Happy Thursday Players! This week the competitors competed in a head to head dodgeball match. The results ended with Team Red Bowser, Peach, Spyro and Solid Snake being up for elimination. You can review the episode here! Since this week we need to narrow down to 4 finalists, we put the vote to Twitter to eliminate 2 of the Players.
The competitor saved was Solid Snake with the most votes!
Then we ran into a problem. Both Peach and Spyro tied. So Luna went into recon mode and asked co-workers who they would choose. The character with the most votes and the last person saved from elimination was… Spyro!
Happy Monday and welcome to the semi-finals of Gamers House Season 1! On Friday the game was over for Marcus Fenix and Sonya Blade, who were voted out by the Players. Bowser and Spyro were safe for elimination and this week, the 2 will get to select the teams for Dodgeball! We are down to 8 Players so there will be 2 teams of 4, where the losing team will be up for elimination and 2 Players will be eliminated. This elimination will take place on Wednesday evening. From there the final 4 will be selected via the Twitter Vote. The 2 Contestants with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated on a special Saturday Elimination post. Let’s get to Dodgeball!
**Cue The Host**
Welcome Players to the second to the last challenge to find out who will be crown the Best Video Game Character! Today’s challenge is a good old fashion game of dodgeball where Players will launch a ball at the opposing team. If a Player is hit by the ball, they are out for that round, if a player catches a thrown ball, the Player that threw the ball is out. This will be a best of 3 so the team to win 2 rounds will be safe from this first elimination. Bowser, Spyro what are the teams?
Red Team Blue Team Bowser Lightning SpyroPeppy Peach Jensen Snake Zelda
The teams will take a moment to strategize and we will send it down to our news crew Luna and Lakitu!
Luna:Thank you Professor. This is coming down to the wire as the contestants have clearly drawn the line in the sand for the Players that are teaming up. I have to say that I would give the edge to the Blue Team. Lightning with her movement, Jensen with his abilities and Peppy… well Peppy may be the weak link here. On the other side we have a large mass Bowser who may be an early target. I can see Spyro and Snake excelling in this challenge. Lakitu has provided us with ball cams to see the action straight on. Looks like everyone is ready..
The Blue team starts with concerted efforts to get Bowser out. After 3 balls are thrown his way Bowser is the first out. He doesn’t sit on the bench alone as Peppy was also hit by Spyro who is avoiding the balls with quick flight maneuvers. Lightning takes out snake with a fast throw an dJensen silences Peach. That leaves Spyro for the Red team and Lightning, Jensen and Zelda for the blue. It was a hard fought effort but Spyro finally falls giving Blue Team the first win.
In round 2 the Red team comes out blazing with a game plan and targets Lightning straight off the back. Lightning put up a great fight hitting the balls with the ball in her hand and dodging with elegance and grace. Snake threw a curveball and Lightning was out. During the commotion Peppy was able to strike Spyro out. Peach struck out zelda and Jensen caught the ball the Bowser threw leaving Peach vs Jensen and Peppy. Peach avoided the attacks and hit Peppy in the nose. The winner of round 2 is… Jensen!
That’s it, 2 wins to the Blue Team which means that the Red Team have lost and are now up for elimination.
That was a great match! Tune in to Twitter this afternoon to vote to save 2 Players. The other 2 will be eliminated from the competition. The Twitter poll will be up until Wednesday Morning! Tune in Wednesday evening for the elimination post!
Welcome back to Purge week on Gamers House. This week’s challenge was a test in arcade fighting prowess where our contestants battled against 3 fighting game characters. After a grueling tournament style day, we ended up with a tie for MVP. This week both Sonya Blade and Nemesis are the MVP’s and will wield important power during the elimination, but first, let’s see who was saved by the Twitter Instant Save Vote!
Since it is Purge week there are 8 contestants up for elimination and we will be losing 4 Players today. The Twitter vote will save 2 Players and in a surprising twist, both Sonya and Nemesis will pick 1 Player each to save! The remaining Players will end their game here.
In the first vote we have Jensen, Shadow, Masterchief and Turok. The Player safe from elimination is….. Jensen!
In the second vote we have Aloy, Spyro, Kratos and Peppy. The Player Safe from elimination is…Peppy Hare!
Now before we get the decisions on Nemesis and Sonya, let’s check in with Luna and Lakitu to see what has happened over the week!
Luna: Thanks Professor! Lakitu and I have been staying at Hyrule Castle looking for any footage that we could use to boost the ratings. This week Players have been strategizing and plotting alliances and we have most of the encounters on film! Lakitu, start up the video…
Peach:Did you find out anything useful?
Snake:*Rustles in the bush* Yes. We already knew that Aloy and Turok were working together. What we didn’t know is that Kratos is on a double alliance. He is working with both Aloy and Turok AND Marcus and Masterchief.
Peach:I see. Did you find out who is loyal to Zelda.
Snake:I did your highness. It seems that if there were a vote to save you or Zelda, many would save Zelda.
Snake:Yea… something about you being a snob. Zelda’s nice, people like that.
Peach:Was there anyone loyal to me?
Snake:There was. Bowser, Spyro and Nemesis all put your name down to save. Those are our allies.
Peach: I see. Let me have a little talk with Nemesis before elimination.
Luna:There you have it. Some intel into alliances that could be forming.
Prof Oak:Luna, can you tell me how Snake has possibly avoided being on the chopping block this week after last week’s scandal?
Luna:Sorry Oak, the challenge depicted who was up for elimination this week along with a secret vote. I guess Snake did I decent job and has kept his head down because no one voted for him.
