Netflix Series of The Week: Riverdale!

Happy Friday Novas! It’s been a few weeks but the Netflix series of the week posts are back. They will be posted every other Friday! I know I have to review 13 reasons why but honestly I haven’t felt like watching it lately. Not because I don’t think it’s good, but because I know it’s really sad. Eventually I will watch it. I actually binge watched Riverdale last week so what a way to revamp the series!

Plot: Riverdale is the series on The CW where the old school comics of Archie are brought into the modern era. I haven’t read Archie, but I remember the shorts in the newspaper when I was a kid. As someone who didn’t know the back story I really, REALLY enjoyed the series. The story takes place in the city of Riverdale, just after summer break. You’re placed smack down in the middle of a missing person investigation.

Jason Blossom, son of the wealthiest family in town went missing on the 4th of July at Sweetwater River. The last person to see him; his twin sister Cheryl. Archie and friends are living their lives around the biggest town mystery and the normal turbulence of a teenager’s high school days.

Characters: I’ve read some reviews on Riverdale and the controversy between how characters are portrayed in the series. Personally, I really liked the characters and the actors commissioned to star in the role did an amazing job. You have Archie, the friendly boy he is all about helping people. Archie has some deep dark secrets and those are revealed early on in the series. Next you have Archie’s best friend and typical girl next door Betty. Betty is smart, beautiful and determined. Yet, Betty also has secrets in her life. Betty is one of my favorite characters.

You have Jughead, the neighborhood couch surfer that writes about the lives around him. Jughead is from the wrong end of the tracks and has a slew of problems ranging from family life to personal struggles. Lastly, you have the new girl in town Veronia Lodge. From the moment Veronica hits the scene you know that she is rich, snobby and out to make the most of her new life.

Alternate characters that I love are Cheryl Blossom and Josie. I really think that the actress playing Cheryl did a great job of playing the antagonist. I love shows that have convincing antagonists that you love to hate. It makes the series that much more interesting. I figure it’s the same premise as a good book having a great villain. Cheryl is popular, rich, beautiful and smart. That makes her character more engaging when shes stirring up trouble between Archie and the gang. She’s the typical mean girl in school.that you hate, yet everyone wants to be her friend.

There’s a new take on Josie and her cats. Josie takes on a more cool role then from the comics. She’s a total diva and her crew are beautiful, talented pussycats take over all of the school’s music functions. Josie doesn’t take no for an answer, she doesn’t let anyone take the reigns of her crew and she doesn’t care. Her sassyness and talent are interesting contrasts to the series.  Both Josie and Cheryl are awesome female powerhouses that add interesting elements to the series.

This is the section of my reviews where I will list my top reasons to watch or “Play” and not watch or “Skip” the series.

  • A fresh new take on the Archie series.
  • A great teen drama/mystery show
  • Episodes are more interesting the further you get
  • Cole Sprouse!

  • You don’t like variations in classic stories
  • You get annoyed with teens doing stupid things lol
  • Don’t skip, watch itttttt lol

Thank you for tuning in. Have you watched Riverdale? Have you read the Archie comics? What are you currently binging on Netflix? Let’s talk Netflix!

WWE Extreme Rules Predictions!

Happy Saturday Novas! Time for another WWE PayPerView prediction post and this weekend Monday Night Raw’ s roster is up! Before every network special I will post a prediction on who I think will be the victor. I want to also mention that I’m happy with the progression of Monday Night Raw and consider Raw to be the more entertaining brand at the moment (thank you Superstar Shakeup!).

Extreme rules is a great payperview that introduces non conventional or “extreme” rules into the matches. This is where the wwe universe gets to see crazy action like last year’s Asylum Match. This year will be no different.Let’s get into the matches!

Mixed Tag Team Match Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs Noam Dar & Alicia Foxxex4   This mixed tag team match has been looming in the background ever since Alicia Foxx’s character started jumping from on screen relationship to on screen relationship. Insert Sasha Banks into the mix and now we have a mixed tag match. I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed with Sasha Banks being involved as it seems like her value has decreased. Predictions: Sasha Banks and Rich Swann wins!

