Luna’s Rankings: Favorite Call of Duty Perks!

Happy Tuesday Players! This past weekend was the Call of Duty World Championships and after watching several of the matches, it got me thinking about my Favorite Call of Duty Perks of all time! Power Up Players for my Perks Ranking List!

Since there are plenty of perks that morph from game to game, this will be a 3 part series where I will rank my favorite perks depending on the Class that I am using. Today’s post will be my ranking on the Perks I MUST have when using an Assault Rifle (AR) Class. Assault Rifles are my preferred guns to use when playing Call of Duty ( or any First Person Shooter FPS). The Perks that I pick for this class help me have the movement of a Sub machine gun player, without having to be all up in the heat of the battle.

#5 Scavenger

Scavenger_Perk_Icon_BO3

The Scavenger perk allows you to pick up backpacks of ammo and tacticals from dead bodies on the map. Scavenger is a must have perk when I’m running an AR because I don’t have to worry about running out of ammo. I rarely use my sidearms (unless you count me using my knife lol) so making sure I have plenty of Bullets in my Scar or M16 is vital to my survival.

#4 Overkill-

overkill

Overkill is a perk that I’ve always used in Black Ops 2. Overkill allows you to trade in your sidearm for another primary weapon. This class was very useful when I was playing Black Ops 2. I could have a sniper class with a secondary as a sub machine gun in case I needed it for close range combat. My primary use of Overkill was to have my AR the M16 in hand with a side arm of the MSMC sub machine gun.

# 3- Stopping Power –

stopping power

Stopping power is a perk that I like to have on an AR class. Depending on the game you are playing, Stopping Power has different uses. My favorite version is the use in MW2 where Stopping Power has increased bullet damage and can assist in destroying player streaks faster like shooting down a Pavelow or Harrier plane.

#2 Lightweight –

lightweight

Lightweight is a very useful perk as it allows the player to move faster. I can’t play any class without having lightweight because it’s so slow without it.

#1 Sleight of Hand –

Perk_sleight_of_hand

Sleight of Hand is my favorite perk because it lets you reload faster. This perk can be found in just about all COD games, but my favorite version is from the Modern Warfare 2 where unlocking the Pro version of Sleight of Hand gives you Fast ADS (Aim Down Sight). Faster aiming is great because after sprinting I can engage in a battle quickly.

Those are my favorite Call of Duty Perks for my assault rifles. Do you play Call of Duty? Did you watch the Call of Duty World Championships this weekend? What are your favorite perks? Let’s talk FPS!

Video Game 30 Day Challenge: Day 6 – Favorite Games!

Happy Wednesay Players! Welcome to Day #6 of the GamersUnitedGG 30 Day Video Game Challenge! Yesterday a sneaky fence sold some of the video game worlds best weapons! Click here to find out which weapons were selected!  You can join us and read the official rules by clicking here! Power up Players for Day 6 of the 30 Day Video Game challenge!

Today we are tackling a question that is most likely in ALL video game challenges:

What is your favorite game?

I always have a hard time answering these questions because my interest in game change from time to time. So… I have a few games listed that are or have been my favorite at one time or another. Most of these titles may not be a surprise to you

Tropico 5 –

tropico1

Tropico 5 is probably my current favorite game that I am playing right now. Tropico 5 is a civilization building game where you are the President of a small island. You start in the Colonial Era where you are dependant on a larger country to extend your mandates and provide some financial assistance. You develop your island and progress through the Eras with increasing difficulty. Obstacles you may face are pirates raiding your island, hostiles, drought, disasters, military coups and rebel uprisings just to name a few. You have to balance your leadership with the well being of your people and make money in the process. It’s a great economic tool and you literally control EVERYTHING! Even how much your citizens are making! It’s super fun and super addicting!

Gears of War –

3138903-gears4_screenshot_squad_combat

Gears of War has made my list of Favorite Game before. This was one of my first Xbox 360 games and really the first time I engaged in the Online Multiplayer World (aside from Unreal Tournament). Following the Cogs and Locusts in their battle for supremacy, shotgunning enemies, using the torque bow to tag them and watch them explode. It’s gorey, but it’s great! Gears of War will always make my list of “Favorite Games.” I rant more about Gears of War here!

