Pokemon Go Is Still A Thing? Welp, I’m Hooked!

Happy Thursday Novas! Recently, I have downloaded Pokemon Go again to play with some friends and I find myself sucked back into the black hole that once took over my free time when the mobile game first released. Upon re-downloading the game, I have noticed updates and now I’m in Pokemon Fever! Power up Players for my weekly update post on the Pokemon game!

Where I left off: I was level 7 when I re-downloaded Pokemon Go and I’m not sure how many Pokemon I had in my possession. I have been playing for about a week and I have 192 Pokemon.

New Pokemon:

The Pokemon In My Bedroom lol

After a week of playing I have added a variety of Pokemon to my collection. 57 New types of Pokemon have been caught.

screenshot_2018-03-14-23-28-24.png

Hatched- I hatched 3 eggs who turned out to be Meowth, Magmar and Bellsprout

Best Catch– Growlithe is my best catch of the week. I loveeee Growlithe and I was able to catch 2. Hopefully I can evolve one to Arcanine next week.

Strongest CP- My strongest CP catch was a Rhydon that I caught just before my Wednesday Night softball game. I caught Rhydon in the park where we play by the Activities Center (my brother Kenny and I placed lures on 2 side by side Pokestops and both pop incense to increase the number and frequency of wild Pokemon).

Discovery:

Since I didn’t really pay attention when I was playing Pokemon Go, I wasn’t aware of a few simple rules. I love that different locations and different conditions can affect the type of Pokemon you receive. For example, I live in a heavily populated area so I can catch Pokemon in my room and have 4 or 5 options. The weather, time of day and location will provide you with a variety of Pokemon options. CP is important but catching multiple Pokemon of the same type will give you candies needed to power up or evolve.

How to Battle Gyms– I fought in my first Gym Battle! This week I learned that you can team with other members of your color (Team Red for me) and attack a gym. If you win, everyone on your team can place 1 Pokemon to defend the gym.

Different Berries- The Nan Berry calms down aggressive Pokemon (Chikorita lol) and the Razz Berry makes the Pokemon easier to catch.

Gym Progress:

Roselia Is Holding Down The Fountain!

Defeated Gyms-3 out of 4 attempted Gyms

  Badges – 4 Badges Received

Pokemon Defending # & Type3 Pokemon Defending the Conquered Gyms, 2 Roselia and 1 Eggsecute.

Adventure Updates:

My friend and I have made a decision to go visit different Pokemon Spots like Parks and entertainment areas to evaluate what type of pokemon can be caught. We visited 2 spots this week and were able to rack up on the Pokemon and Poke Stops in the area.

Poke Spots Visited – 3 in total. Barnett Park, Millenia Mall and Artegon Mall.

Best Poke Spot & Why – The best spot this week was Artegon Mall because there are 6 Poke Stops, 1 Gym and 1 Raid within a 5 minute walk. I was able to fill my backpack on the Poke Stops and catch a few Pokemon in the interim.

Unusual Sightings – at the end of our adventure, there was a woman walking with her baby in jogger stroller and playing Pokemon Go! At first we were joking seeing her on her phone and walking, saying that it would be funny if she was playing Pokemon Go. Then she stopped and started rapidly swiping her screen, #Belluminati Confirmed! As we laughed, we couldn’t help but pull out our phones to see what she was trying to catch haha.

Current Eggs & Progress: 8 Eggs. Incubating 3 -10 Km and 1 -5 Km.

Screenshot_2018-03-14-23-28-47.png

Goals for Next Week: My goals for next week is to find a Dratini and evolve my Chikorita into a Bayleef.

That’s all for this week’s post! Are you still playing Pokemon Go? What are some of the best Poke Spots that you have found? Have there been any unusual sightings on your Pokemon Journey? Which Pokemon are your favorite? Who are you looking to catch? Let’s Talk Pokemon Go!

Updates!

Happy Friday Players and Novas!  I hope everything is going well! Today’s post will be a short update on what’s going on with myself and the blog! It’s the Burger of The Day post, if you will lol.