*Lakitu flies in with more footage…*
Luna:Wait a second. Roll the footage on camera 3 please.
Masterchief:So if we have to vote this week we are agreed on Snake right?
Marcus:Agreed. He cheated the system so he should naturally be voted in.
Peach:Gentlemen. I think that we are missing an opportunity here. Why vote in Snake now, when we can get a major player out?
Marcus:What are you talking about Princess?
Peach:It has come to my attention that your buddy Kratos has been shifting alliances.
Masterchief:He has? With who?
Peach:My sources tell me that Kratos is in an alliance with Aly and Turok with an aim to take you guys out. They’re upset from the 1st challenge where you swooped in and won. Turok is determined to make you guys pay.
Marcus:That…. I knew he was being too nice about the whole situation.
Masterchief:So they are voting for who?
Peach:I’m not sure on that. All I know is that it will probably be one of you two if not both.
Marcus:Hmmm… Then we should vote both Aloy and Turok in. Peach… are you with us?
Peach:I am. Aloy rubs me the wrong way so I shall vote for her.
Masterchief:Right! Marcus and I will take Kratos and Turok. We shall battle this out in elimination.
Peach: Goodluck boys. I would hate to see you leave.
Marcus:Thanks Princess. Talk to you soon
**Peach walks out the room and her dainty smile turns into an evil grin.**
Luna:Wow! Looks like Peach kept up her end of the bargain. Now we have some heavy hitters in the elimination on Purge week.
Prof Oak:Ah, I see. Let’s get the decisions from our MVPs. Sonya Blade. Who are you saving from elimination?
Sonya:I am saving Shadow!
Prof Oak:Now Nemesis, you are the last vote. Who are you saving from elimination?
Nemesis: … Starssssss
Nemesis:Starssss *Points to Spyro*
Pro Oak:There you have it, Spyro and Shadow are safe along with Jensen and Peppy. This ends the game for Masterchief, Turok, Aloy and Kratos 4 heavy hitters that many placed in the top 5! Wow. No one seen this coming, but somehow we lose 4 great Players and their games are over. Thank you for playing!
Next week we will have a staple event where the Players should come hungry. We are nearing the end of the Gamers House with 12 Players left. There are 2 more weeks left in Gamers House so this should be a doozie. See you on Monday at 10:30am EST.
Welcome everyone to the 2nd week elimination on Season 1 of Gamers House! During this week’s challenge our Players needed to prove their skills in a Triathlon A LA The Legend of Zelda where 3 activities tested their Climbing, Riding and Archery Skills. After 9 grueling heats of head to head action, the points were tallied and our winner is none other than Turok! Turok has been MVP and has moved into the MVP room. Let’s see which Players are up for elimination this week:
During the Twitter Instant Save Vote we had a little mix up as Snake was not showing on the Instant Save which mean no one had the chance to vote for him. This will change things up with the elimination this week but first let’s see a confessional post from one of the Players not up for elimination.
Confessional Solid Snake:
There was no reason for me to be up for elimination this week, especially with how well I did in the Triathlon. Security is pretty lax here so I took it upon myself to even the odds. These elimination posts are pre-scheduled and for some reason, the Twitter vote didn’t post on time. I offered to look at the problem with the computer and they really let me in unattended. So I removed my name from the elimination results and slithered back under my box in the corner of the room. When the mistake was spotted, it was too late. Luna and the Producers said they couldn’t place me in the elimination now as it would be an unfair advantage. So pretty much I crafted my own fate and now I get to watch these 4 in a brutal double elimination.
So my brilliant idea in espionage has taken a turn. Everyone is giving me the stink eye and I’m not in much conversation about ANYTHING this week. At dinner, Bowser and Nemesis held each other back from leaping across the table at me. No matter, I was ready with a horse tranquilizer that was sure to take either of the 2 down, but it’s still a little eerie. The Princesses passed me in the hall and turned their noses at me. I’m a pirarah in this house. I wanted to gauge exactly how mad the house was so I decided to hide in a bush this time. All the kids are talking about the bushes in Fortnite and I overheard more than I would want to hear.
Marcus:That Snake is a slippery one. Yea we are getting what we want with a higher chance that Nemesis will be eliminated, but we need to watch what he does from now on.
Kratos:It doesn’t matter Marcus. That’s the problem with you humans, you care too much about what people think. He did what was best for him and it isn’t necessarily against the rules.
Marcus:Bowser and the others up for elimination would disagree. It’s a form of cheating if you will. Bending the rules as it is.
Kratos:In any case Snake has placed a target on his back for the remainder of his life in the game. We can get rid of a huge threat or 2 with this elimination. I’d say we owe him a drink.
Well not everyone is upset with what I did. Maybe next week will look up. One thing is for sure, I really need to win the challenge next week by any means necessary. Time to start looking for an alliance.
Confessional Princess Peach:
I’m recovering well after last week’s surprise of Princess Zelda entering the house. My new plan is to get rid of her as quickly as possible and this week’s elimination may help set up for her downfall next week. I need to make sure that I can save Bowser and Duke Nukem to pull it off. The antics of Snake may be of great use to me so I need to speak with him alone.
Peach:Everyone’s giving you the cold shoulder.
Snake:*Silence from the bush*
Peach: I know you’re in there Snake. It’s fine if you don’t speak, less suspicious, but I do have a proposition for you.
