Elimination Chamber Results!

Happy Monday Superstars! Last night was the RAW Brand Exclusive Elimination Chamber event which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada! We seen a few “1sts” in the event and overall I thought RAW put on a great (albeit predictable) show! Let’s jump into the matches and results and if you haven’t watched the event yuet, this if your official **Spoiler Alert, Spoiler Alert!**

Raw Women Elimination Chamber Match-

elim5

Both Elimination chamber matches were great but the show kicked off with the 1st ever Women’s Elimination Chamber match. The Superstars were locked in the Chamber with 2 women starting and the 4 locked in pods. Every 5 minutes a random pod would open to allow another competitor in the match. This was elimination rules and the winner left Las Vegas with the Raw Women’s Championship belt! The Superstars participating were Bayley, Sasha Banks, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James! The Women put on a great show using the cage well to their advantage. You know a match is good if you’re afraid to look at some of the stunts performed. Bayley and Sonya Deville started the match with the other 4 ladies locked in the pod. 1 by 1 they started entering into the match. Leading up to the match we knew that Bayley and Sasha Banks, Mandy Rose and Sonya and Alexa and Micki were in their respective “alliances.” Most of the Superstars teamed up to give themselves the best opportunity to win.

Mandy Rose was eliminated first with the Banks Statement, putting her Absolution sister at a disadvantage. The ladies were scaling to new heights, literally and making a great match. elim6

Results: Alexa Bliss Retains her championship, with an oscar worthy performance with her promo at the end!

Raw Tag Team Titles –

Next up was the tag team championship match where The Bar Sheamus and Cesaro took on Titus O’Neill and Apollo Crews. I didn’t watch much of this match so I can’t comment on the execution.

Results: Sheamus and Cesaro Retain

Nia Jax versus Asuka –

elim4

This match was set up to allow Asuka and Nia to duke it out. If Nia wins, she is entered into the Women’s Championship match at Wrestlemania, if Asuka wins her undefeated streak continues and she has her 1 on 1 match at Wrestlemania. Asuka was quick, agile and hard striking and Nia was her dominant self tossing Asuka around the ring at times. The match went pretty much the way I expected but it was good none the less.

Results: Asuka wins.

Bray Wyatt versus Matt Hardy

Another match that I wasn’t interested in at all. Sad to say but I hope Jeff returns soon.

Results: Matt Hardy Wins.

Ronda Rousey Contract Signing-

ronda

So you knew something was going to happen when it was announced that a live contract signing would take place with the “Baddest Woman on the Planet.” I was expecting a locker room protest, attack from behind, something to get the adrenaline moving. Sure enough you see Kurt Angle very distraught and HHH trying to calm him down. Then it happens, Kurt spills the beans that Stephanie McMahon and HHH are manipulating Rousey which didn’t bode well for the UFC former champion. She puts HHH through a table and her whole demeanor changes!

It looks like the Stone Cold versus Vince McMahon but the Women’s version with Ronda taking on Stephanie McMahon. Really excited to see what happens on RAW.

Men’s Elimination Chamber Match-

elim

This was my favorite match of the night. For the first time, 7 Superstars were placed in the Elimination Chamber with 3 starting and 4 in pods. The competitors were Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Elias Samson, The Miz and John Cena. Seth, Miz and Finn started which was a good starting line up. Miz was up to his usual antics trying to team up with Seth versus Finn and when the architect declined, offering his alliance to Balor. The first few minutes were entertaining with Miz being tossed around while Balor and Seth fight. The highlight was Balor and Rollins taking turns knocking Miz back down when he tried to get to his feet. The match was really good and became even better when the 6th Superstar, Braun Strowman was released into the chamber.

As expected everyone tried to team up but Braun demolished the field single handedly eliminating most of the competitors. At one point Braun was hit with the AA from Cena, Spear from Reigns, Curb Stomp from Rollins and the Coup de Gras from Balor to lay mangled outside of the ring. Too bad no one could move him back in and PIN HIM!!!! The final match-up was of course Braun versus Roman.

Results: Roman Reigns is Brock Lesner’s opponent at Wrestlemania.

Highlights:

  • The costumes from some of the Superstars.
  • The stare downs of the competitors locked in the chamber pods
  • Good executions and promos

So I was pretty pleased with the Pay Per View event and the performances of the Superstars. As I started watching pretty late, I did skip 2 matches that I didn’t have any interest in but the main matches were really good. Once again I am amazed at the talent and depth of the Women’s Division and I can’t wait to see the fallout of the event tonight on RAW. Have you watched Elimination Chamber? What were your favorite moments? What do you think will happen now leading into Wrestlemania? Let’s talk WWE!