Modern Warfare 2

mw2

Call of Duty was a passion of mines for a longgggg time. The very first midnight release that I’ve attended was the Modern Warfare 2 release. This is by far my favorite Call of Duty game of all time and of course had to make the list. I rant and rave about this and other COD titles in my Ranking’s Post. You can review them by clicking here!

Mario Kart –

mario kart

Mario Kart is a staple in many millenials’ lifetime. The original Mario Kart was fun but my favorite is Mario Kart 64. The Nintendo 64 is probably my favorite console of all time. MArio Kart 64 is sooo much fun and to this day I can play it for hours with my brother and friends. I would use Yoshi or Daisy if Yoshi isn’t available to rain down havok on the other karters. Favorite Stages are Wario Stadium, Bowser’s Castle and Koopa Troopa Beach!

Fable –

fable II

I’ve ranted and raved about Fable many, many times. This is one of my favorite video games of all time. I loved the story, decision making system and abilities in this world. You can read more about my times with Fable by clicking here!

Civilization Revolution –

civ rev

Civ Rev is the strategy game by Sid Meier created for Xbox 360. It was my first experience with the Civilization games and I had so much fun playing it. Funny enough, I started playing the demo with a friend just to pass the time and fell in love with the series. Now I’m playing Civ V and Civ VI on PC and Civ Rev was the starting part in this adventure.

Oblivion-

oblivion

Finally to round out my favorite games Oblivion has to make the list. Oblivion was one of the 1st single player story games that I was able to play on Xbox 360. I was immersed in the world of Oblivion operating as a member of the Fighter’s Guild, Thieves Guild, Mages Guild and Dark Brotherhood while not losing my standing with any of my comrades. It was a great game and has truly made me appreciate RPG’s.

Those are my favorite video games! What are yours? Let’s talk favorites!

Luna’s Rankings: Favorite Overwatch Characters!

Happy Tuesday! It’s been 2 months of a break from blogging but I am getting back into the swing of things. If you recall, Tuesdays are the Rankings day for GamersUnitedGG. The Rankings posts are where I will provide my favorites in ascending order from 5th place to 1st providing my personal reasons for the rankings. This is a community discussion section so feel free to rank your favorites in the comments below and the following week I will tally the Community votes to provide a Community Ranking. Power up Players and welcome to Luna’s Rankings!

Today we are Ranking: Our Favorite Overwatch Characters!

#5- Pharah

pharah

Pharah is an offensive character and the very first character that I tried when playing Overwatch. Pharah has boosters and a rocket which is all I needed to get hooked. I love being able to hover in the air, boost jump behind someone and fire my rockets. Pharah is such a fun character to play and when she uses her ultimate “Justice Rains From Above!” I’m not good with Pharah but I don’t care, she’s soooo fun to play with lol

#4 – Moira –

moira

Moira is a support character that provides heals and damage. What I like about Moira is that she reminds me of Hel from Smite. She has her hearing and damage state which is fun to play with. When I need to be a healer, I like selecting Moira because I can also through damage orbs at the enemy team to assist in the battle. Moira also has a crazy powerful ultimate where she shoots a hyper beam that damages enemies and heals allies. Moira is really fun and I don’t feel completely useless as a healer (in damage and attack that is lol)

#3- Sombra –

sombra

Sombra is a fairly interesting character and she is classified as an Offensive hero. I started using Sombra in a custom match with friends where I was testing out different characters. Sombra is super cool and her hacking abilities can come in handy when you have annoying characters like Junkrat or Reinhardt. Her hack takes away options for the character hit and they can only use their basic attacks. A well timed hack can change the game for sure! Sombra’s other abilities are her invisibility and pistol. Not to mention a group hack Ultimate!