Snake: *Rustling in the bushes*
Peach:I’ll take that as your undivided attention. This game still has a lot of players in it which can only mean that the last few weeks will start crashing down like an avalanche. We need to start forming alliances and you are just the man I need to have on my team. There’s already an alliance of Turok and Aloy and another with Marcus, Masterchief and Kratos. I’m not sure how many more are out there but that’s what I need you to find out.
Snake: *Rustling continues*
Peach:Here’s my deal. I will keep the heat off of you with my influence. All I need is for you to find out who is loyal to who in the house. I would also love if you could find out who is loyal to Zelda. Do this and I can bring you with me to the end. Do we have a deal?
Snake: * A leaf is expounded from the bush in the shape of a Y*
Peach:Thank you for your service. We will meet again next week.
*Cue The Host*
“Welcome back to the elimination week 2 on Gamers House! This week the challengers competed in the Triathlon that pays homage to RPG games like The Legend of Zelda and Turok reigned supreme as the MVP. Turok is immune from elimination and he will have an advantage in next week’s’ challenge. Now on to the elimination. It will be a double elimination this week and with the antics of Snake he is no longer on the chopping block.
The Twitter Instant Save Vote Winner is:
“King Koopa will NOT be eliminated this week and can rest up for next week’s challenge. That leaves Diddy, Nemesis and Duke Nukem up for elimination. The cast were asked to vote for save 1 person and the character with the most votes will be saved and moves on to next week. Shy Guy, let’s tally the votes please:
Peach – Duke Nukem
Kratos – Diddy Kong
Shadow – Diddy Kong
Snake – Nemesis
Spyro – Nemesis
Zelda – Diddy Kong
Jensen – Diddy Kong
Marcus – Diddy Kong
Sonya – Nemesis
Peppy – Nemesis
Masterchief – Nemesis
Lightning – Nemesis
These votes are kept secret from the Players, but the audience can see who voted to save which contestant.
The last Player saved is… Nemesis!
In a shocking twist, Nemesis is spared from elimination this week. This means that Diddy Kong and Duke Nukem games are over. Thank you for participating guys.
The competition is heating up and with hot heads like Bowser and Nemesis back in the house, how will the remaining Players stay in the game? Tune in Monday for Episode 3 of Gamers House!
Welcome to week 2 of the Gamers House! Last week the game was over for Orchid Leaving 18 contestants in the running for the Best Video Game Character trophy. In a twist, the votes casted by each contestant was revealed. How will Diddy Kong and Nemesis deal with knowing exactly who tried to vote them off? We will find out this week on Gamers House!
My name is Luna and I have been following the contestants around all weekend. Many of the characters that voted for Nemesis have steered clear of the giant as not to anger him. Diddy Kong has changed his initial social game and now sticks with his original Red Team members, with the exception of Spyro.
**Cue The Host**
“Oh, Hi again Contestants! That was a great opening week and we are happy to see you all in good spirits. As you may know, I am a Pokemon Research Professor and one of my favorite past times is to set up trainers with companions to help them on their journey. These companions will aid the trainer and get them out of sticky situations should a wild encounter with a Pokemon arise. For this week’s challenge, you too will be teaming up with a companion to help you through the task.”
The housemates seem to be upright listening to the Professor Speak.
Duke: Well get to it you quack. What is the challenge this week and when do I get to pound someone’s face in?
Prof Oak:“That’s a great question. There will be no punching this week, but the challenge will be our version of a TRIATHLON! Contestants will be given Chaos to help complete the tasks. What are these tasks? We will test your skills in Climbing, Riding and Archery. Each round will award points and the contestant with the most points at the end of all 3 tasks will be a winner. Don’t worry, if there is a tie, we do have a tiebreaker in mind.
Climbing – We have built an obstacle course that will test your climbing abilities through
Riding– Contestants will hop on a mount and ride through a course collecting as many rings as they can.
Archery – Using an elemental bow, you must shoot the different targets on the field as quickly as possible. Points are awarded by position of the arrow and the number of targets shot.
Masterchief! As MVP from last week you have the advantage of choosing the companion for each contestant AND since this challenge will be competed head to head, you can choose the match ups and the order in which each contestant will compete. Please have you decision ready by tomorrow morning.
Have a good night’s rest competitors, tomorrow will be a doozie.
Masterchief has chosen today’s lineup and order for the challenge. It is as follows:
Princess Peach vs Zelda
Bowser vs Nemesis
Spyro vs Shadow
Jensen vs Snake
Kratos vs Marcus Fenix
Duke Nukem – Sonya Blade
Diddy Kong vs Peppy
Masterchief vs Turok
Lightning vs Aloy
The first matchup will be the battle of the Princesses. Peach will take on Zelda and both will have a Chao as their companion. You have minutes to strategize and your heat will begin.
Each companion will have a downfall that comes with their help. Not only do the competitors need to gain the most points, but they have to keep their companion in check. The Chao is by far the easier of the companions and only require constant attention. Which Princess will use their Chao correctly?
Peach and Zelda were neck in neck climbing over the various obstacles however, Zelda pulled ahead right at the end. Peach had to tend to her Chao who is seemingly afraid of heights and wouldn’t move at one point. When Zelda was climbing she held her Chao in a sling that was pressed against her chest. It shielded the Chao from looking down. During the riding phase Zelda took an early lead but Peach pulled off some impressive jumps over the hurdles. Peach held her Chao on her lap while Zelda placed the Chao bare skinned on the horse. After a few bumps her Chao was screaming and squirming to get off. She missed the next 2 jumps. In the final challenge Peach beamed most of her opponents with direct hits. Guess all that time in Mario Party Paid off. Zelda was impressive shooting each of her targets quickly and using the Chao to hand her the arrows to reload quickly.