Vacation: Firstly, I’m on vacation lol. I’m currently typing to your from my friends living room (because she’s still asleep) in Illinois. Now I’m a Floridian so being in Illinois when it’s pretty cold to me is crazy. But hey, I promised her that I would visit to go to Six Flags and Fright Night with her (doing that tomorrow). I’m a little skeptical because I am used to the high end Halloween Horror Nights and Howl O Scream events, but I’m sure I’ll have fun either way (If I don’t freeze to death lol).

Patreon: I know I mentioned starting a Patreon account in the Bloggers Thoughts: From Players to Professionals post last week. Well that dream is a reality now. The Patreon Page is live and you can help support the blog if you wanted by clicking here. Also, if you have any ideas for the page I’m happy to hear them!

Upgrades: Does the site look different to you? We received our first sponsored post a few days ago. With the earnings, I upgraded the blog to Premium and now we have access to better themes. It’s a work in progress but I’m upgrading the look and feel of the site (it looks wayyyy better on mobile now). How does the new theme look?

NaNoWriMo – The outline is complete for my story that I’m going to be working on during National November Writer’s Month (NaNoWriMo) and I’m debating on posting snippets of the story here during the month of November. Let me know if that would be a good idea. I’m writing the story of a journal from medievel times, following the life of a royal court and a Princess. The journal’s going to be written from different perspectives as it winds up in a few different character’s possession.

Upcoming Posts: This coming week we will have posts coming out that I have been working hard on.

Saturday 10/21/17 : WWE TLC Preview and Predictions! 20161114_TLC_Logos_rendered--39a157fbe4ce365b2bc8b62f00db7a18

That’s what I have planned this week, assuming that nothing changes at the moment! Are you working on any projects? What do you have scheduled this week? Are you looking forward to any of the posts? Let’s talk!

Luna’s Rankings: RPG Games!

Happy Tuesday Players! It’s time for another one of my rankings for the week! Today we are ranking my top RPG (Role Playing Games) from my least favorite to my favorite! Let’s see who makes the list today! Role Playing games are a staple in the video game world! They allow us to create characters, take on missions and even choose between some morally awkward situations. Each game offers something unique and different, that’s why I am ranking my top games from the RPG games that I have played!

Fable III – Fable III hits the bottom of the list for one reason; I could never finish it!   Fable IIIWhy? Well because this game was horrible, not in design or play through because all of that was great! It was horrible because of the choices that you had to make. You played as a Monarch and you had to overthrow your evil sibling from the throne. This of course now makes you the leader of the realm and you start to see why your brother was making choices that to the outside world seemed cruel. The choices that you make have consequences either way. Let’s just say that sparing a villager who committed a petty crime, could in turn cause hundreds to die. That game sucked just because of the choices lol.

Elder Scrolls Online – ESO is a really great game.  eso  This game takes the magic and wonder of Oblivion and Skyrim and adds in the multiplayer element that I completely love. Elder Scrolls takes on the same premise as all their games in Bethseda’s history, however, now we have factions and we can play with friends. During the midnight release all of my friends selected Aldemeri Dominion to start and we had… well we had difficulty getting into the server that night. I believe we were finally able to log in about 4 hours after the fact. This first impression is probably why ESO fell down in the rankings for me. But once we were in, we were able to have fun until the passion for the game burned out. Although I’m not currently interested in ESO, it is a game that I will always come back to!

Fable – The original Fable started my RPG gaming adventure!  fable  If you read my Evolution of A Gamer post, you will remember that I was gifted with my brother’s Xbox when the Xbox 360 released. Along with the system he gave me a few games and among them was the first Fable game (side not my brother Kenny never played it lol). This was the first game that I completed the story mode by myself! I didn’t ask for my brother’s help and I just grinded it out! The ability to make your own choices in the game and have free range (mostly) to steal or marry was a new development at the time of Fable’s release.

Fable II comes in at the number 3 slot.   fable II  It almost made it to number 1 but I have such fond memories of the game that occupies that ranking on my list. Fable II was an awesome game! I remember getting the game when it released and playing through the story. I loved that you were able to combine spells in this game and the option to select a female character was a bonus. The story was amazing and I had fun just playing side missions or making money as a Pie Maker! Don’t forget about all of the fun of kicking chickens! This game was a bit of a hack though,. When you went to the ton square in Bowerstone you could meet up with your friends (floating as orbs) and give each other money. My one friend gave us all 1 million dollars lol.