Raw Women’s Championship Alexa Bliss vs Bayley-   ex1  The Womens championship match will be a keno stick on a pole match. Alexa took the women’s title after defeating Bayley in her home town last month. Alexa has been patronizing Bayley saying that she can’t get extreme, leading to the keno stick on a pole match! I feel as though Bliss is trying to corrupt Bayley’s character which can make for an interesting story line (I.E. Neville and TJP’s relationship). Predictions: Bayley wins. Not quite sure why I feel like this, but I’m choosing Bayley!

Intercontinental Championship match Dean Ambrose vs the Miz-   ex5  Still with a feud that I hope ends here we have IC Champion Ambrose in a no champions advantage match with the Miz. The champions advantage States that titles will not change hand if the match is won by DQ. Since the Miz picked the stipulation, Ambrose cannot get disqualified or he will lose the title. Very interesting twist as for Ambrose to be DQ’d the Mix would have to be assaulted…. see the dilemma. If Maryse (Miz wife) pretty much assaults her husband, he would become champion. Prediction: I want for Ambrose to retain but with the stipulation my gut tells me Miz will win.

Raw Tag Team Championship Steel Cage Match-   ex2  The Hardy Boys vs Sheamus and Cesaro will be an epic steel cage match. Sheamus and Cesaro has been feeling disrespected and overlooked by the Hardys as well as the fans since Wrestlemania. The now heel team looks to “delete” the Hardyz in a steel cage match. Predictions: Although this is a match custom made for the Hardyz, I really want Sheamus and Cesaro to win. I’m choosing the Swiss-Celtic warriors! But I can’t wait to see Jeff hit a Swanton in the cage!

Cruiserweight Championship Match-   ex3  3rd times a charm right? Will this rematch, well re rematch between champ and King of the Cruiserweights Neville and challenger Austin Aries finally end in Aries’ favor? Neville has recruited TJP, sunk to new lows and impeded Aries’ triumphant return to the ring. Prediction: The greatest man alive will finally become cruiserweight champion! He should hit up Seth Rollins for a Kingslayer shirt lol.

Fatal 5 way Number 1 contenders match-   ex6  I’m really just waiting for the main event the first fatal 5 way match at Extreme Rules that’s being marketed to shape the face of the new era. I loveeee everyone in this match (except for Joe). We have my husband, kingslayer, champ, architect the man Seth Rollins vs eater of works Bray Wyatt, vs my other husband the demon king Finn Balor vs The big Dawg Roman Reigns… vs wack Samoa Joe lol. Star studded main event. Winner will face the beast Brock Lesner for the Universal title. I want all 4 to win forget Joe lol. Predictions: I have nooo idea. I’m just going with my heart and saying Seth Rollins but it’s really anyone’s match.

These are my predictions for Sundays PayPerView. Do you agree with my predictions? Who do you think will win? Let’s talk WWE!

Happy Friday Novas! I was reading through my blog feed and came across the 30 Day Blog Challenge for Gamers! Sooooo I had to join in on the fun and I encourage all of my fellow gamers to follow suit if you want! Firstly, I would like to shout out the blog who’s post I read: Upon Completion.  So the rules (as I understand) are to simply respond each day with your answer.

I’m a day late in the month of June (which the challenge doesn’t have to be by calendar month) so this will be a combined post for Day 1 & Day 2 (because I want to be difficult lol :p). Here are the Categories:

Day 1 – Very first video game.
Day 2 – Your favorite character.
Day 3 – A game that is underrated.
Day 4 – Your guilty pleasure game.

Day 12 – A game everyone should play.
Day 13 – A game you’ve played more than five times.
Day 14 – Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper.
Day 15 – Post a screenshot from the game you’re playing right now.
Day 16 – Game with the best cut scenes.
Day 17 – Favorite antagonist.

