Netflix Series OZARK-

If you are in a dark and spiraling Show-hole, like many Netflix users after a long weekend of binge-watching, then I have found your saving grace or at least your next addiction…OZARK. **Episode 1 Spoiler Alert, Again Spoiler Alert!**

ozark-cast

Now I know what you’re thinking,.. “What the heck is that?”

Don’t worry. It can’t be as bad as what I thought. The name literally made me think of Noah’s Ark and I’m not even that biblical.

OZARK is a hot, new  original Netflix Series that started this year. So far, there is 1 Season with 10 Episodes, each lasting about 1 hour. The show stars Jason Bateman, who plays Marty Byrde,ozark2 an extremely, intelligent, financial advisor who must devise a radical plan to make millions to save the lives of himself and his family after his Business Partner/Best Friend  cheats a dangerous client. Oh, and did I mention that the dangerous client is apart of the second biggest Mexican Drug Cartel… Yeah, it’s pretty intense!

In Episode 1: Sugarwood we learn that…

  • Marty is a financial advisor who secretly cleans and launders money for Del-a Mexican Drug Cartel Lord-
  • Marty’s Business Partner/Best Friend-Bruce- has cheated Del over 8 million dollars in the past three years….(spoiler Alert….he dies).
  • Marty’s wife of 22 years-Wendy- is cheating on him and making DIY Adult Films every week with a lawyer (he dies too).
  • Marty has promised Del that he can clean and launder hundreds of millions dollars at Lake OZARK without any US Federal Agency finding out.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Marty isn’t having a good day when we first meet him. ozark-serie-2

The entire first episode consisted of me, sitting on the edge of my couch, holding my hands to my face, screaming “OHHHHHMYYYGAWDDD!” I felt as if I was riding an emotional roller-coaster with a twist and turn at every corner! So far, I have only watched the first episode but trust me when I say that I will be watching this to the very end!

Best Episode Quote: Marty Byrde: Money is not peace of mind. Money’s not happiness. Money is, at its essence that measure of a man’s choices.

Love Flash Fiction Collaboration!

Happy Saturday Novas! I hope your weekend is starting out well! A few weeks ago I was approached by a fellow blogger regarding writing a collaboration post together. We decided to write a flash fiction about Love. Shoutout to Gauri at A Sea Full of Dreamcatchers! Make sure to take a look at her blog for other great pieces of emotional writing! The lines are separated in red for Gauri and Purple for me, we hope that you enjoy it!

Love so pure it put diamonds to shame. Love so fatal it destroyed grenades. Love so fragile it tip toed over a strand of hair. She always knew that her feelings could kill, little did she know it could revive. Opposites attract they say, what about people who are identical? Is their love doomed from the start, or is it theirs that stand out, unique from the others.

Fear that’s so strong, he cannot breathe,

Fear that paralyzes enough to make you scream.

Why is it her love, that renders him still?

Why can’t he commit and follow his own will?

Opposites attract they say, but she is his equal in every way. Her breath is warm enough to melt his cold heart, she holds all the power to force him to start.

Little did he know, he would be her knight in shining armor, little did he know of what he can do. One simple stare was enough for her wall to come crashing, the wall she for so long built, brick by brick. They both were like ice, but had each other burning, they’re lives were so different, yet in a way the same.

She whispered in Subtlety, giving life a name,
No longer did she need to pride and claim,
Her purpose was clear, she was meant for him
His burdens were hers and Love was them,

He grabs her hand when he can finally move,
Sparking a flame that can’t be extinguished or removed.

The flame continues burning, sending sparks to the sky, the ice within them is melting, the froth within them dies. Wick by wick, the fire lights every candle around, piece by piece they’re hearts are found .

She wakes before him and stares out the glass,
Wondering how long, can this feeling truly last,
He wakes soon behind her, seeing the bliss on her face

He vows to her that never more, will her tears go to waste.

I’ll protect you forever and guard you from harm,
You’re the Princess who’d save me, I’m the Knight heavily armed.

They both were warriors, holding onto dear life, they both needed saviors, which they found in each other. Their hands locked each other’s, signaling their forever, their heads touched each other, refusing to let the other fall

Will their love last? Only time will tell, let their fires keep burning, until then!

Thank you for checking out today’s post! If you would like to collorate on a post as well, let me know! Have a great Saturday!

The Unique Blogger Award!

Happy Wednesday Novas! This week I was nominated for the Unique Blogger award by the lovely Blogging Holly! Thank you Holly and everyone should definitely checkout here blog! It’s filled with great poems and short stories and I love reading them!

Game Guide (or The Rules lol):

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Here are the questions I was asked from Holly!