WWE Payback Preview!

Happy Saturday Novas and Geeks! This Sunday April 30th, 2017 will be the Raw Exclusive PayPerView Payback! This will be the first network special after the incredible Wrestlemania 33 Spectacle and I’m very excited. As a brief recap after Wrestlemania this year we had a Superstar Shakeup between Raw and Smackdown. I think that the trades made improved both shows and I have been watching Raw ANDDDDD Smackdown ever since it took place. One of my favorite trades were Dean Ambrose coming to Raw (Possible Shield Reunion Please 🙂 ). Let’s preview the matches and I will provide my predictions.

Neville vs Austin Aries-  pay4 The Neville vs Austin Aries match will be the rematch for the Cruiserweight Championship. At Wrestlemania you know that Neville (who is a heel character) won the match by unscrupulous means (he raked the eyes of Aries).  I believed Aries would have won that match so I’m going with Aries again. The only thing that could ruin my predctions would be the sudden “Heel” turn of T.J. Perkins. I wouldn’t be surprised if he interferred. For predictions sake I will stay with my prediction of Austin Aries becoming your new Crusierweight Champion!

Bayley vs Alexa Bliss-  pay2 This match will be a title match for the Raw Women’s Championship! Alexa Bliss came from Smackdown and won the number 1 contender’s match to challenge Bayley in her home town of San Jose, CA. I loveeeee Alexa Bliss and I love Bayley so this match should be a really good one. I have to say that I do not want Bayley to lose right now but I just have this feeling that she will (please Sasha don’t betray her yet lol). Alexa is smart, tough and willing to do whatever it takes to win. It’s a wildcard prediction for me but I’m taking Alexa Bliss in this match!

Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman-   pay Braun Strowman  demolished Reigns a few weeks ago. Yes we know Reigns had to take some time off for a family tragedy and we know that Braun didn’t really throw him off the stretcher  onto the concrete, but it was still pretty entertaining. I’m going with Roman Reigns winning this match.

Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho-   pay1 This match up between Ex- Best Friends Kevin Owens (Champion) and Chris Jericho. The fallout between the 2 happened after Fastlane when Goldberg defeated Owens to take the Universal Championship. As we all knew, KO turned on Jericho when he didn’t need him to protect his championship anymore. KO took that as a chance to dump his friend and take what Jericho possessed; the United States Championship. This one is tough to call but I’m going with Jericho winning and moving to Smackdown.

The Hardy Boyz vs Sheamus & Cesaro-  pay3 I haven’t found a person in the WWE Universe yet who hasn’t appreciated the Hardy Boyz’ triumphant return to the WWE. I really love the team of Cesaro and Sheamus and then of course the Hardyz. This match is hard to call but I really doubt the Hardyz will lose the titles already. What I predict will happen is that the team of Cesaro and Sheamus will turn “Heel.” If you’ve been watching Raw, after the match between these 2 teams they shook hands in a sportsman like manner. No way that’s happening at Payback! I think it’s just a storyline to turn 1 team heel, in this case I think it will be Cesaro and Sheamus. My winners are still the Hardy Boyz.

Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt-  pay5 I’m really looking forward to this House of Horrors Match! Yes Randy Orton is on Smackdown, however, Bray Wyatt was moved over to Raw which makes this match possible. The feud between Wyatt and Orton has been entertaining and it culminates with the first ever “House of Horrors Match.”  I do not think this is a title match so I believe Bray will win. If it is a title match then Randy Orton would have to win as the title can’t switch to Raw.

Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe-  pay6 The Architect Seth Rollins has been feuding with The Destroyer Samoa Joe after Triple H commissioned the assassin to attack Rollins before Fastlane earlier this year. The Kingslayer has already beaten Triple H and I expect him to lay the Smackdown on Samoa Joe as well. This one is a no brainier for me, never bet against Seth FREAKIN’ Rollins lol.

These are my predictions for the Pay Per View. I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend and thank you for reading! What do you think will happen? Do you agree with my predictions? Let’s talk Payback!

My Top 5 WWE Pay Per View Events!

Hiya friends and wrestling fanatics! This post is spontaneous as I did not intend to write it, but do to my love of WWE and the Royal Rumble Pay Per View event I’ve made an executive decision to make a discussion post (Thanks to Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek‘s inspiring post!). This discussion post will go over my top 5 WWE events and why I personally think they’re the best, then I will open up the discussion for community comments and opinions. Let’s get to it starting from my bottom, yet still favorite event!