Bowser vs Nemesis had to be the most intense match of the night. Both competitors have tempers and they were letting them flare on the course. During the climbing phase both contestants growled and snarled at each other. Nemesis was so distracted by Bowser that he hit his head on the top of the cliff. During the riding challenge both mounts stumbled over and the contestants had to finish on foot. Nemesis had the advantage here with his athletic abilities surpassing that of Bowser. In Archery many of the targets were missed because each contestant fired at the other. Both ended the triathlon with arrows stuck on their person. The oddest part of the match. Both contestants forgot to bring their Chao and had to do it all over again!
This heat was an interesting one. Both Spyro and Shadow used their strengths to their advantage. During the climbing phase, Shadow was the first to the top by a few seconds. The riding phase was contested heavily by Spyro who used his wings to temper and steady his mount. The archery phase seemed evenly matched between the 2. Both handled their Chaos perfectly.
Jensen vs Snake was a very evenly matched heat. During climbing the backgrounds of both competitors came through with each posting the fastest time of all of the heats so far. During the rding phase, Jensen seemed more equipped to handle his mount and edged a lead. During archery Jensen pulled out another impressive performance, must not have been his first time.
Kratos and Marcus is the match that the other contestants are watching closely. Both are leaders in their own right and both contestants have a tough exterior. Marcus was surprisingly overpowered on the climbing, but what else can you expect from a demigod. Kratos easily scaled the big mountain while using his companion to toss rocks at the persistent Fenix. During the riding challenge Marcus fought hard but was still out done by the Olympian. Archery is where the former Gear pulled his act together and rivaled Kratos with his fast reaction times and keen accuracy.
Marcus: Compliments of the Torque Bow!
Duke Nukem seemed like an odd match-up until Sonya took off up the mountain. Her training attire had the bad boy of doom seemingly hypnotized and she was able to scale the mountain minutes before Duke. Aware of her advantages, Sonya seemed to lean a bit more forward during her horse riding. Sensing he was losing, Duke snapped out of it and wrestled with his horse to put up a fast and clean time. During archery, Duke was focused on one thing… winning. He quickly shot at the targets taking off a head here, an arm there. He was putting on a clinic… yet Sonya came out swinging as well. Without hesitation she reloaded her bow and hit the targets just above center.
The oddest heat of the day was between Peppy and Diddy. Peppy shouted out nonsense for 5 minutes at the start of the climb that had Diddy scratching his head. Coincidence or ingenious plan. As expected Diddy ascended to the top of the mountain before Peppy could get 5 feet off of the ground. Diddy posted the fastest time of the night, even with the slow start. During the riding competition the clumsy Peppy wobbled back and forth on his mount and even rode backwards. Diddy was too distracted by Peppy’s antics to see the last hurdle that was clipped and fell to the floor. With the penalty, somehow Peppy pulled out the win. During archery the old rabbit must have remembered days in his youth among the starcraft because he was talking to Starfox the entire time. Diddy tried his best to keep up but this event in accuracy and shooting was the rabbits forte’. He knew the course front and back and sinked arrows consistently in the heart of each target.
Our MVP Masterchief took on former captain of the red team Turok. Both contestants battled hard on the climbing phase but without the use of zero gravity Chief could not keep up with Turok. During the riding phase both contestants decided to sit their Chaos on their laps while completing the hurdles. Both did so with grace and skill but Turok came out on top again. In the final archery Challenge we expected Chief to win, but Turok’s experience excelled and he took the match 3-0.
Lightning vs Aloy was the last match of the night and boy did they put on a show. Both ladies excelled at the climbing challenge matching grit for grit. On the riding challenge Aloy took the lead but Lightning caught up when she directed her Chao to throw mud at her opponent. In Archery Aloy was the victor. Lightning was right behind her with 3 pts separating them.
The Winner of this week’s challenge is….
Turok used his known survival skills to totally crush the challenge. He didn’t put up the fastest time in the challenge but he was perfect in archery and had the fastest time on the riding challenge. This week Turok will have the MVP perks and he is safe from elimination.
There will be 5 Contestants up for elimination this week. This week 2 contestants will be eliminated and only 1 will be saved by the Twitter Vote. The 5 Contestants up for elimination are:
Welcome to the first elimination of the Gamers House! The challenge winners this week were the Purple Team and the MVP is the team captain Masterchief. Before the elimination let’s find out what perks Masterchief received. Firstly, he received the MVP room which is decorated with video game’s finest memorabilia. Mastechief will have an advantage at the beginning of next week’s challenge as well. Congratulations!
Now let’s get to the players up for eliminations.
Orchid – Orchid was nominated by her team because she didn’t have much participation in the challenge
Diddy Kong – Diddy was nominated for also not having much to do with the challenge
Kratos– Kratos was nominated for being the team captain of the losing team
Nemesis– Nemesis was nominated due to being an intimidating player
The Twitter Instant Save Poll has saved the following contestant:
Kratos From God of War!
So the eliminated contestant will be either Orchid, Diddy Kong or Nemesis.
Over the week the contestants have been getting to know each other and planning on voting to eliminate a contestant. IT’s too bad that the houseguests will not be voting a character out of the house this week. On Thursday night a secret ballot was casted with each character’s pick for the contestant to be eliminated. Before we reveal the results of that ballot, let’s see what events happened over the week.