#2 Junkrat

junkrat

Point blank period, Junkrat is fun! He’s fairly easy to use so I do recommend him to beginners. His basic attack is a noob tube (hahah Call of Duty lingo) which is a grenade launcher. He also has a bear trap, mines and a Rip Tire that you can control as his Ultimate. Junkrat is fun to play with and 90% of the games will have at least 1 junkrat somewhere. Plus, I have a special place in my heart for villains and Junkrat is definitely a villain or at least an evil scientist with his demented laughs! Oh yeah, Junkrat is a Defensive Hero!

#1 – Orisa –

Orisa

This selection is a surprise to me because Orisa is a Tank Hero and I’ve never really played with a tank in any game. She’s not a full tank character but Orisa has shields to protect the team, a gravitron ray and her Ultimate is the supercharger that buffs damage for your team. Throw down a shield and plop that Supercharger behind it for the best effect. Orisa is easily my favorite character and she is my most useful. I perform best as Orisa and being able to shield my teammates, lay down suppressing fire, use the Gravitron Ray(not sure of its real name lol) to throw enemies off balance or pull them back when they try to take cover and buff my teams damage is the perfect role for me. I still don’t fancy myself a Tank kind of girl, but in the case of Orisa, I’m her number 1 fan!

Those are my rankings for my favorite Overwatch Heroes, what are yours? Feel free to respond with your favorite characters in the comments and I will be sure to update the community Rankings on next Tuesday’s post! Are you currently playing Overwatch? Let’s talk Heroes!

Luna’s Rankings: Favorite Superheroes!

Happy Tuesday Novas and thank you for reading today’s Rankings Post! The Marvel Universe has been on fire lately with their box office hits and upcoming triumphs over the DC Universe. On Tuesdays I like to rank items from 5th until 1st on different topics and since Black Panther is releasing on DVD and Blu Ray today, I want to rank my favorite Superheroes  from 5th until 1st place!

#5 Thor –

Thor

Thor makes an appearance on my list because he’s flipping amazing. I love that he uses his hammer in combat. The hammer is versatile and allows him to fly, go super fast and pretty much knock out his enemies. Thor is a god and his full strength of lightning makes him super cool and worthy of the number 5 spot on my list. Thor Ragnarok is my favorite Thor movie to date. Read the review here!

#4 Black Widow –

black widow

Black Widow has always been a super cool character to me. I love a story about a hero who didn’t always start off saving the world. She has a very checkered past but she has decided to use her skills in a more helpful way which is awesome. Plus, she’s played by Scarlett Johansson in the Avenger movies, what more can you ask.

#3 Wonder Woman –

wonder woman

Before the Wonder Woman movie came out I would have not listed her as one of my top 5 favorite superheroes. Learning her story and delving more into her world has opened my eyes to the character. She’s strong, courageous and willing to follow her heart to help anyone in need. That’s the king of superhero we need!

#2 Black Panther –

null

Black Panther is another hero that was off my radar until the movie hit theaters in February. What I love about T’Challa is that he is a king that wants to help his people survive. He also embraces other cultures and wants to help fight to protect all people. His suit is cool, his movements are great and he has a great supporting cast of characters. You can check out the Spoiler Free Review of Black Panther here!

#1 Ironman –

ironman

Ironman has been my favorite superhero for as long as I remember. I love that his character is entirely plausible (you know, if you were a billionaire)/. Ok let’s be honest, most of the list (all of this list lol) is based on the portrayals in Hollywood. Tony Stark as portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. Is a sarcastic, witty and intelligent character that I love watching. I’m not a Superman girl, not a Batman girl but Ironman is my man. Wonder what would happen if Batman met Ironman, check out their TKO Battle by clicking here!

Those are my top 5 superheroes, what are yours? Which Superhero movies are you looking forward to? Let’s talk heroes!

Luna’s Rankings: Fierce, Fighting Video Game Females!

Happy Tuesday and Power up Players for this week’s Rankings Post! Upon reading several great articles by IgnitedMoth on Marie Curie, Cupcakes & Machetes Idea for the event and checking in at the Precinct1313 for This Week in Geek, I’ve decided to take part in C&M’s blogging event recognizing women in the month of March! That’s right i’s National Women’s History Month and what better way to celebrate than to have some video game tailored posts that celebrate great female characters in history! This week’s Rankings post will rank my top 5 favorite video game female characters from 5th place to 1st place! Let’s see who’s on the list!