What are the goals you have set for your blog and how do you hope to achieve those goals?

The goals I have set for the blog are everchanging. When I started the blog, it was supposed to be an extension of the GamersUnitedGG website where gamers could watch streams and upload videos. Quickly I loved blogging more than the website so I decided to concentrate all of my efforts here. My goals are to connect with other bloggers, explore writing opportunites, increase my writing skills and have a place to talk about things that I’m passionate about!

What inspires you to write, especially when you have writer’s block?

So this is a great question. If I have writer’s block I just work on someting else! In the writing world, I’m known as a “Pantser” because I  write by the seat of my pants. Which pretty much means I prefer bouncing around tumblr_inline_mfaeuomaL11r7k9y5  . If I have writer’s block on 1 section, I always refer to my journal of topics and pick something else to write about. Anytime you have an idea, write it down and who knows, later you may be able to use it. I just love talking, so writing helps me talk about all the crazy ideas that I have!

Give a random fact about yourself! 😀

A random fact about myself? Hmmm… I feel like I’ve shared most of my interesting facts lol. So I have this weird obsession (mild) with cats. Also the reason that I call myself Luna lol from Sailor Moon! I loveee cats, too much that I reference alot of things in cat terms. giphy I also Meow alot in real life lol. Yup, cats! Ta’s my interesting fact lol.

Wheew! That was painless, although now you may all think that I’m a crazy cat lady lol. On to my Nominees!

Players:

My 3 questions are:

  1. What are your favortie topics to blog about?
  2. Name a guilty pleasure of yours?
  3. If you were a Billionaire, what was your claim to fame?

This is an open challenge to anyone who I didn’t mention and would like to participate! Once again, thank you to Holly and enjoy your Wednesday!

-Luna 🙂

A War and Peace That Delivers

war.and_.peace_

Hello all! It’s Maria, and I hope you’ve had an excellent week so far. Mine has been interesting to date…

Anyway, I’m here to bring you another Netflix/series review–actually it’s more along the lines of a miniseries review, since it’s not quite a full series. And that miniseries is humbly called War and Peace, based on the famous novel by Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy. Now, I got interested in this particular miniseries not because I have read the book–because I really haven’t, the closest I have gotten to existential Russian literature is the first half of Anna KareninaThe Cherry Orchard, and Doctor Zhivago–but because I am a huge history fan, and underneath the fictional veil of the plot, there is a strong historical basis, especially that of the French invasion of Russia.

But even if you’re like me and have never read the book, once you watch the miniseries, you will want to check out the original source of its inspiration. (I haven’t done so yet, because I’ve been re-reading Harper Lee’s supposed sequel to To Kill A MockingbirdGo Set A Watchman. But it’s still on my list of books to read, don’t worry.) Now, War and Peace cannot be found on Netflix, and I am not sure if it will ever come to Netflix, but it you have Hulu, then it is available on there.

Originally airing on BBC One in the UK (then A&E, Lifetime, and History Channel in the States) before coming to Hulu, War and Peace follows five aristocratic families before and during the French invasion of Russia. The miniseries, like the novel, starts in 1805 and ends in 1812, at the end of Napoleon’s failed efforts to conquer Russia. Though the aristocratic families and how they’re changed is the chief focus of the miniseries, particular individuals from these families are given special attention, as their personal development is of huge focus as well: Prince Pierre Bezukov (who is the most favorite illegitimate son of  Russia’s most wealthiest man), Natasha Rostova (the daughter of Count Ilya Rostov and his wife Countess Natalya Rostova), Prince Andrei Bolkonsky (the son of Prince Nikolai Bolkonsky and brother of pious Marya Bolkonskaya), and Nikolai Rostov (Natasha’s older brother). Though to be fair, Nikolai is more like a secondary character, so I would safely say that Pierre, Natasha, and Andrei are the three people you want to pay attention to while watching this.

In the beginning, these three are privileged, but want their lives to have meaning, in somewhat different ways. Pierre, who is highly intelligent and idealistic, wants to change the world for the better; Natasha wants to find true love; and as for Andrei, he is continously fed up with the superficiality of society and opts to seek a higher purpose. Which he does, of course, by joining the army. (To the dismay of his wife.) Once these three are introduced to us, the viewers, their lives change in such ways that it is far from impossible to turn away.

War and Peace is eight episodes long, and basically emulates the novel from front to back cover. (The actual novel is four volumes long not including the epilogue at the end.) After finishing the miniseries in two days–yes, it is that kind of series/miniseries that you binge watch–I can safely say that it is highly engaging, will grasp your interest, and you will not want to stop watching until it’s done.