5) Extreme Rules! – Extreme rules makes my top 5 because it’s an awesome pay per view that pretty much incorporates “Hardcore” rule sets (oh how I miss there being a Hardcore Title 😦 ).hqdefault Typically Superstars will challenge each other to crazy matches featuring chairs, pins count anywhere and crazier terms such as last year’s Asylum match featuring the Lunatic Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho. Only Dean Ambrose could think of having a match with different asylum props and thumbtacks! 184_rules_05222016mm_1342-e74bb779b84bfb36e30b4b56891db72a Yes, we know the WWE is “Scripted” but those thumbtacks look like they’d hurt lol. Extreme rules can bring a different dynamic to watching a WWE match and I love the surprises that are included. You know what happens when I’m entertained, do you? Extreme Rules…. YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!

4) The Pay Per View event that I would personally rank 4th is going to surprise a lot of people, but I have my reasons. I would put Wrestlemania here. I know, I know, Wrestlemania is the marquee event and should be higher up but from the past few years, while I have enjoyed Wrestlemania, it just hasn’t (in my opinion) lived up to the hype. With that said, I’m not an idiot and Wrestlemani is awesome and still makes the list. I’m admitting straight away that I am bias so my favorite Wrestlemania moment may be a jab to the throat for some lol. 5pvqdx My favorite Wrestlemania moment was hearing the music of the Architect, Seth Rollins and seeing him run towards the ring with his Money In The Bank briefcase (Usain Bolt couldn’t catch him that day!). I was a fan of Rollins before it was the accepted thing to be and everything he did (with or without help) was entertaining. Wrestlemania has provided some of my favorite moments like watching Ronda Rousey intimidate Stephanie Mcmahon or Stone Cold dancing with the New Dayaustinxavier-0-0 . You know, before the Stunner lol.

3) My number 3 position will be given to the Royal Rumble. This event has been around for years and is an awesome way to see all of your favorite Superstars go at it in an  all out brawl. The Royal Rumble always features other matches (This year being 3 Championship matches) yet the main event, the Rumble itself is what we fans look forward to. Last year I was fortunate enough to attend the Royal Rumble in Orlando and it was fantastic! Being in the live atmosphere, counting down the seconds until to the next Superstar is revealed, ajhearing the eerie silence as we wait for the music to start playing and then erupting out of our seats once we knew who was entering was the best part of seeing the event live. We went crazy for AJ Styles last year! The great thing about the Rumble is that you may know who is entered into the match, but you can never predict in which order Superstars are going to emerge. The anticipation and over the top eliminations makes the Royal Rumble Sheer “Phenomenal!”

2) Number 2 of the list is going to be another shocker for readers and WWE fans as I am going to rank Summer Slam above Wrestlemania. Honestly, Summer Slam has been one of my favorite WWE Events the last 3 years.

In 2016 an incredible match between Finn Balor and Seth Rollins took place and before that Rollins versus Cena in my opinion was a better match then Lesner versus the Undertaker. Yes, I know that my favorite moments seem to feature Seth Rollins, but let’s be honest… He’s 100% one of my favorites, if not my favorite current Superstar. Summer slam has been the Wrestlemania for me so I had to rank it pretty high up on the list. So which Pay Per View could this crazy chick have possible selected for her favorite event? thinking-emoticon1) Are you surprised to see Survivor Series at the top of the heap? Well don’t be, I enjoy the traditional 5 on 5 Survivor Series matches and I have always enjoyed them. There’s not much for me to say about Survivor Series, I just enjoy the elimination style of wrestling. (Insert Seth Rollins Comment Here… You knew it was coming lol) I remember before Rollins went out with his injury, he and Reigns put together a team for the 5 on 5 match. It was amazing seeing Reigns come down to the ring, followed by the Usos, Ryback (I miss Ryback 😦 ) and Dean Ambrose. I have to admit, it was the one time I believe that I have rooted against Seth Rollins lol. rawvsmackdown This past Survivor Series with the brand split was amazing as well (but let’s be honest, on paper I think that RAW 100% win that match) lol. Even the RAW before Survivor Series when the Smackdown Live Superstars came through the crowd was awesome! I still die of laughter when Jericho was going down the list and spots James Ellsworth on the side lines “What the heck is that?” Of course I have also enjoyed watching the “Beast” Brock Lesner get “Victimized, Defeated and Conquered” by Goldberg!

Well that wraps up my top 5 WWE Pay Per Views list. What are your Favorites? Do you agree with my list? What are your favorite moments from some of these Pay Per Views? Let’s Talk WWE!

“And that’s why I’m the Champ!”