#5 Princess Kitana –

kitana

Sonya Blade at first occupied my top spot for Mortal Kombat characters, but then Princess Kitana became my favorite. I really like how sat she is in the game and I love her fatalities with here duel fans. I started to grow even more attached to Princess Kitana when the Mortal Kombat movie came out. I loved that she was mysterious and obviously quite capable of fighting in the tournament. Mortal Kombat is one of those iconic video games from my childhood and with ever new installment, I am instantly brought back to memories of summer days with my brother and friends.

#4 Orchid –

Orchid

Orchid used to be my favorite Killer Instinct character until Glacius took that spot. Orchid turns into a Jaguar in the middle of an attack which is just cool. Orchid is strong, agile and she’s a great character to use against any opponent.Using her weapons and her innate cat abilities, I still hold a special place in my heart for her character. Killer Instinct in history provided some of the BEST in game commentaries that I can remember. From the announcer putting such vigor on the fighter’s names to the announcer screaming ULTRAAAAAAAAAA COMBOOOOOOOOO at the end.

#3 Bastet –

Bastet

Bastet is the Egyptian goddess and an assassin as far as her role in the MOBA Smite. In Smite, Bastest was on the of the first characters that I would play with and for the longest time she was my ONLY option when playing. Bastet is not only fast, she has cool moves like her Cat Claw that slows enemies, her pounce that can be used offensively and defensively and my personal favorite move, her ultimate where she releases 3 giant cats that attack their enemy. We know that I’m pretty much a cat so Bastet was and is the perfect character for me to use.

#2 Chun-Li –

Chun Li

Chun-Li was my absolute FIRST female video game character to use. Back in Street Fighter II I would use Chun-Li and Spam her Super Kicks against my brother and cousins (yes, I was that player lol). When I learned how to perform the umbrella kicks and the back flips, it was CURTAINS! Well, until my brother found my Kryptonite and starting using my character against me. For some reason, growing up if you used my same character, it would sike me out and I would ALWAYS lose. Kenny found out early how to beat his little sister when she was on a roll and I’m sure that still haunts me to this day haha.

#1 Kasumi –

Kasumi gif

Kasumi takes the crown as my FAVORITE video game female fighter due to nostalgia, style and my win rate! My first experience with Kasumi came when my brother would have his Lan Parties in High School. Me and my friends always wanted to play and one of the video games on the list was Dead or Alive 5. I prefer faster striking, agile characters so seeing the Shinobi character Kasumi immediately caught my eye. She is fast, strong and she will slit your throat with her Katana. Not too mention my friend and I would team up and beat the boys with me as Kasumi and her as Lei Fang. It was a tag team to victory and I believe Kasumi is my best mastered video game character in a fighting game.

Those are my top female fighting game characters, what are yours? Add your favorite fighting game characters to the comments so that they can be tallied and listed with the community rankings next week! Let’s talk Fiercely, Fighting Females!

Luna’s Rankings: Olympics Edition!

Happy Tuesday Novas and power up players for this week’s rankings post! Every Tuesday I rank my top favorites from 5th place to 1st and ask for the community to rank their favorites. Right now we are in the middle of the 2018 Winter Olympics and it’s one of the events that I geek out about every 4 years. In honor of the Winter Olympics and the athletes that are competing, this week we will be ranking our top Winter Olympics Events!

But first, let’s review the Community Rankings from our last Ranking’s Post!

Topic: Most Anticipated Games of 2018

There was a tie after 3rd place so I will list the top 3 Community Rankings. They are Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War and Sea of Thieves!

My Favorite Winter Olympic Events

Moguls– Moguls is a skiing Olympic Sport that is scored based on technique, tricks and speed. The athletes ski down a hill that has bumps in them. They must traverse these bumps shifting from side to side and keeping their knees tight together until they approach 1 of 2 ramps. Each competitor will perform a trick off of the ramps and continue down the hill until the finish line. Moguls is fun to watch and seeing the different tricks pulled out is always entertaining.