Phantasy Star Universe –  psu  PSU was an online MMORPG game that I played with friends back in the Xbox 360 days! This was one of my first experiences with upgrading weapons and grinding missions to receive gear.  I played as a mage class and I would always look for the best spells and staffs in the game. I vaguely remember having this one spell that would cast meteors from my staff. After upgrading it I could morph the move into casting meteors from the sky. I loved PSU because it taught me that the magic you used would be dependent on the type of creature you were facing. Similar to Pokemon, you went farther if you used magical spells that were super effective against the enemy. PSU also gave the added element of customization for not only your character (4th floor of the mall am I right?) but also for your room. I had trophies from defeating  bosses like De-Ragan or my personal favorite the Rappy Statues (they look like chocobos lol).

PSU had it all and I loved the interaction with other players. You could present moves, dances and even phrases.  PSU was an awesome game and I was sad when the servers closed for it.

Oblivion takes the number 1 spot for me because it is the first RPG game that I really delve into.  oblivion  This game set the standard for the Elder Scrolls Game for me and I am so grateful to have discovered it. My fondest memory was being a part of the Fighter’s Guild, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood at the same time. I was running all over the place with the different side missions and contracts that I was to fulfill. Each play-thorugh I would make a Khajit (cat character) and level up my stats for stealth and agility. Needless to say, I’m always a thief or assassin! !  I spent HOURS on Oblivion and I still don’t believe that I completed everything that there was to do. The replay value of this game was amazing, because you could make alternate characters give them different skills.

Those are my rankings for my top RPG Games! What did I miss? What are your favorite RPG’s? Let’s talk Video Games!

Gamer’s Log: Part 3!

Happy Monday Novas and Players! Thank you for tuning into today’s post that will be a log of my current games and progress.

Roblox: Restaurant Tycoon –   restaurant  So with the addition of my new gaming PC I have downloaded and been playing games with it for the past week. If you recall, I did a Hidden Treasures post on the sandbox game Roblox a while back, you can read that post here! This week I started playing the mini game Restaurant Tycoon! Restaurant Tycoon is a game where you can customize and run your own Restaurant.  You have “Ekea” to shop for furnishings and you can hire staff. I started with a British Pub type feel but my restaurant quickly turned into a Family Style dining location! Checkpoint: I’ve completed all of the upgrades so now I’m just paying for fun!

Destiny 2 –   destiny3  So I’m working on my Destiny 2 review and that will be up in a few weeks. The First Impressions post will be up most likely Monday morning. Checkpoint: I’ve completed the story and am working on reaching 270 so that I can play the Raid. Currently, I’m at 250. Also, I’m undefeated in solo Crucible games at the moment. The game is really fun! check out the First Impressions post by clicking here!

Topps WWE Slam Cards- I have been slacking on my WWE trading card game. I log in everyday to collect my free coins, but I haven’t been going after sets like I normally am. Checkpoint: I received a specialty Seth Rollins Card from the No Mercy Pay Per View!!! All is right with the world lol. I also received some cool WWE Zombies cards this past week. If you want to add me to trade cards, my name is Luna26x.

Yugioh: Legacy of the Duelist- I’ve been trying to complete all of the story modes in my Yugioh game! This game is really fun and I’m building different battle packas. I may play online tonight. Checkpoint: about 42% through the Yugioh GX story mode. 2 more to go after this one I believe.

Duelyst –   duelyst-2  This is a new card game that was recommended to me on my Facebook feed. It looks comparable to Smite Tactics where you select a champion and battle using the cards in your hand to defeat the other champion. I’ve played the tutorial and started story mode and this game looks fun so far. Checkpoint: I’ve played a few online battles!

Fortnite –   fortnite-listing-thumb-01-ps4-us-24may17  Fortnite Battle Royale was available to download for free on PS4 so I have been playing. There’s no leveling up or anything unless you purchase the full game, but I’ve quite enjoyed jumping out of the bus and scavenging for goods among 100 other players. First Impressions Post coming later this week! Checkpoint: I’m just playing the Battle Royale mode since the survival mode in the game is unavailable.

