I’ve lived the life on both sides of the coin. Being a villain or a hero brings different challenges as you are faced with tough decisions ahead. But I am not here to speak on my conversion to the side of heroes. I am here to recount my transgressions, both good and bad as The Arbiter and head of the Covenant Armies.
My name is Thel Vadam and I am a disgraced commander given a second chance to honor and spearhead the survival of my Sanghelli species. The Sanghelli are fierce warriors and we will stop at nothing to make sure that our race is protected and respected. I was approached by the Council to become the new Arbiter in their campaign to stop humans from looking to render my kind extinct. I accepted this high honor and swore to protect the High Prophets with my life.
During my work with the Prophets, I’ve made sure to eliminate all obstacles in our way. Humankind is not our friend and bloodshed is the only way to get results and ensure the survival of my people. My weapon of choice is an energy sword that can rip through its opponent with lightning speed. While the cowardice of the humans’ soldiers uses guns to eliminate their targets from a distance, we Sanghelli fight with honor in close combat.
When I train for battle, I use my length and agility to attack with swift and precise blows. I am an ace shot with the Covenant Plasma Rifle and I have one conveniently strapped to my leg. I hit a combo strike with the Energy Sword and dodge behind my target while reaching for my Plasma rifle and taking the shot straight to the head. I’ve worked hard to increase my combat skills and I will work even harder in every task.
My next challenge is a Baddie Bake-off with one of the more devious humans who goes by the name Xehanort. This challenge was issued by a mortal from Adventure Rules. I’ve heard of this competition before where challengers are competing in tasks to find out who reigns supreme. I’d almost dismissed this silly invitation until my competitive edge kicked in. Humanity will soon be destroyed, but why not humiliate them in the Bake Off challenge. My planet has the finest cuisines that only a refined pallet can comprehend.
I’m bringing the heat from the Flood, the taste of the Sanghelli and the brains to win this Baddie Bake-Off. The challenge is a week away and I am already compiling recipes that will tantalize and show the superiority of the Sanghelli. I’ve had the honor of baking pastries for the High Prophets and they were well received. I will show the strength of the Sanghelli next week, August 6th and take yet another triumph over Humans… before they are enslaved!
Power up Players for the Video Game World Cup event hosted by Pix1001 over at Shoot the Rookie! Pix looks to create the best video game soccer team to compete against the best athletes and teams competing in the World Cup. I’m not an expert in soccer by any means, but I did play for a season in 10th grade. I’m selecting my characters based off of what I remember from those glorious days of playing Sweeper or Half-back. For official rules and to enter your characters, click here!
For my submission, I have selected 4 great characters that many may not have considered as great additions to the team. Let’s start off with one of my star players; Beat from Jet Set Radio!
In the Jet Set Radio games, Beat is the lead character who rollerblades around at ridiculous speeds. His agility, speed and reaction times can greatly assist in scoring. I would put Beat at the Forward or Half-Back Position. This way he can play defense or offense using his speed. Beat has tremendous Power, Above Average Technique and Outstanding Graffitti skills (I mean in case he has to tag someone lol).
My second star player shouldn’t be much of a surprise; Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2.
Shadow is a great pick for his speed, sick moves and determined attitude. Just like with Beat, Shadow would do well as a Forward or Half-Back as he’s not likely to shy away from a rough battle with an opponent. Shadow can also hone the power of a Chaos Emerald to increase all of his abilities and senses. With Shadow, he can out maneuver players, slide through opponents and quickly shift gears to score the goal. Did I mention that Shadow can keep up with Sonic?
We need a great Sweeper to play defense and help out the goalie. My sweeper would be Crash Bandicoot!
Why, you may ask? Remember Crash is use to jumping, sliding and spinning his way through different terrains and obstacles. Crash can use these abilities to block the ball when players are taking a shot at the goal. Even better, Beat can graffiti the soccer ball as one of the fruits from the Crash series and Crash’s motivation will be amplified. It’s full proof! Crash is an excellent sweeper and will greatly help out the only character that I would have in the goal… I’ll give you a hint… BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
My goalie is none other than the King Koopa himself… BOWSER!
Tell me Bowser wouldn’t be a great goalie? He takes up most of the goal by size alone, he can roar loud enough to change the direction of the ball and have you seen Bowser in Mario Tennis? This big Koopa has moves! He can dive, scratch and claw his way to protecting the goal at all costs. In a shootout situation, Bowser’s intimidation techniques alone will send the soccer players running for the hills. His corner kicks will reach the other side of the field where Shadow and Beat can capitalize and score the goal.
I think I have put together a great team of characters for Pix to choose from! Do you agree with my picks? Who would you choose? Feel free to participate in the comments and write your own submission post to the contest. Pix is accepting submissions up until July 10th!
Calling All Bloggers, Calling All Bloggers! Adventure Rules is holding their 2nd Blogger Blitz competition and this time, the video game villains are ready to participate! This was a great experience last year and helped me launch my Memoirs of A Villain Posts! I encourage all bloggers to participate as a competitor or judge. Take a look at the rules below and goodluck!
Greetings, fight fans, and welcome to the sign-ups for the second annual Blogger Blitz competition. This year is all about changing things up from the original Blogger Blitz. Like infamous sequels such as Super Mario Bros 2, The Adventures of Link, Fire Emblem Gaiden, and more, we’re changing the game from the formula that put the competition on the map in the first place. As such, this year’s tournament is subtitled Black Sheep. This week, we’re gathering together the bloggers who wish to become a part of Black Sheep and make it a reality.
Here are the basics. Blogger Blitz is a single-elimination tournament where eight competitors (or possibly eight pairs of competitors) will sponsor a character from a video game, specifically a villain. Black Sheep is all about the bad guys! These villains will then compete in wacky events, events that this year were designed based on