We were snaked at the end of the challenge and now 2 of my teammates are unjustly paced for elimination. As team captain I take responsibility and have to try and save my team as best as possible. For my game, it would benefit me to get rid of Kratos and Nemesis. Both are going to be difficult opponents in any physical challenge and from my scouting report (basically me playing the games that my competitors were featured in) Kratos is not bad at solving puzzles. He is my number 1 choice for getting rid of.
Tuesday evening I cooked a dinner of Venison, potatoes and greens for my competitors. This is going to be my way to get into the mindset of each individual. Everyone’s guard lowers when we feast. The winning Purple Team boasted about their stolen victory and toasted to each other selflessly. I can’t wait to have the chance to repay the favor.
Turok:Marcus, Chief, great win today. We really did not see that trap coming at all.
Marcus:Yea. Being in the Gears for so long we have to make back-up plans in case it hits the fan. In our case, we were set backed early so we needed a contingency. Sorry it had to be you old boy.
Turok:No worries at all. So what do you think about the contestants up for elimination this week?
Marcus:To be honest, I wouldn’t mind getting rid of that Nemesis character. He’s a tough… well he’s a tough guy.
That was our in. Aloy and I knew that we had to make sure that everyone swung their votes on the terrifying Nemesis. Aloy worked on the women and I worked on the Men. I hope that we have enough votes to save Orchid and Diddy. I won’t fail them again.
Seems like Turok and Aloy have their hands full trying to save their teammates from the Red Team. Let’s check-in and see what the Blue Team has planned.
Snake:Nemesis has to go!
Lightning:What’s wrong Snake? Afraid of a little competition?
Snake:Not at all. But he isn’t competition he is a monster and I would hate to see him in a physical challenge.
Shadow:Sounds like you’re afraid Snake.
Peach:Nemesis is a part of our family just like Kratos. We should try and get rid of someone on the other team.
Lightning:Right but who is more of a threat; Diddy or Orchid?
The Blue Team seems to be thinking the same way as the Red. Which character will be eliminated now that Kratos is saved. Let’s take a look at the votes that were cast.
So the results are 7 votes for Orchid, 3 for Diddy Kong and 5 for Nemesis.
How interesting! The results of the contestants are not the final say, but the contestant eliminated this week will be Orchid!
Orchid is chosen due to the number of votes on both the Twitter Instant Save and votes of the cast members. Also, Orchid did not perform as well as the other contestants in this week’s challenge. We bid you adieu Orchid.
Now we are down to 18 contestants with a double elimination set for next week. Who will prevail and what is the challenge? Tune in Monday to view the Episode Post! Remember you can interact with the show by writing confessional posts during the week for your favorite character and by voting on the Twitter Instant Save! That’s it for the 1st week, enjoy your weekend!
Welcome back to the GamersUnitedGG Video Game Reality House! In the pilot episode, the characters moved into the house, got acquainted and went straight into the first immunity challenge. My name is Luna and I’m one of the Producers that will be covering the entire season of the Reality House! Today we will find out who won the Scavenger Hunt Challenge and see which characters are up for elimination. When we left off, Purple Team was heading into a swampy situation, Blue Team lost their way and Red Team reached the first challenge. Let’s catch up and see what’s going on… Lakitu, take it away!
After 10 minutes of sludging through the swamps, Team Purple finally came out to a lake where they could see the first obstacle and the Red Team halfway finished. Too bad the lake is in the middle of the course! Now our competitors will have to expend more energy to make it to the beginning of the course. Spyro lifts Sonya over the lake while Marcus picks up Peppy and carries him to the other side. Jensen and Master Chief makes it over with no problem and they head to the start of the obstacle.
Peppy:Don’t go to fast, Falco!
Marcus:We’re here rabbit. Don’t get your panties in a bunch.
Jensen:I’ve been studying the course, we should be able to get across the first 2 obstacles fine. It’s the trapeze wire that has me worried.
Sonya:Do the rules say that we have to touch the wire?
Marcus:What are you thinking doll?
Sonya:I was thinking that we could use some logs to make a bridge. That way we can all make it over safely. We’d have to take the logs with us though.
Marcus:Done! Me and Chief will carry the logs with us. The rest of you worry about keeping your balance on the first obstacle.
Jensen:Looks like we’re not alone.
The Blue Team finds their way to the course with Lightning and Snake at the helm. The team looks fresh and not nearly as tired as the Purple Team.
Lightning:We’d better get a move on. Shadow get across that beam with her Highness.
The dark hedgehog swoops up the Princess and speeds across the beam without tilting.
Lightning: Actually, that’s not a bad idea. Hey Shadow! Think you can take Snake and Nemesis?
Shadow nods and speeds to his next teammate. Before he could lay a hand on Nemesis, the beast snarls and walks across himself. Kratos and Snake take the creature’s lead.
Lightning:Men, pfft. Thanks anyway Shadow.
Shadow gives Lightning a thumbs up before speeding back across making it to the wall before the 3 men could. Lightning gracefully takes her turn and runs across the beam.
Kratos:Snake, I’ll boost you up the wall first so that you can help the others.
Kratos positions his back against the wall bending down slightly with his fingers interlocked and palms facing upwards. With a nod to his teammate, Snake runs and jumps off of Kratos hands to grab the top of the 10ft wall. He easily pulls himself up.
Snake:Ready for the next one!
In order Lightning, Shadow, Peach and Nemesis make it up the wall with their teammate’s help. Snake and Lightning both extend their hands to help Kratos up but the god leaps with intent and lands firmly behind the group.