Asteroid Challenge –   asteroid-challenge-trailer.mp4  I’m working on an asteroid shooter mobile game review so I have been playing the Asteroid Challenge game on my phone. This game is pretty awesome and I can feel myself slowly sinking deeper, and deeper into the game. Full review will be up later this week. Checkpoint: Battling through Asteroids!

Those are the games that I am currently playing at the moment. Which games are taking up your free time? Do you have any goals for your current games? Let’s talk video games!

Luna’s Rankings: Gears of War!

Happy Tuesday Novas! Last week I started the Luna’s rankings post where I will list my top games in a series or genre and reasons why they were placed in that position. Last week we ranked my top call of duty games and this week we will tackle one of my favorite series:Gears of War! The rankings will be from worst to best so let’s get to it!

Gears of War 2– Gears of War 2 is my least favorite game in the franchise. It’s dunny, I remember the midnight release for this game and how it was amazing… until the first patch. After the first patch (which I didn’t think needed to happen, especially a week after the game releases) playing as Skorge was a hack. Also the smoke grenades, when tagged to an opponent would sometimes glitch you out of the map. But also I didn’t care for the maps that much.

Gears of War Judgement- From my online friends, this was their least favorite game in the series. Personally, I didn’t think the game was bad at all, I just really liked the other games better so this one seems far down the list. I loved the new characters and game modes in judgement as well. The library stage was my favorite.

Gears of War– The original game was super amazing. Since there are only 5 games in the franchise, it may seem like this game is far down the list but it’s no at all. I completely love this game and I have so many memories tied to it. This was one of the first XBOX games I played for 360. Back when I used my brother’s profile and 360 to play. I made so many friends, many of which I still hvae and met in real life. This game is amazing, I can’t stress it enough.

Gears of War 4- This is the current Gears of War game and it’s fantstic! The only reason this game isn’t number 1 in my mind is becuase I’m extremely sad that I can no longer used my Theron Guard. Because of the story, there are no more “Locusts” and therefore the Theron character that I have used across other titles no longer exists. The graphics for this game is awesome and I particularly like the animations with the executions.

Gears of War 3 – Gears 3 is the best game in my mind out of the franchise. This game had everything, game modes, characters, a great story and the online multiplayer was amazing! The feel of the game, the stages, the memories all rank this game number 1 out of the other titles, but I love all of the GOW games (except 2 blahhh).

Those are my rankings! How do you rank the GOW franchise games? what’s your favorite video game franchise? Let’s talk rankings!

Have a great day and Game On!

Story Deck vs User Deck; Yugioh Legacy of the Duelist!

Happy Monday Novas! I hope everyone is being safe if you are affected by Hurricane Irma. I may or may not have power when this post goes live but I’ve tried to preset some posts to go out this week and this is one of them. Saturday night I was playing the Trading Card Game Yugioh Legacy of the Duelist on PS4. I’ve completed the main story and moved on to Yugioh GX which has to deal with fusions and stuff. When I played Yugioh physically, I played the normal version so I had little knowledge on fusions. Because of my ignirance, I decided to use the story mode decks for most of my battles; Big Mistake!!!! The story line decks are fine but some of the character’s setups are just plain annoying to play with. I know, I know that the premise is to teach you to adapt to your situation and such, but I like action! Some decks are passive like this one deck that was 98% trap and spell cards!!!!! I mean I won the duel after I was finally able to steal monster’s from my opponent (thank you monster reborn lol) but what if I couldn’t kill my opponent’s monsters??? I would have been a sitting duck lol.

So that experience prompted this discussion post. Do you use the story mode decks in TCG’s or do you make your own custom decks?

In the main story line, I made custom decks because I was familiar. My custom deck pretty much tore through any opponent that I was up against. It was pretty funny because playing online with my friends I was destrying as well. I highly recommend the Amazoness Deck build rofl. This deck can play against any normal deck pretty well, fusion decks will be your downfall but you can still put up a great fight. Let’s go through some of my favorite cards in this custom deck.

AmazonessTiger-LCJW-EN-UR-1E
Doesn’t he remind you of Shere Khan from the Jungle Book?

Amazoness Tiger – This card is targeted first out of all Amazoness monsters on the field. This card also gets a buff of 400 ATK (attack) points per each Amazoness on the field! Can you see how this tiger can be devastating for an opponent? It starts with 1100 ATK and 1500 DEF (Defense).