Super Combined – The Super Combined event is another skiing event that consists of 2 parts, the downhill and the slaloms. Downhill looks super fun as the whole purpose is to be the fastest down the hill. You take sharp turns, jumps and all while trying to maintain or increase your speed. The second part of this race is the slalom where you most ski down the hill as fast as you can while hitting markers. If you miss any markers, a time penalty will be added to your total time. The fastest time combined from both events will will.

Snowboard Cross

snowboard cross gif

Snowboard Cross is a newer sport added to the Winter Olympics and is essentially a race. 4 athletes start at the line and race on snowboards through the course. First one to the finish line wins!

Half Pipe

halfpipe

This is the tricks section of the snowboard events. The rules are simple, go big, perform tricks and don’t fall! This is the event that Shaun White is known for winning and **Spoiler Alert, Spoiler Alert** he won this year! This year was probably the best version of the event as all snowboarders were upping the ante and leaving it all on the pipe. We seen people go super big in air and we’ve seen back to back 1440’s. Half pipe is super fun and quick to watch.

Figure Skating –

figure skating

My number 1 event has to be figure skating. I’ve been watching since I was a kid because my grandmother would watch every season. I love the grace, the beauty, the artistry and of course the tricks.

Those are my rankings for my favorite winter olympic events, what are yours? Feel free to rank your top 5 olympic events in the comments. You can rank summer and winter events if you would like. Are you watching the olympics? What are your favorite events? Let’s talk Olympics!

Where have I been?

Happy Tuesday Novas! Soooo, you may have noticed that there has been radio silence over here at GamersUnitedGG.  I apologize, but I went semi “off the grid” while on vacation in Illinois last week and early this week. It was a great experience and I had a great time with my friends (not to mention I was able to see and play in snow for the first time in my life). Now I’m refreshed with a few new ideas, games and blog posts coming this week. Thank you for everyone tuning in and check back later today for this week’s Rankings Post!

Luna’s Rankings: Most Anticipated 2018 Games!

Power up Players for today’s Rankings Post! Each Tuesday I will ranks games, shows, series, etc and list my favorites in the genre from 5th place to 1st place. After my post I will open up the comments for everyone to rank their favorites and the following week I will post the “Community Rankings” from the previous week’s Rankings post.

Community Rankings from Our Favorite Classic Arcade Games:

We didn’t have a community ranking for last week.

This week we will be ranking: Our Top 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2018!

#5 God of War –

GOW

Greek Mythology, Kratos and an action based adventure game? What’s not to love? I haven’t played any games in the God of War series but from watching my friends play, I am pretty excited about playing the newest installment myself. Release Date: April 20th, 2018

#4 Far Cry 5-

fc5

Wanted to play Far Cry 4 but never got around to it, now with the additions to FC5, ready to take on the game. This action adventure First Person Shooter will be open world with a story attached but player is able to free roam. There is said to be customization for the first time in the series so that you can create a character to play with during the story. Release Date: March 27th, 2018.

#3 Sea of Thieves –

sot

Categorized as an action adventure co-op multiplayer game, you travel the high seas in 1st person as a pirate. Sea of Thieves seems to take on the RPG -esque genre by allowing players to sail the high seas with their companions. There is cross platform play between PC and Xbox One which is awesome. It looks to be an Open world game that will consist of  quests, looting and fighting. You can even designate roles in your crew, hopefully I can talk my friends into Sea of Thieves. Release Date: March 20th, 2018

#2 Kingdom Come: Deliverance –

kc

This game came across my radar when I was reading The Year of RPG post by Athena at Ambigaming. She was listing the RPG games that she will be working on this year and Kingdom Come was on the list. I researched the game and fell in love because it is a medieval rpg game. There are a few features that worry me about the game, but I can’t wait to play and experience it for myself. Rumors are that a Game of Thrones mod will be released for the game as well!  Release Date: February 13th, 2018.