Day 27 – Most epic scene ever.
Day 28 – Favorite game developer.
Day 29 – A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving.
Day 30 – Your favorite game of all time.

Day 1 Question: Your 1st Video Game:

My Very First Video Game that I can remember has to be either Tetris, Dr. Mario or Duck Hunt. Tetris is an amazing game of stacking different shaped blocks as they fall on the screen. The goal is to not let your blocks reach the top of your screen (come on you all remember Tetris, Right?). tetris

Dr. Mario was a classic game of matching the colors on the pills to get rid of them. Similar to Tetris, your goal is to not let your falling pills stack up and reach the top of the screen. Now that I think about it, this game was pretty creepy. Dr. Mario is basically an illegal pharmacist mixing medications lol. Dr_mario_screenshot

Duck Hunt was a game for Super Nintendo in which you, well you shoot ducks. It came with this gnarly orange and gray gun that you would point and shoot at the screen. Tons of fun with Duck Hunt.

Day 2 Question: Your Favorite Character.

It’s funny, the Day 2 question I just answered this morning on the Shameful Narcissist’s blog lol. My favorite video game character of all time would have to be Yoshi! Yoshi was the man! He was green, could turn people into eggs and a great maneuver-er on Mario Kart! I would always select Yoshi if he hadn’t been taken and wreak havoc!!!! I remember playing Mario Party 4 on Gamecube with my brother and his friends. I was the champion always winning in Castaways and the basketball mini games.   Yoshi-o Every game I would pick Yoshi, my brother would select Toad, his friend would pick Waluigi and my friend would pick Peach. Great times. Some other characters I love are the Arbitor from Halo (He’s AWESOME!) and Baird or Cole Train from Gears of War!  I guess it would also depend on the game. If we’re playing street fight Chun-Li is bae and in Mortal Kombat Scorpion or Sonya Blade are my go to’s. Well Cinder was pretty awesome as well. The best thing about being a gamer is that you don’t have to choose your favorites! You can play with all of the characters and still have fun.

Thank you for checking out this second post today. What are your 1st games and favorite characters? Let’s talk gaming!

Series Review: The White Queen!

Happy Friday Novas! As mentioned a few posts ago, I was recently sick and found myself binge watching a series on Starz called The White Queen! It’s no secret that I love watching period pieces like Reign, The Tudors, Versailles,  etc. The White Queen falls right in to that time as well.

It’s funny, I actually first came across this story from my friend’s fiance. She has a crazy book collection and let me borrow some books to read. She has a collection of Phillipa Gregory books that are historical fiction.  images   Since its right up my alley, I of course grabbed a few of the books. The White Princess,  The Red Queen and The Kingmaker’s Daughter. The same day I saw a commercial for The White Princess and knew it was my book coming to the screen. Fast forward I’ve watched 3 episodes of the White Princess and had to stop because its currently showing. But Starz recommended The White Queen and voila I’ve completed the show! The White Queen starts before the White Princess in history.

Story: This 10 episode series follows the life of Elizabeth Woodville and her secret marriage to King Edward IV. Since the now Queen of England’s family were middle class commoners,  the English Court was in an uproar. One of the outrage subjects was Richard Neville who earned the title of “Kingmaker” due to his ability to, well to get a king placed on the throne.  He had been Edward’s right hand man in his climb towards the throne where Henry VI was de-throned. The “War of the Roses” starts here. Normally you think of Henry VII teaming up with the House of Lancaster to take down the House of York, but the blood and violence runs deeper than that. Both houses bear the sigil of the Rose, one House with a White Rose and the other with the Red.

Characters:    3 bros  I thoroughly enjoy the development of the characters in the series. You have the 3 brothers Edward (The King), George (The favorite) and Richard (The Loyal) of the royal house. Each brother takes on the characteristics listed above.   There are also the 3 main female characters of Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville. Richard Neville (Anne’s father) plays a large role in the series as well. here’s plenty of drama and even treason boiling between the characters of the series. You have everyone reaching for the throne and trying to carry favor with King Edward, what’s a monarch to do?