Kratos:Shall we continue?
Lightning:Not bad Kratos. I can see how you stormed Olympus.
Kratos:Piece of cake.
By this time the Red Team has already built a raft and made it to the key on the other side. Their lead is increasing. Blue Team finishes 2nd and Purple Team finishes last. Hopefully they can catch up at the next challenge.
Marcus:Hey dragon. Make sure we’re not at the end of the challenge next time.
Spyro huffs at the former Gear but without an excuse he takes off again to scout the best route for his team.
Peppy:You’re becoming more like your father.
Marcus:Huh? You know nothing about me or my father rabbit. Let’s get going.
Marcus picks up the old bunny and the team walk seemingly defeated through the forest.
Turok:Good job team! The last checkpoint is just ahead and then we can hunt the prey which is where we will excel.
Duke: I knew this team was going to kick some major A….
Aloy: Woah there Cowboy. This is a family friendly show.
Orchid and Diddy Kong are swinging through the trees when Orchid calls out.
Orchid: I see the last checkpoint. It’s maybe half a mile away.
The party rejoice and speed towards the checkpoint. When they arrive the golden key opens a box that has a map and a riddle.
“You may think this clue is absurd, but to catch your prey you’ll need dessert. Don’t be fool by fake news, this turtle is not slow or easy to choose.”
The party looks disturb.
Turok:What is it Duke?
Duke:This riddle is hilarious. It’s that overgrown turtle Bowser. That’s who we’re hunting. It’s why he was missing this morning and no one seemed the wiser. Hahahahaha
Diddy Kong laughs along with Duke while the others start preparing their traps.
Aloy:I guess we’re hunting one of our own. Let’s get to it.
An open field is just beyond the last checkpoint and red team begins the hunt.
Spyro returns and points the team in the direction of the last checkpoint. Once again thw team arrives to see Blue Team running towards the field. Another step behind.
Masterchief opens the box and reveals the final challenge.
Masterchief:we’re behind but we can do this. All we have to do is catch the prey and be the first to make it back to the finish line.
His team is exhausted but Sonya steps forward.
Sonya:Well we just have to be the team that crosses the finish line with the prey. She gathers the team close and starts detailing a plan of attack. For the first time since the start, Purple team looks to be on the same page.
Bowser:This is not what I meant by being a contestant on the show. How dare you use me as the prey. This is outrageous.
A plastic arrow shoots through the air just missing Bowser. A second one swooshes by and Bowser blows his flames to disintegrate it.
Bowser:You’re not going to catch me this easily.
The koopa king runs into the brush.
The Blue Team catches up and surrounds the prey. Shadow speeds around him causing a distraction while Kratos and Nemesis prepare to battle.
Kratos:Give up Bowser. We have the place surrounded.
Bowser raises his hands in the air before blowing a massive flame towards Kratos. The god of war blocks the flames with his arms and nemesis grabs the prey holding him back. Princess Peach comes out with Lightning at her side.
Peach:Dont hurt him! He will come with us quietly wont ya big boy 😉
Bowser’s rough demeanor changes and he softens to the princess.
Both the Blue and Red team battle back and forth between capturing the prey from each other. The Purple team is no where in sight.
The Red Team approaches the finish line with Bowser and finds their way into a swamp. Before they could blink Orchid charges out of the bushes and grabs the net Bowser is carried in. She hands it off to Masterchief while Zelda use a spell raise the red team in the air. The Purple Team runs towards the finish line and wins the first challenge.

Hmm… I’m the first to arrive. I guess the rest of the field doesn’t value being on time. If this is their level of effort on the first day, I’m sure I can make it to the finale. This Castle is nice. Hyrule is just another land that I have saved while fighting off the covenant, the flood and any other species threatening Earth. I guess this sign means I should get to the ballroom.
Mastechief walks through the foyer into the ballroom cleverly marked “CONTESTANTS MEET HERE.” He passes a box of oranges that seem displaced and open the 2 giant doors to take his seat. Shortly after his arrival, other famed video game characters entered into Hyrule Mansion all with the eagerness to prove that they are the best video game character of all time.
The room is crowded as the contestants look each other over and engage in conversation about the video games each character comes from.
*Cue the host*
Welcome Contestants to Hyrule Castle and week 1 of the Video Game Reality House! This competition will be one of social prowess and competitive spirit. The large 70 inch tv that we had installed shows Professor Oak from Pokemon!
I’m sorry I am unable to greet you in person but being a Professor and connoisseur of knowledge doesn’t take me far from my laboratory. No worries. I will be happy to explain and host all of your events. I see that you all have gotten a chance to know each other, but I do need to go over some house rules.
No Weapons – ClapTrap be a good ole boy and collect the weapons that our friends Masterchief, Marcus, Duke and all other contestants have on them
You cannot leave the castle grounds without permission
All communication with the outside world is prohibited
After a daunting list of rules and regulations, the Prof seemed perplex.
“We seemed to be missing someone…”
Bowser and his friend Spyro burst into the room. They take their place towards the middle of teh room where the moonlight seems to hit like a spotlight.
“You can’t start the festivities without us!” Bowser huffs
The rest of the room seemed intimidated for a moment but then Marcus Fenix broke the silence.
“You should really be on time. For an overgrown turtle, you really live up to your predisposition. I hope you’re not this slow if we have a race, surely you will fail and be eliminated on the spot.” Marcus takes a giant drag of his cigar.
