and trying to change a few minor things on the blog.

  1. The First Impression & Game Review Posts – will now have a ranking at the end of the post. This will appear directly below the Play/Skip sections. I saw a great option for Hearts on the DoubleJump blog that I may use.
  2. Dedication – I’m going to strive to have at least 1 First Impressions or full Game Review every 2 weeks. (I want to have one weekly but I figured I should start slow first lol)
  3. Patreon – I have been seeing a few of my blogging buddies have started using Patreon to help fund their efforts in blogging. I am setting up a Patreon account and it will go live soon for anyone interested in helping support our efforts.
  4. Activities – I am trying to be more active with the blogging community as a whole (Twitter, Tumblr, etc). The minor problem is that my job has now thrown off my work/blog balance (which is why I haven’t posted in 2 days) so I need to come up with another way to stabilize.

writing

Current Projects:

  1. Halloween Challenge/ Guest Blog Posts – The Guest Blog Post for this week is Zombie Survival. There’s still time to enter your 500 words or less response to How will you survive. Enter and link your post on the original post for use to read!
  2. Game Review – I found a gaming company that wanted bloggers to review their mobile game. This will be our first request to review a game post so I’m making sure that I am thoroughly playing the game.
  3. October’s Question of the Month- Read our Question of the Month post on the video game mercenary that we would hire and then check out our blogging buddies responses! You can vote for your favorite over at Later Levels by clicking here! Their post goes up October 16th!
  4. NaNoWriMo – I am planning to participate in the National November Writer’s Month Challenge where you would write 50,000 words on a novel. This is my first undertaking of the challenge and I want to do well so I am outlining the story that I would like to work on.
  5. Collaborations – I love collaborating with other bloggers. I am looking to do more collaboration posts. If you would like to collaborate email us or comment below!
  6. Book Review The King’s Curse- so I started reading the Kings Curse again and it got realllll interesting. I’m about a 3rd of the way through so I look to finish the book and the review by the end of the month.

That’s what we’re working on so far. What are you currently working on? What are your plans? Are you making any upgrades or changes to your blog or blogging process? How are you going from Player to Professional? Let’s talk blogging!

Have a great week!

-Luna 🙂