Historical Accuracy: I didn’t know much about Edward IV other than his brother was Richard III who fell in the War of the Roses, allowing Henry VII to ascend the throne. This story was completely new to me. After a few episodes I started researching what events are documented (because who knows what really happened right?). The events in this series seems to match up well. What I found particularly interesting is that in this series (and the following White Princess series) both took different takes on the “Princes In The Tower” story. Since we can only speculate what happened, it’s nice that both sides were presented. There’s also another take on Richard III’s position towards the Crown that is commonly debated. The general  timeline is followed however, since it is fiction here’s more drama inserted to make the series Starz worthy.

Acting: I’ve really enjoyed the acting in this series. The only thing that bothers me is that the accents of some characters do not seem as genuine. It doesn’t really detour from the plot of the story so it is bearable. I like the sometimes gory scene or childbirth or battle. Watching from all 3 perspectives of Elizabeth, Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville is really interesting as well. white_queens7   Their dynamic really brings the story alive in my opinion. The main plot revolves around Elizabeth, however, the links that each woman takes towards securing the throne is well represented.

This is the section of my reviews in which I list my main reasons that you should watch or “Play” the series and reasons why you may like to “Skip” this series.

  • You love historical fiction and watching the drama of Royals
  • A well acted plot and interesting timeline of events
  • A short, binge worthy series with a glimpse of historical events

  • If you have a niche for English accents lol
  • Not a fan of period dramas
  • If you’re looking for a longer series (10-1 hour episodes, although the series links to The White Princess).

Thank you for reading my review! This weekend I will have the Extreme Rules Predictions post and Wonder Woman movie review! Have you seen The White Queen? Are you a fan of historical fiction and if so, what are some of your favorite series? What are you currently binge watching? Next week: Riverdale! Let’s talk historical fiction!

Megacon 2017 Convention!

Happy Memorial Day Novas! This past weekend I attended the Megacon Convention in Orlando and this short post will show some of the cosplayers I met! This was my second convention going in cosplay and I was FINALLY able to complete my Lana Kane costume. Let’s start the post with a comparison of Lana and my version of her!

Artist: One of the things I loveeeee about conventions would be the Dealer Rooms and Artist Alleys. You are able to pick up awesome pieces to take with you and some artists will actually customize your piece in front of you. We purchased a Wonder Woman spray paint picture and the artist created it in under 3 minutes! Take a look!

Another great part of conventions is the people watching! Some many cosplayers from different parts of the globe arrive with their costumes. The normal characters appeared like Deadpool, Joker, Harley Quinns and Overwatch Characters. What’s even more amazing is that there were plenty of couples dressed alike as well. We seen Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online and Ariel and Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid!  Here are some of the cosplayers that I had to highlight!

Swagggg- On Friday we were able to participate in several events. These events concluded with us getting swagg to take home. We also received great coupons and deals on entertainment like Medieval Times. Also, I had to pick up a few things for myself and friends as well. Here’s what I obtained.

Thank you for taking a look at my convention weekend! We had a blast and I cannot wait until my next one! What did you think of the post? Have you ever cosplayed or attended a convention? Let’s talk Geek!

WWE Slamcrate Unboxing!

Happy Sunday Novas! This week I’ve received 2 Lootcrates; one for my bi-monthly WWE Slamcrate and one for the monthly standard Lootcrate. Today’s post will be the WWE crate and Tuesday I will show the standard Lootcrate. The theme for this month’s crate was “Master of the Mic!” It features some of the best trash talkers in WWE history so I was very excited for it’s release. Let’s get into the contents!

If you remember my Favorite wrestler’s of all time post, you will know that Stone Cold is my FAVORITE!!!!

The first item I was interested in was the T Shirt. Each crate brings an exclusive T Shirt and this one was the Finn Balor shirt. Side Note: I already knew 2 items that were going to be in this month’s crate because I was able to preview the crate at Wrestlemania Axxess last month.