“Why you fool. Do you have any idea who I am? I am King Koopa and the most fearsome creature…”
“Oh I forgot a rule. No smoking Mr Fenix. We’re going to need you to put that out.” Professor Oak interrupts.
“I don’t have a problem with that. But hot head over her will likely need a reminder.” Marcus flicks his cigar towards Bowser before it is incinerated by Spyro. Looks like those 2 are in for a rivalry.
During the debate Duke notices another box of oranges in the back of the room.
“Looks like we have a shy one guys.” He picks up an apple from the fruit bowl in the center of the dining table and tosses it with force at the box. The apple explodes on contact after tilting the box and revealing the combat boots of another competitor.
“That’s not nice.” The voice calls beneath the box. Solid Snake stands up and tosses the box aside. “You’ve blown my cover.” He wipes off his shoulders and pulls a redwood chair from the dining table. Turning the chair backwards Snake sits and joins in the competition. Duke smirks and signals for Professor Oak to continue.
“Tomorrow will be the first Event and 4 characters will be up for elimination at the end of the week. You will need to…”
“I’m here!” Princess Peach enters the room with the scent of roses and perfume trailing her. She’s in a traditional pink Ballgown that cascades onto the floor and her assistant Toad is right behind her with can only be described as a mountain of luggage.
“Ahh Princess, I’d wondered where you got to. Our cameras show you checking in well over an hour ago.”
“I have to make an entrance of course. If you’re the first to the party then you are not that important.” she smiles. “Would anyone offer me a seat?”
The entire cast of men jump out of their seat and start offering their seats as if they were selling real estate to the Princess.
“I have the couch which is nice and comfy for her highness” “ I have a chair that’s closest to the fireplace.” The room echoed on until the last contestant entered the room…
The attention on the Princess quickly shifted when her competition walked in wearing an elegant purple and blue mesh dress. Her crown sat atop of her head and her elven ears stuck out just enough.
“Ah the final contestant. Everyone please welcome Princess Zelda!”
The jaw of Peach dropped as she realized Zelda was the anonymous entry into the house. How she is not the only royalty in the contest and how her game plan needed to shift to compete.
“As I was saying. Tomorrow you will compete in your first event so better get some rest.”
With everyone gathered on the front lawn of Hyrule Castle, the bot ClapTrap begins handing out maps.
Prof Oak: “You will need to match up with your coordinating partners. 3 Captains will be appointed and they will pick their desired team. Today’s challenge will test your teamwork and problem solving skills. It’s a Scavenger Hunt of sorts!” The teams will be Red, Blue, and Purple! Your task is to select a team captain and capture the objective. But this isn’t a normal scavenger hunt. Each of you will be finding items that link up to a puzzle. Solve each puzzle to move on to the next part of the event. There are 3 checkpoints in this race with the last obstacle being finding and returning the target. Once you have completed the last puzzle, it’s a race to capture the target and bring it back to the finish line here. The team to successfully capture the target and return here wins!”
A Win in this challenge provides immunity for the entire team and the team captain will be crowned MVP. The MVP gets access to perks to use throughout the game that will be explained during elimination on Friday. Now pick your teams!
Red Team – Turok, Aloy, Duke Nukem, Orchid, Zelda, Diddy Captain is Turok!
Purple Team – Masterchief, Marcus Fenix, Jensen, Spyro, Sonya, Peppy Captain: Masterchief
“Now that you’re sorted into your teams, take a map and come up with a strategy. The time will start in 5 minutes!”
Duke:Yo, what ever happened to that overgrown turtle?
Turok: We have no time for that. We want to get a win. I picked this team because we all have experience with the wilderness. We should be able to track and catch the prey at the end quicker than any other team. Our downfall may be the puzzles themselves but I can’t imagine they will be too hard to figure out.
Kratos:I built the team around strength whether that’s physical or strength of character. I doubt this will be all scavenging and we may need to lift or perform tasks. Nemesis will be a braun, how do you feel about that sir?
Kratos:That’s the spirit. Reach for the stars everyone
Lightning: I don’t think that’s what he meant. *Peach Snickers*
Masterchief: Most of us have helped saved the world which was the basis in selecting my team. We all have the courage, the brains and the endurance to persevere and that’s exactly what is needed to win this scavenger hunt. Spyro, I want you to take lead and scout out the area around us. Any heads up on the challenges that we are to face would be invaluable.
The purple dragon didn’t speak but nodded in agreement.
Contestants are you ready… set… go!
And they’re off! Lakitu and I are tasked with following the action to bring to you. Each team had their own set of cameras following them with microphones attached.
I’m personally following the Purple Team, but I have visuals on the other contestants with my Ipad.
Spyro lunges into the air and flys ahead on his scouting mission.
Peppy:Never Give Up. Trust Your Instincts
The Purple team have some fit athletes. Jensen and Sonyan take off running, seemingly racing each other while Marcus and Masterchief follow quickly behind with their equipment clanking in the air. Oh and Peppy… Well he’s somehow keeping up.
Spyro returns before long.
Peppy:Do a barrel roll!
Ignoring his senile teammate, Spyro points in a direction off the beaten path. Maybe it’s a shortcut, but the team halts in bewilderment.
Marcus:Well don’t sit on your butts, let’s get a move on. Obviously this is the best path to the first objective or the little dragon wouldn’t point it out. Pull up your diapers and let’s go. I have no intention of losing the first challenge.
Marcus takes the lead into the swampy area with his team promptly behind him.
The Blue Team is making a run for it with Nemesis and Lightning clearing the brush ahead. Shadow, Kratos and Snake push ahed of the pack with their speed and maneuvering to make headway but it looks as though the team has gotten lost.