#1 Red Dead Redemption 2 –

rdr2

I’ve been waiting for RDR 2 for a few years now. When the blog started last year, one of my first posts was on the game from Rockstar that aims to pick up where Red Dead Redemption left off. I hope I am not disappointed, because I had so much fun on the original game shooting people off horses, playing outlaws to the end and completing quests. The best part was going to Bear Claw Camp or the hunting lodge and running from either giant bears or mountain lions. My hope for RDR2 is to have more co-op missions that you can play with your friends and some of the old options. Release Date: October 26th, 2018.

Those are my top 5 anticipated games of 2018. There are other great games that could have made the list, but I am most looking forward to these. Which games are you looking forward to playing this year? List your top 5 in the comments! Let’s talk upcoming games!

Luna’s Rankings: Favorite Arcade Games!

Community Rankings from Our Favorite Game of Thrones Characters:

  1. Daenerys Targaryen
  2. Tyrion Lannister
  3. Arya Stark
  4. Brienne of Tarth
  5. Jon Snow

This week we will be ranking: Our Favorite Arcade Games!

#5 Big Buck Hunter –

bigbuck

You can’t go to an arcade without playing some sort of shooter right? My go to shooter will always be the Bick Buck Hunter game. You remember it right? The one with the giant orange hunting rifle sticking out the side lol. I would get this game and go to the hunting fields. My brother Kenny and I would take turns trying to shoot the most deer and I have so many fond memories.

#4 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucking –

18wheeler

A driving game where I can play as a semi truck and run over anything in my tracks, yes please! Any time I would see the giant machine that was shaped like a truck empty. I would hop in put in my coins and get to driving. My favorite features are the giant steering wheels and gas pedals (because who needs brakes when you are literally a Transformer!!).

#3 Tekken –

tekken

Tekken was definitely a staple in arcade games growing up. Each week we spent a few hours at the laundromat while my grandmother washed our comforters and she would get extra quarters so that Kenny and I could play the arcade games. Tekken was always at my laundromat (it’s still there actually) and we would verse each other often. My go to character is King and my brothers is Eddie Gordo. I was never a great Tekken player, but my brother couldn’t touch me in Street Fighter with Chun-Li!

#2 Snocross –

snocross1

Snocross is a racing game where you get to ride on the back of a snowmobile. This game is fantastic because you have to lean on the snowmobile left and right to assist in turning your vehicle. I loved hitting tricks, getting boosters and bumping into other racers, whatever I could do to become first in the circuit. I like Snocross more than the other motorcycle racing games because the vehicles were easier to control and who wants to race on a road or highway when you can jump off mountains?

#1 Galaga –

galaga

Galaga was another arcade game in the laundromat on Saturdays. There’s something about the old shoot the spaceships and dodge objects game that has always drew me in. You have to have coordination to bob and weave and shoot all of the objects in your way. I’m not sure why Galaga is my favorite arcade game because it’s not a hard or unique concept. All I can say is that my eyes still light up when I see the game in the corner.

Those are my rankings for favorite arcade games (I’ve left out the more interactive games like Dance Dance Revolution and Skee Ball for another week) and I want to know your top 5! Think back to physically going into an arcade, which games caught your eye? Let’s talk arcade games! Don’t forget, tomorrow the winner of the GamersUnitedGG Blogging Competition will be announced!

1 Year of GamersUnitedGG!

Happy Thursday Novas, Players and Superstars! Yesterday, I received a notification from WordPress and unlocked the Achievement of blogging for 1 year! This past year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and I can’t believe I stuck it out this long. Today’s post is a thank you post for sticking with us throughout the year and a glimpse of what is to come from us here at GamersUnitedGG!

Past:

pacman_multi_agent

I’ve mentioned this before but GamersUnitedGG started as a Gaming Blog but transformed into a place that I can geek out, fan girl out and rant about all of my interests! I really love some of the segments that I have written and I look to bring them back in the future, Meow.