My rating: 5/5

WWE 30 Challenge: Day 26-30

Happy Tuesday Novas! Thank you for staying with us through this 30 day challenge! This will be the final post in the WWE challenge so let’s get to it!

Favorite Wrestlemania

So my favorite Wrestlemania of all time is hands this this year’s Wrestlemania 33! It was held here in my home town of Orlando, Fl and I attending all events that weekend. How can I not love the Wrestlemania where my husband Seth Rollins returned!

Favorite Finisher

I loveddddd Seth Rollins  Curb Stomp back in the day. Now I really like Dirty Deeds by Dean Ambrose and the Coup De Gras by Finn Balor. The curb stomp was a cool looking finisher that reminded me of the curb stomp execution curb stomp  from my favorite game, Gears of War. Dirty deeds looks like a devastating finisher as you plummet your opponents head into the ground dean-ambrose-dirty-deeds-randy-orton-o  . The Coup De Gras is just amazing!!! finn balor

Favorite Debut/Return

This has to pertain to Wrestlemania 3 again! The Monday after RAW my other husband Finn Balor returned from Injury! The following night Shinsuke Nakamura debuted on Smackdown. I was at both events and the crowd went insane!!!! Being at a live event is an indescribable feeling that you cannot capture on film. The atmosphere is so energetic and infectious that it’s crazy.

Earliest Memory of WWE

Stone Cold and the Undertaker’s feud. I vaguely remember Stone Cold inadvertently saving Stephanie Mcmahon from the Undertaker.

Favorite Match Stipulation

Survivor Series! I love the traditional 5 of 5 elimination rules. Another great stipulation is the Elimination Chamber. There’s so many great moments and matches in the WWE that it’s hard to pick just 1.

Thank you for staying with us on this 30 day journey through WWE! What are your favorite finishers and Returns/Debuts? Let’s talk WWE!

Game of Thrones S7: Ep 3 Thoughts

Happy Monday Novas! I hopw that your weekend went well! Last night was episdoe 3 of the new season in Game Of Thrones and it was an excellent episode in my opinion. Please be advised that Mild Spoilers will be listed below so if you don’t want the episode spoiled, please stop reading now! Right, let’s have a quick recap of what happened before episode 3.

Recap of season so far: This season of Game of Thrones started with showing where season 6 left off. We caught up with Arya in her tear of vengeance across the Seven Kingdoms, checked in on The Hound and The Brotherhood With No Banners, witnessed one of the most anticipated scenes of Dany returning to Dragonstone, witnessed the life of Sam in the Citadel, watched as Cersi ruled King’s Landing and of course, checked in with Jon Snow, King of the North. We’ve had battles, lost characters and now we are really in the fight for the Iron Throne.

This episode is more like the intense battle of wit and strategy. The long awaited scene of Jon Snow meeting with Daenarys, was as  intense and cringy as one of the gory, action packed, fight scenes.  jon You see the 2 strong willed leaders with 1 asking the other to bend the knee, while the other is asking for assistance in a much more important fight; The Long Winter. The battle of Kings and Queens all took place in the throne room at Dragonstone. Each monarch reached their boiling point and was backed up by their trusted advisors (Missandei and Davos). Both tempers were brewing and each were correct in their own right. We shall see how this plays out for the rest of the season and if Dany and Jon will become enemies or allies.

“Please don’t blame a daughter for the sins of her father…” -Dany

“Please don’t hold me to the oath of my family…” -Jon

Both the opening and ending scenes were really some of the best moments. **Spoiler Alert, Spoiler Alert!** We waved goodbye to one of my favorites; Olenna Tyrell. Jaime Lannister definitely learned from his mistakes in past battles and launched an unsuspecting attack on on High Garden, which is the home of the wealthiest family, the Tyrells. Olenna went out like a G! Knowing that her army wasn’t bred to be great fighters, she welcomed Jaime into her suite for her final scene. Afer drinking the poison that Jaime brought to kill her painlessly, olenna  Olenna boldly said the best line of the night, “Tell Cersei I did it (Killed Jeoffrey), I want her to know it was me.”

We also were invited to see Euron’s gift to Cersi, Ellaria Sand and one of her surviving daughters. If you recall, Ellaria poisoned Myrcella before she departed back to the Seven Kingdoms and Cersi never forgot it about it. We are actually able to see the emotion in Cersi’s face as she talks about her daughter; her Only Daughter before rendering the punishment to Ellaria. **Spoiler Alert, Spoiler Alert!** Ellaria is sentenced to watch her daughter die in the same chamber as her, by the same poison used on Myrcella. Dangggg Cersi!!!!