AmazonessScouts-LCJW-EN-C-1E
The first card I’ve seen that can negate Mirror force!!!

Amazoness Scouts – The scouts have very low ATK and DEF points. So why are they useful? That’s because some cards can have special effects. During either player’s turn: You can Tribute this card; this turn, face-upAmazonessmonsters you currently control cannot be targeted by monster effects, and cannot be destroyed by card effects. This card is amazing!!! You can block and effect for your tribe, sooo bye bye  Mirror Force! I always have at least 2 scouts in my deck.

AmazonessQueen-DREV-EN-SR-1E

Amazoness Queen– With the Queen, any Amazoness monsters that you control cannot be destroyed by battle. You can have a full lineup firing away at your opponent until they’re pretty much frced to pull out like a black hole card to destroy ALL monsters on the field.

Some of my favorite Amazoness trap and spell cards are:

QueensPawn-DREV-EN-C-1E
Can’t get rid of them all!

Queen’s Pawn– This trap card allows you to summon a level -4 amazoness monster when your amazoness in play destroys an opponent’s monster.

AmazonessVillage-LEDU-EN-C-1E
This card is LIT!!!

Amazoness Village– This is a spell card that allows you to buff all Amazoness monsters by 200 ATK. You’re also able to Special Summon an Amazoness monster equal to the Amazoness destroyed by battle or card effect.

As you can see, the Amazoness deck build provides a lot of versatility and can pack a punch if played correctly. The downside of this deck is that while you can gain ATK power quite quickly, the levels cap out quickly and typically before 3000 ATK. That’s why its crucial that you do not use this deck against fusion decks that can have average monsters of 3000 ATK or higher. If you attack quickly and with strategy, you can even defeat fusion decks but it’s going to be difficult. That’s why I add in a few high level monsters that can pack a punch!

So what type of strategies do you use in TCG’s? Do you play Yugioh, Magic or any trading card games? Do you prefer to use the story deck or a custom deck? Let’s talk trading card games!

Have a fantastic day!

Luna’s Q & A!

Happy Saturday Novas! Last week on the 300 Followers Post I asked for questions that you would like for me to answer on this Question and Answer post! I’m going to answer a few common questions that always come up and questions from you all! Let’s get to it!

Common Questions:

  • How did you get into blogging? Funny story, I was getting ready to start up the gaming website again that I had active for about a year. Once thing that was missing from the site last time was the constant and easy integration of gaming news. I found that WP works great so I thought that I would create a blog and link it to the website. But then something crazy happened, I enjoyed blogging wayyy more than running a website and voila! You’re stuck with me now lol.
  • How do you find inspiration to blog consistently? It’s not easy. At first I couldn’t find a balance and I would run out of ideas. After reading other bloggers and talking to people that write, I picked up the habit of writing down my thoughts and ideas in a journal (as well as a memo pad on my phone). Along with these ideas I would write a short description. If I couldn’t stop everything and write at that moment, I could always return to my handy notes. Another handy tip is when I get into a creative mode, it lasts for a while. I drop everything and start writing up posts. If I finish one, I would start on another and schedule them out later in the week.
  • What are your favorite things to blog about?I loveeeeee video games so that would be my number 1. The problem is that life has been so busy lately that I haven’t had nearly enough time to play as much as I would want. So I had to find fillers. I loveeee Netflix and TV in general so I started the Netflix Series Reviews. This way I don’t feel like a complete sloth when I binge watch series for a purpose! I loveee writing (and talking) so naturally the creative writing part of the site developed itself.

Emily’s Questions:

  •  ZombieAttack-399x550  There’s a Zombie Apocalypse, where’s the first place you go? I’m going to the mall! There’s an Outdoor World that I can pick up hunting equipment and survival stuff. There’s a department store where I can stock up on batteries. There’s the food court. Why hasn’t anyone locked down a mall!!!!! If I didn’t have enough people to lock down a mall, Wal-Mart here I come!
  • Since you work at Universal Studios if you could host your own Halloween Horror Nights Event, what houses would you make?  I would bring in some of my favorite houses like the Freddy versus Jason House, Saw, American Werewolf, etc. Those houses were some of the best.
  • If you can be a character from any book that you have read, what character would you be? –  I would want to be Eve Dallas from the In Death series. She’s awesome, a detective, rich and living in the normal world. There’s no monsters or anything like that, I mean other than the countless murders that she has to solve, her life would be great.