The Next Item was a pair of WWE Microphone glasses. One was to pay tribute to the Smack Talker C=Skywalker, Enzo Amore and the other was a standard WWE Mic used to lay the verbal Smackdown on any and every Superstar from the best in the biz!

This next item I was super excited for. You know I collect Pops and other collectibles so having this WWE Ring figure with Stone Cold Steve Austin is the best prize I could ask for! A little inside tip is that the next 3 boxes will also include these figures so that you can collect all 4 and make a full ring! Great marketing as I have subscribed for 6 additional months to collect all of the ring figures lol.

There’s a great Masters of the Mic booklet that shows some of the greatest trash talkers and their best moments! Remember “Austin 3:16 says I just Whipped Your A..” or “The Doctor of Thuganomics.” It’s a great book recounting some of the best rivalries and their iconic phrases.

Lastly we have the WWE Universal Championship pin. Each crate includes a collectible pin as well.

This is probably my favorite crate by far as I love EVERYTHINGGGGG in the crate this month. Also I have a new poster for my wall in THE GREAT ONE!!!!

Feel Free To Use My Promo Code to Get Started! Lootcrate Promo Code

What did you think of this month’s items? Do you subscribe to any Lootcrate or Subscription services? Let’s talk subscriptions! Have a great Sunday all!

Play Our Theme Music!!!

C2E2 Shout out: In honor of one of the actors attending C2E2 this weekend (Jason David Frank) I’ve of course had to feature the original Green Ranger! Along with our Green Ranger why not add in Doc. Emmet Brown, he was a hero of sorts lol.

It’s Morphin Time!!! Let’s go…BACK TO THE FUTURE!

While we are on DBZ might as well feature one of my favorite villains: Frieza! Futher more Perfect Cell is another favorite of mines!

You can’t talk about Villains without featuring the craziest couple around. That’s right Joker and Harley Quinn. Thanks to my friend Decaying Senpai for sending his pops in to be featured!

Creative Writing Pt. 2- The Curse

Happy Wednesday my brilliant Nova Super Stars! Thank you for tuning in to week 2 of my Creative Writing Challenge where me and my friend send pictures to each other and have to connect 4 pictures to 1 story. This idea was brought about by 2 other fellow bloggers who send pictures to each other as well! Thank you Woven Eclipse and Acacia Aurora! Check out Part 1 of the series by clicking here! Let’s get back into the story, as we left off with Kyrie pointing his Go Pro camera inside the house and going in!

“This is nothing.” Kyrie says as he walks around the strange, abandoned manor. His feet are releasing the echoes of peanuts smashing and chips being crushed throughout each corridor of the house. As he walks down the first hallway to the right of the front door, his curiosity is peaked. Kyrie keeps his camera in front of him, filming every second of his search. The sweet melody of a chime is lingering around the corner. “What is that?” Kyrie says. His legs began to turn to noodles and his head pounds, the chiming is getting louder. Kyrie’s brushing against the wall trying to stay erect. One foot after the other, he will not be detoured from finding the source of the haunting chime. He uses his energy to film what is happening, catching the wood floors, the old chandelier on the ceiling and the rats running across the floor. Kyrie starts to slow down as he’s finding it hard to walk. Using the camera he knocks the cobwebs out of his way and proceeds to follow the sound of the chime. Kyrie gets to the end of the hall, where the sound is at it’s highest, he peers into the room to the left with a look of horror. “It, it can’t be.” Are the last words he could utter before gravity was too much, Kyrie collapses between the hall and the room where he had drug himself to find.