Other notable scenes:

  • Sam & the Archmaester
  • Bran’s arrival to Winterfell (meeting Sansa)
  • Littlefinger’s “Lesson” to Sansa

This episode we did not see Arya or The Hound. Next episode will probably begin with us catching up with them and seeing how Dany and Tyrion will approach the deceit of the Lannisters. We will find out what is happening with Dany and Jon Snow as well.

What are your thoughts on last night’s episode? Did you enjoy it? What do you think will happen moving forward? Let’s talk Game of Thrones!

Daily Prompt Lust: Explosive Love

Inhaling the fumes,

Till their lungs collapse,

They didn’t assume,

That I’d have the last laugh!

She is a beauty, In her own right,

Comparable to none, She can’t escape my sight,

Waiting too long, Has always been my way,

Longing to touch her; Today is the day.

She’s wearing red and trying to seduce,

I finally have her, Now she can let loose,

The strands of black, tumble behind,

Her perfectly shaped head, I caress and Pine;

For her, that’s a fact, but it’s not enough!

For her sister in arms, Do I also Lust!

I’ve held her once, I’ve kissed her hand,

There’s more to love, in her compact can

She gives me strength and takes away my fears,

She gives me joy; Everyone else, Tears.

My forbidden love, do I toss in the air,

Each guests’ eyes marvel, when she falls down there,

Her twirl, her scent; all will consume,

Walking in with her sister; as she quiets the room,

It’s time for Tiny Nimble Tina, to play her part,

Her music comes crashing and stopping hearts,

I am the Joker, if you couldn’t see,

My lust for Tear Gas and TNT!

Inhaling the fumes,

Till their lungs collapse,

They didn’t assume,

That I’d have the last laugh!

Disney Magic Kingdoms

If you are a Disney fan, mobile game lover, or just like to spend countless hours starting at a 4in. screen, then please, read on…

For over a 1 1/2, I have been obsessed with the Disney Magic Kingdoms App released by Gameloft. Although I am a huge Disney fanatic, the game itself is so beautiful and amazingly detailed it’s insane. The creators of the game really took the time and effort to design everything true to how the Disney Universe is.

Basically, the evil Maleficent has cast an evil spell on the Kingdom and it’s your job to help Mickey and his friends defeat the wicked Maleficent to restore the Kingdom as it once was. Throughout your adventure, you will meet a variety of new and classic characters like Pluto, Chip and Dale, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Dash, Walle, Simba, and more! Each character will go through their own Heroic Quests to help level your Kingdom and defeat Maleficent.

Along your journey, you will collect…

  • Magic: Currency collected to purchase attractions, outfits, decorations and more!
  • Gems: Premium Currency that unlocks chests and speeds up character tasks. Gems can be purchased for real $$$ and sometimes they have special promotions or bundle packs!Promo-2017-australia_day
  • Happiness: You can’t have a Disney Kingdom without having a bunch of visitors wanting to have their wishes granted! Visitors will request to meet with Characters like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Bo Peep, Cinderella, and more! The more wishes you grant, the happier the Kingdom!Wishes-4untitled
  • Attractions: The attractions are probably my favorite to collect! They are so detailed and if you zoom in while playing, you can see them move and the characters who are completing tasks. Some of my favorite attractions so far are The Tree of Life, Snuggly Duckling, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Broomstick Graveyard, Jumpin Jellyfish and of course Cinderella’s Castle!
  • Decorations: To complete your Kingdom,  you can use magic to purchase decorations or collect them from Treasure Chests. Decorations can be themed to match Attractions areas and range from Benches, Statues, Topiary’s, Concession Stands and more! They also have unique items like Cannons, Olaf Sand Sculptures, Simba’s Tree, Gargoyle Lamps, and more!
  • Treasure Chests: Treasure Chests are hidden throughout the Kingdom and contain prizes like Magic, Happiness, Decorations, and Attractions.IMG_1681
  • Character Outfits/Tokens: At this time, only a handful of Characters have outfigame1ts that you can earn and wear. Each outfit has special tasks that the character can complete. I have listed a few here..
    • Mickey
    • Donald
    • Belle
    • Pluto
  • Special Events: Throughout the year, the game releases Special Events to keep the game new and exciting! Right now, we have the Lion King Event! In the past we have had events for Holidays like Halloween and Christmas, and to welcome new character groups like Mulan, The Incredible’s, and Frozen to name a few!

Alright guys, I have gone over most of the details of the game and I hope you adore it as much as I do! I may not be a big gamer but when it comes to Disney, I just can’t resist! If you download the game, let me know what you like about it or what you favorite attraction is!

Until next time,