Drew @TheTattoedBookGeek

1). If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? Mashed Potatoes or Potatoes in general! Potatoes are the best thing known to man and I could take them to a desert island and be SET! Even on games like Minecraft I opt to eat Potatoes over Steak lol. Potatoes are also very versatile, you can do some much with it! You can stuff them, fry them, mash them, roast them, the sky is the limit! Potatoes also pair well with many foods. You can have them with all of the meats beef, chicken, steak, fish, etc. I have even added potatoes to my chili before and it was amazing!

2). What’s your favourite ever game? This is a tough one. Ughhh. I’m not quite sure what my favorite game ever is. For racing hands down Mario Kart, for Shooters Hands down Gears of War (yes over the original FPS 007 Goldeneye as well) and for strategy games hands down Civilization Revolution. But to pick one game, ughh I just can’t do it! If you ask me  my favorite type of game or genre I could answer FPS hands down, drop the mic, I’m out!!!!

3). Who wins in Game of Thrones? Jon, oh excuse me **Spoiler If you have Watched, stop READING NOWWWWW!!!** Aegon Targaryen!

4). If you could see Seth Rollins face any wrestler from any promotion in any era in any type of match who would you pick and what match type would you choose? Hands down my all time favorite wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin! imageedit_1_8338285617 I don’t even know who I would want to win, I just would want to see it! New school versus old school! I’m a fan of the steel cage matches so seeing one of those would be awesome as well. My 2 favorites going up against each other! Emily over here says that she would like to see him go against the Rock because he is so big. She figures he’s more agile and can jump around the ring doing coll moves. “It’s anyone game!” She says lol.

5). You are writing a memoir of your life, what do you call the book? This is a great question. Hmmm… 50 Shades of Luna! Nahhh not that one lol. “What the Flip!” could be a great name. The memoir will be a comedic descent into my so called life lol. Another title could be “So… No?” This memoir would be an account of the stupid questions or favors that I’ve been asked over the years *cough cough* Emily, *cough cough.*

Thank you for reading today’s Q&A! What are your thoughts and answers to the questions? Let’s chat!

Have a great weekend and come back tomorrow to see which Villain has taken to writing their Memoir!

Monopoly Gamer Board Game!

Happy Thursday Novas! Today’s post will be a review of the board Game Monopoly Gamer that I was able to play during my vacation last week with friends. Monopoly Gamer is not a traditional Monopoly Game that can take hours to complete. It is actually a game that ends once you fight the final boss in the bosses deck and the winner is the person who has the highest total points. Let’s jump into how you play!

20170810_183715

Just like any Monopoly Game, each player chooses their character and receives “coins” from the bank. The initial setup of the coins will be 1 “5 coin” and 5 “single coins.” The coins are used to buy properties on the map and also to fight the bosses. Each player takes a turn rolling 2 dice; one for movement and the second for Power Up Ability actions.

imageedit_3_3780247710

Think of the Power Up Abilities as you would if you were playing Mario Kart. The Red Shells can hit any player of your choice and force them to “drop” 3 coins on their current space. The Green Shell will make the player directly in front of you drop 3 coins. The Squid will allow you to steal 2 coins from any player. The POW icon will force all other players on the board to drop 1 coin. The 3 coins icon will allow you to receive 3 coins from the bank.

Character Abilities: Each character in the game has different abilities that you can use. There’s the Power Up ability and the Superstar Ability. When you roll the Power Up die, if you land on your characters specific power up, you get an added bonus. For instance, I use Yoshi and his Power Up Ability is the Green Shell. Instead of automatically hitting the person in front of me, I could hit the person behind me for coins. Yoshi gets the choice! On the map there are Star Spaces, if you land here you can use your Superstar Ability. The game starts with 4 characters; Peach, Mario, Yoshi and Donkey Kong, but you can buy alternate characters to use. We bought Rosalina, Fire Mario and Boo!