I take a look at my tablet to see that the first team has reached the checkpoint. The Red team captained by Turok has arrived. No doubt the team cooperated together to use their tracking skills to reach the checkpoint. The challenge is an obstacle course straight out of American Ninja Warrior where a gold key hangs at the end of the course. Zelda reads the rules. Contestants must run through a maze of challenges to reach the finish line. Once each member of the team has completed the challenge, the key can be collected and they can continue to the next checkpoint.
The first part of the course requires conpetitors to traverse a balance beam, once across there is a 10 ft wall that needs to be scaled. At the top of the wall, teams will make their way across a trapeze wire and jump into a lake. Each team must then get each team member across the water and once they do, they can retrieve the golden key. How well does each character know each other? What strengths will prevail here? With a lead on the competition will the Red Team claim the first victory?
Tune in tomorrow for the conclusion of the first Episode!
We are less than a week away from the premier of the Video Game Reality House Season 1, set to take place on Monday October 1st. After all of the interviews and video game characters looking to make a name for themselves, we have narrowed down our competitors and today, they will be revealed. As an added bonus, we have some of the interviews from characters that were rejected.
Luigi – So Mario was too busy for the show. When Luigi heard the plumber would not be able to attend, he graciously offered to take his place. The problem is that Luigi’s interview was BORING! Anything he talked about revolved around Mario and pasta. We don’t want the other contestants to fall asleep so we had to decline his interest. Don’t worry, we offered him a role on the production team instead.
Doomguy- The interview with the Doomguy was umm… interesting. He didn’t speak at all and damaged our offices in the process. During out interview Doomguy would pull out his gun and shoot at the monsters that somehow got past our security protocols. Our location is Hyrule Castle, I can’t imagine returning it to the royal family with holes in the walls.
Niko Bellic – See we had high hopes for Niko but during his interview his bad boy persona turned out to be a little much. We have the safety of the contestants to think about. It didn’t help either that after Niko’s interview a few company vehicles and electronics went missing. He’s too much of a liability to have on hand and quite frankly, he scares me. What happens if her gets eliminated.. I’m not going to be the one to tell him.
Pac Man- Probably one of the saddest rejections was for Pacman. He wasn’t invited to interview but somehow he caught wind of the show and demand an interview. Pacman is trying to revive his career and become relatable for the new generation of gamers. The problem is that Pacman really doesn’t have any abilities to help him in this contest, other than his insatiable hunger. A silver lining, we asked Pacman to come back next year with a few of his Ghost friends. That would make an interesting show.
These are the characters that will be entering the house on Monday. Tune in to read Episode 1 where our first challenge will allow the house guests to get to know each other better. Don’t forget, you will be able to participate by posting why your favorite character should advance to the next round and by voting on Twitter for the Instant Save on Wednesday Next Week! Have a great weekend!
Hello Umm… King Koopa. It’s nice to meet you in person.
Well of course it is Bwahahaha. Bowser Jr told me about this reality show and you can’t have a reality show without a top character like myself.
I’ve heard that before. Actually I was going to ask you to be a part of the Reality House…
Of course you were. Me and my associate here were waiting for our calls to grace your house with competition, intrigue and good looks.
Umm who is your associate?
*A purple dragon, smaller than Bowser but just as intimidating walks into the rooms with his wings at bay*
Surely you know Spyro! He’s an acquaintance of mines and very capable of being in the competition.
This is interesting. We did not have Spyro on our list of possible competitors but he looks like he will cause quite a stir.
So tell me Bowser, why would Spyro be a good fit for the show?
The giant turtle king huffs at my mundane questions.
Just look at him! Spyro is built for competition. He’s fast, agile can fly and my personal favorite he doesn’t take crap from anybody. He’s as fiery as he is strong. I’m sure your ratings will soar as high as Spyro does.
*The purple dragon bends to his hind legs, blasts smoke in the air before taking flight around the room.*
Perhaps a demonstration is in order! Bowser huffs again. He takes out round discs that have an oddly familiar appearance and tosses them in the air. Spyro circles the room and spits fire at each disc disintegrating each one which precision.
*Next Bowser gestures for myself and the crew to back up. We inch as close to the back wall as we can. What happened next was a sight for sore eyes. Bowser built up air in his lungs, huffing and puffing along before exhaling and sending 4 giant smoke rings into the air. Spyro barrel rolls through the air and clears each ring successfully before circling back and shooting fireballs in between each ring. This settles it, Spyro is in! His performance mixed with his need for mischief makes him a perfect candidate.*
You’ve convinced us Bowser, Spyro is in! Now about your interview, well we want….
Say no more. I accept your proposal and will gladly enter and win the Video Game competition. Who else can be as brutal in challenges, as intimidating in house votes and as handsome as I to become champion? Definitely not any low life plumbers I tell you that. Now our time is valuable and Spyro and I have to prepare for the competition. We will see you on October 1st!
Wait, but you don’t understand….
And they’re gone. Yes, we want Bowser in the show but he has no idea what role we have in store. Oh well, should make for great television!
That’s settled we have Bowser and Spyro entering into the Reality House. There’s 3 days left to submit your video game characters to be casted into Season 1 of the Video Game Reality Show! You can review the details and rules by clicking here!
Who would you like to see in the house? What plans do you think we have in store for Bowser? Who will turn up next? Stay tuned for more unveilings this week and make sure to catch Episode 1 on Monday October 1st!