Present:

overwatch

We have launched the GamersUnitedGG YouTube Channel and will be uploading gaming videos 2-3 times a week. I’m getting my editing software by the end of the month so the intros and sound quality will be better in the future. Currently, we have the blogging competition to celebrate the 1 year anniversary going on. Luna’s Rankings posts happen every Tuesday at 11:30am EST where I will rank my top 5 favorite items in a topic from 5th place to 1st place. I’m also asking for your top 5’s so that we can display the “Community Rankings” the following week. This week we’re ranking Game of Thrones characters! The Video Game Tag will be up by the end of the month as well1

Future:

oculus

I’ve signed up to work on the Year of RPG, project with Athena at AmbiGaming. We will also be participating in the GameBlast weekend to raise awareness for Special Effect. Make sure to tune into Later Levels for more information and check out the stream in March! Click here for details! I’m going to be holding a Bi-Monthly blogging competition after the current one! I want to participate in more blogging competitions and collaborations throughout the year.

Acknowledgements:

I wanted to acknowledge some awesome people that I have met over the year of blogging. It’s impossible to mention everyone but I value all of the relationships that I have made and I will continue to make more.

Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek – I met Drew really early in my blogging career and his book reviews mixed with his sarcasm really drew (no pun intended lol) me in. I recently told him this but his blog really inspired me to not conform and write in my own voice. When you start something new, you want desperately to be accepted so you start to lose your way and your voice and Drew’s outlook on his book reviews really connected with me. Somehow, I think he helped me expand beyond just being a video game blog.

Reads & Reels – This was the second book blogger that I followed and I was so grateful to read the reviews. Shenanigans brought a more friendly and understanding side to blogging for me. I really appreciated her comments, feedback and kind words as I trekked along this jungle known as the blogosphere. My first video game review (for Halo Wars 2) was made possible because of Reads & Reels. I built up the confidence to officially review a game and haven’t looked back!

IgnitedMoth – I’ve told her this many times, but I feel as though we are kindred spirits. From the first time I read her blog, about a series that I was interested in, I knew that she would help me on my journey to grow and create. I read through other articles and see how she would talk about comics, books, shows and everything seemed to meld together. Nothing felt out of place. I would wake up and immediately search for any new articles that were written because she had such a great writing style and point of view. I can attribute my diversity to IgnitedMoth for sure! She also introduced me to NaNoWriMo and her version of the national novel writing competition early in the year.

Kim from Later Levels – Kim is one of the first blogging people I met as well. The year brought many collaborations, group messages and her infamous Blog Parties (which I’m always late to lol). Kim is very helpful and has a wonderful outlook on blogging, gaming and community. She will be participating in Game Blast and you can donate to the cause of Special Effect by clicking here.

The Comic Vault– The comic Vault was one of my first comic blogs to follow. I’ve always been fascinated with comics but I haven’t read too many and I’m not familiar with the canon. The Comic Vault introduced me to details about our favorite heroes, villains and sidekicks that I would have not known otherwise.

Precinct1313 – Is the second comic blog I followed and his sense for alliteration, absolutely, astounding and attained me (see what I did there 😉 ). I really love the interviews with comic characters and they inspired me to come up with the Memoirs of A Villain series. I love learning all of the intricacies of comic characters and their personalities. I am most thankful for the spreads on Wonder Woman that started the curve my interest in the hero.

DoubleJump – My Mushroom ranking system for game reviews and first impression posts are thanks to the hearts and lives rankings on Double Jump. Kris and Rachel have an amazing gaming blog and I love seeing how their Mii’s will rate an aspect of a video game. What’s great about their blog is that you will always receive 2 point of views on the review.

Thero159 – I met a while ago and has been a great friend and blogging buddy. Thero has introduced me to the events on FFXIV and with he posts, I was successfully able to complete them. She also introduced me to Offworld Trading Company which I love and the great Humble Bumble subscriptions that I have never used before. Thero has a great diverse mix of video games, comics, books and geeky interests to keep everyone entertained.

Those are some of the people that I have gotten to know over my year in blogging and I’m very grateful to have them. Thank you again for staying with us for a year and here’s to another great year of blogging, friends and most importantly, Video Games!