Board Spaces: When you are hit, you leave coins on the space that you are currently on. To make the game feel more like Super Mario, there are a few different spaces. The Warp Pipe allows you to move to the next Warp Pipe on the board (for added fun, make the warp pipe sound each time someone lands on the space lol). The Thomp Space makes you drop 2 coins (I make the Ummpf sound on this space lol). The Go To Jail Space is standard and we have explained the Star Space. The last space, other than property, is Coin Block Space. You will roll the numbered die and take that many coins from the bank (the ba ding! sound is best used here lol).

Gameplay and Bosses: So we have established that you roll your dice and move your character. Just like standard Monopoly, you buy up spaces to collect rent (each property also has points attached). If you don’t want to buy the property or you do not have enough coins, the property will be auctioned amongst the remaining players in the game. Any space that you pass with coins on them are yours to pick up (if you don’t forget). When you pass go, you collect 2 coins from the bank and you flip over the top “Boss Battle” card. 20170810_183726

The player who passes Go gets to fight a boss by paying the number of coins on the card. To win, you must roll the number equal to or higher than the number shown on the boss card. If you lose, the next player can pay the fight requirement and battle until someone beats the boss. Each boss card also brings a perk that you can use at anytime like being able to force a trade between 2 players. Spoiler alert, you’re fighting the Koopa Kids and ending with Bowser!

Once Bowser is defeated, the game immediately ends and the players tally their points. You add the number of points on your owned properties, to your boss fight points and the number of coins you have to decide the winner. Every 5 coins count as 10 points. That’s it! Bragging rights goes to the person who has the most points in the game and you didn’t have to play for 5 hours.

My winning setup! Yoshi is OP because he collects all coins on the board lol.

Here are my top reasons to “Play” or “Skip” Monopoly Gamer:

Play:

  • A fresh new spin on Monopoly
  • A quick family board game
  • The character abilities makes each game interesting so the replay value is high
  • Affordable at about $24

Skip:

  • You don’t like Monopoly

I would give Monopoly Gamer a 4.5 out of 5! I wish there were more bosses as an expansion pack that you could buy (fighting the same bosses can get tideous).

What do you think of Monopoly Gamer? Have you played any different versions of Monopoly? If so, which are your favorites? What type of board games do you love to play? Let’s Talk Board Games!

Gaming Bailouts!

Happy Tuesday Novas! I have spent the last week with some friends and we have been playing all sorts of board games (review on Monopoly Gamer coming soon!). It’s crazy how much fun you can have making up scenarios and just playing with friends. Today’s post will collaborate with some of my blogging buddies to talk about some of our favorite Gaming Bail Outs in board and video games. What’s a gaming bailout? It’s when you use a feature of the game to get out of a sticky situation. Well let’s get to it!

My initial reason for this post was because we played a Monopoly Game called Monopoly Gamer. All of the properties were bought and we were running out of coins to pay people’s rent. So myself and my friend’s husband decided we were going to try and roll the exact number to step on the “Go To Jail” space rofl. That’s right, we wanted to go to jail so that we could forego paying rent for a few turns, tell me you haven’t done that before???

Chris from Overthinker Y told us about his favorite gaming bailout.

Fast travel to get me out of awkward situations would be amazing. Or quicksaving to try every conversation outcome and make sure I don’t say something dumb!

Adventure Rules chimed in as well!

In RPGs with a rest function (like KOTOR or Neverwinter Nights) if a group of enemies was giving me trouble I’d always run away, close the doors so they didn’t see me and start following, and then rest to get all of my health and abilities back. Then go back, open the doors and continue fighting!

Nathan from Hurricane Thought Process and I’s answers go hand in hand!

Mid boss fight when you’ve run out of health potions.  Oh, like when playing an RPG or Moba and you run out of mana. I would always hit the opponent with a basic and roll around until I regained enough mana to attack 😂🤣🤣

Kim from Later Levels Added in her gaming bailout as well:

In old-school adventures, when you get stuck, open your inventory and try everything with everything! You’ll usually find something completely random and illogical that’ll work.

Those are some of our favorite video game bailouts! Make sure to check out everyone’s blog for great video game content! What are some of your classic gaming bailouts? Are there any bailouts that you wish existed? Let’s talk video games!

Enjoy your Wednesday and Game On!