The crimsoned, blood moonlight is shining on Kyrie’s face. He awakes to a nauseous feeling in his stomach. “What Happened” Kyrie says. The last thing he remembers is seeing the older women that had told him about Bancroft Manor laying across the piano in the room, dead! “Where did she go? Did I imagine the whole thing?”. Kyrie sneezes and his body flies up off of the floor before plummeting again. Startled he looks at his hands and then stands up. Kyrie tries to sneeze again but nothing happens. “The Camera!” Kyrie remembers. He searches around the room trying to find his Go Pro, assured that all would be explained if he watches the tape. But something’s wrong, he can’t find the Go Pro. “I know it’s in here, I pointed it right at the piano.” he says snapping his finger trying to remember what happened before he collapsed. The snapping of his fingers sounded as if they were echoing back down the corridor. 1 snap, 2 snaps, 3 snaps and shock! Kyrie’s no longer able to snap, something is obstructing his fingers from moving. It’s an object, almost as if… “The Go Pro?” Kyrie looks at his hands to see his camera firmly in his grip.

“This is crazy, right?” Kyrie says. His instincts are urging him to leave so he heads to the front door. As he receeds back down the hall the path is lit with the blood moon’s light shining in from the windows of the kitchen and what looks to be a bathroom. Kyrie reaches the door, twists the old brass knob and pulls at the door. The creek of the door opening is all the weirdness Kyrie could take for the day. “I don’t care if I lose the bet.” he says and takes a step towards the door. As he’s walking out he feels a burning sensation all over his body. Sparks of red and green are enthralling his area. The interactions are too much and Kyrie reverses to get back into the house. The sparks stop. “You can’t do that.” a voice calls out to Kyrie. He knows no one else is in the house and chooses to ignore the advice. Kyrie braces himself and sprints towards the door. The pain of the shocks are almost too much to bear, but he can see that  he’s almost free.

Kyrie breaks through the barrier, bruised and burnt. He hunches over to catch his breath and notices the brown wooden floor illuminated by the moon’s light. “This looks like blood.” Kyriee notices. “No!” he says. Kyrie looks up to see the same vestibule area that he had just ran away from. He turns behind him to see the door and the outside world. What did he just run through? “How am I still in the house?” Kyrie thinks. “I told you, you can’t do that.” the voice says again. Kyrie’s blood is boiling now, is someone trying to play a trick on him? Well he’s had enough. “I can’t do WHAT!!!!” he screams turning his head, awaiting the response. The haunting silence would have been enough to drive a person mad. It would have been enough to have a fleet of ships surrender before ever approaching the shore. But it would not stop Kyrie. His senses are heightened as he waits for the response. It seems like an eternity, alas the voice calls out “You can never leave.”

What do you think is happening or will happen next? How would you feel if you were Kyrie? Let’s talk Creative Writing! Tune in next week for part 3 of this 4 part series.

Halo Wars 2 Review!

Hiya Gamers, Geeks and Friends! This will be my first Video Game Review and I’m super excited that it will focus on none other than the new RTS Halo Wars 2! Halo Wars 2 is the Real Time Strategy game from the original release of Halo Wars back on February 26th, 2009. I’ve been anticipating the release of HW2 and when it released February 21st, 2017, I had to jump on getting it (well the Halo Wars 2 Xbox One S bundle J ).  This review will focus on the campaign, different game modes and my personal preferences. For any tips and tricks for HW2 check here for my tips post!

New Leader Available!

The addition of Leaders to Halo Wars was a good call in my opinion. Leaders add an additional element to the game by allowing the player to use Leader Powers. Leader Powers are advantages in the game specific to that Leader that can be use to give you the upper hand in battle, in other words, it can change the dynamic completely! Also the Leader chosen at the start of the game will affect whether you are playing as the UNSC or the Banished! Some examples of clutch Leader Powers that I have used are the Turret Drops, Heals and Missile Bombardments to assist me in battle. Not all of the Leader Powers are offensive, some are great strategy wise such as Professor Anders Leader Power in which Research and construction is sped up.

The Campaign: Halo Wars 2 takes place after Halo 4 **Spoiler Alert, Spoiler Alert , Look Away now!”* well it’s not really a spoiler but you never know. Anyway the campaign takes place after the fall of the Covenant when a new threat rises. Atriox and his league of followers known as the “Banished” are tired of taking orders for the remaining members of the Covenant. One day when Atriox is cornered by the Covenant, he decides to take charge and lead his Banished army against anyone who tries oppose his will.

The Gameplay in the Campaign was really good in my opinion. If you’re read some of my gaming posts before, you will already know that I rarely play Campaigns (unless it’s specifically a single player game) so the fact that I was intrigued and excited the whole way through Halo Wars 2 is an achievement all on its own. Through the Campaign (which I’ve played Co-op) you take the fundamentals of building a base and journey through the story. This version of my Play and Skip bullet points will detail features that I think makes the game awesome and things that can be annoying with Halo Wars 2.

Play Campaign:

  • Co-Op feature makes it a great game to play with friends online (Each player is delegated certain units and options to control)
  • The Story is actually pretty good!
  • You will learn new skills not taught in tutorials like the Spartan Slam or Lock-down Mode on the Kodiak Tanks
  • You can develop new strategies for playing multiplayer online or Skirmishes

  • Loading Times in between Missions are pretty long (A.I. Talk A Lotttt!)
  • No place to save in the current mission (If you fail you start over)
  • Missions can last 20 minutes to an hour depending on how fast you can develop your base.
  • Sometimes the game would freeze in the middle of a battle
  • There’s a lot of information and controls to learn

Other Game Modes:

Skirmish– The Skirmish will be where you can practice using different Leaders against other opponents or the AI bots. You can upgrade your skills and learn new strategies for all game modes like Domination, Team Deathmatch or Strongholds!

Blitz- Blitz is the new game mode introduced into the Halo Wars series. You are able to draw cards and from the cards you are holding, you can attack and hold strongholds. I was playing domination in where you have to be the first to 200. This new game mode allows the players to speed up what could be a long game by allowing them access only to resources in their hands. When you are playing HW2, along the way you will receive Blitz Packs from completing missions and achievements in the game. These packs will allow you to customize a deck suitable to your play style. So far I have about 25 Packs that I need to open. Each game mode you play may have daily or weekly challenges to complete in order to ear rewards!

Multiplayer: Multiplayer in any game for me is a great way to test your skills against other people around the world. Yes it’s fun playing against AI but let’s be honest, the bots will not think like another player and eventually you will learn the AI’s tactics. Playing online multiplayer is the best way to truly test your skills and how you would compare. There are so many multiplayer game modes here that to go into detail with all of them would be insane! Just know that the multiplayer element is awesome and there’s many game types to choose from including Domination, Firefight, Team Deathmatch and Blitz!

Aesthetics & Controls:

I’ve loved the feeling of the maps in HW2. You are able to select large to medium maps for team battles or smaller maps for 1 on 1 encounters. Each map has it’s on distinction of colors in reference to where the location is on the campaign. I love that all of the colors and themes are still relevant to the Halo universe. The controls are easy to use, however, the difficulty comes in trying to remember which key does what ( If you’re used to playing RTS games then you will know about control management lol).

One critique that I will have is that sometimes I want to delegate specific units to attack a target and another set of units to defend. What would make the game better for me  is if there was a way to select multiple units of different subsets. For instance, I would want to select quickly 3 Marine Units and 2 Hellbringers…. while you are able to quickly select local grouped units and all on the individual marines, you cannot mix them quickly to issue orders (unless I’ve missed something lol). Basically I want to click, click , click and move the units of my choice without having to select all units or units in the local area.

In conclusion I really love playing Halo Wars 2 and even though I have finished the Campaign, the game has great replay value with the difficulty setting, different Leaders that you are able to use, several different game modes to play and the addition of DLC that will keep me occupied for a while. It doesn’t hurt that my games average 15-20 minutes so I’m not sitting there twiddling my thumbs. Thank you for reading my first Video Game Review! What do you think of the game? Have you played Halo Wars 2 or the original Halo Wars? What’s your favorite Real Time Strategy game? Let’s Talk RTS!
