Hiya Players and Novas! You’ve read the title right, today you will have a double feature post! Things in November will be busy for me as I’m tackling the NaNoWriMo challenge so the post may not be a frequent as prior months. With that being the case I have less time to read posts and compose them so there may be reblogs of previous posts and posts from blogs that I follow.
Anyway, THANK YOU FOR 400 FOLLOWERS! This goal came and passes incredibly quickly and I am super thankful for all of you. As a treat, I will provide the synopsis of my NaNoWriMo novel and I need character names! Feel free to leave names for my characters and I may buse them in the book! I’ll definitely shout you out and acknowledge that it’s your character. Below is the synopsis and the character roles that I will need names for.
A kingdom in turmoil, an heiress’ position being challenged, a forced betrothal. Can Princess Ariana carry on the family dynasty of the House of Tamlin with a 16 year old secret looking to take everything away? Told through the eyes of household characters, a journal floats around the land. How will she cope? Will she survive? And will she ascend as the ruler of the kingdom? It is truly a dance with destiny!
Soooo it’s a time period drama piece. The characters I need are:
A Lady In Waiting with a zest for life
The Stable Boy
An Evil Uncle
Now for the October Recap! The month started really well but I think we fizzled out a bit. Let’s see the stats!
Surprisingly, even though our posts dwindled off at the end of the month, October was a better month than September! We had 1557 views, 761 visitors, 519 likes and 138 comments! Wow!
Here are the top 3 posts from the month if you missed them!
We had a few discussion posts but not as many as I would have liked
The Newsletter was not released because I’m still working on putting the format together. Now that we have the premium blog, I can integrate the newsletter option more smoothly.
Complete NaNoWriMo – Since we are in the month of November, I have been working on the NaNoWriMo challenge and my personal goal is to complete it!
1 Steam Game Review I have a few steam games that I have yet to play so I look to play them and write up a review this month (Thank you Thero159 for Offworld Trading Company and Amello!).
Post at least 3 times per week – The blog activity may not be as frequent as previous months because I’m focusing on NaNoWriMo, but I will try to have at least 3 posts per week for the month of November.
Those are my goals for November. There are not too many of them because, well you know NaNoWriMo lol. What are your current goals for November? Are you working on any special projects? Let’s talk goals!
Power Up Players, get your hard drives ready for another mobile video game review! This time we are reviewing the ball bouncing dot game Spurt Dot!
Spurt dot is an interactive brick breaking game in which the player taps the screen to break bricks, collect stars and avoid obstacles. The game has a great sense of a party as the colors are vibrant and the music in the background had me excited to play. There are 3 levels that will test the player’s skill and reaction times; Normal, Hard and Insane! Normal modes has a simple speed attached while Hard speeds up. Insane is just as it sounds, insanity for the quick reflexes of the challenger. I prefer the Normal mode lol.
Sights & Sounds: I enjoyed the simplistic design of the game. The colors are bright and vibrant so it is easy to spot where you will need to tap to control the ball. I really enjoyed the techno/ dance song that accompanies the game. It makes the task at hand feel like a party and increases the excitement.
Gameplay & Difficulty: The gameplay and controls are very easy. Tap the screen to bounce your ball while avoiding obstacles and pitfalls. You can rack up bonus points by collecting stars randomly marked on the colored bricks. Try and survive as long as possible! The different difficulty settings makes for a customized experience
Replayability: I can see Spurt Dot being a game that you can play when you have a few minutes of time to spare. Because of its simple design and unlimited play time, I find myself playing to see how long I can last. Currently my highest score for Normal difficulty is 54.
Final Thoughts:I did enjoy playing the game, however, it does seem endless. I know that is built by design but I would prefer to have goals set by the game. Maybe incorporate an arcade mode and a zen mode. The zen mode can be the endless tapping and race against your highest score and the arcade mode can be a set target where you reach a total score and move on. Maybe making it progressive where the speed, obstacles and pitfalls increase in difficulty. That would be awesome.
This is the section of the review where I note my top reasons to Play or Skip the mobile app!
Endless brick breaking fun (the classics are where it’s at!)
A chance to test your reflexes (and improve your skill) with the different game speeds
A quick game that’s pretty entertaining and great music
If you prefer progressive games that have a set goal
If you get frustrated with games that test your reflexes
Check out the trailer below and if you enjoy the review and the game seems interesting, you can download it by clicking here!
I give Spurt Dot 3 out of 5 Power-ups!
Thank you to Josh from Appamate for the chance to review the game! What do you think of Spurt Dot? Do you like brick breaking games? Are you a fan of endless but fun games? Let’s talk video games!
I am so excited for today’s post! Nintendo has recently released news about their newest mobile game app, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which is set to release sometime this month!
The game will be free to download for Apple/Android users with in-App purchases. Players will be able to create and manage a unique campsite for all of their animal friends to enjoy! I don’t know about you, but this sounds pretty awesome and different from most other games on the market already! The game will feature special events and will have updates through the course of the game.
Now, I only know of one person who is playing the Beta version of the game now and I hate them. I mean, I don’t hate them but like really, really, really, really dislike them. Yes, I am super jealous of them and even thought about stealing their phone so I could play and for it to be ALL MINE….. But I think they live in a different state now and that seems like a lot of trouble to go through, so I think I’ll just wait.
Pocket Camp will give players the chance to build furniture, create fun amenities like a Merry-go-Round or Half-Pipe for animal friends to enjoy, decorate your campsite and camper, gather fruit, collect bugs, make friends and earn rewards, and so much more! Whoo that was a lot to list. Basically, you want to have the coolest and most popular campsite so that way you and all of your animal friends can enjoy it together! As of now, you can pre-register to receive updates of when you will be able to download the game. Don’t worry, I have already pre-registered a few days ago!
I will be downloading this as soon as it releases and will totally post about my experience, my camp, and all the fun I am having with this game. I haven’t even played it yet and I already think it will be the best ever! I use to play Animal Crossing when it came out for the DS and the Wii so this will be interesting to have it on my phone. If you want to pre-register or learn more about the game, you can visit their site Animal Crossing here.
If you have any thoughts or are already playing the game, let me know in the comments down below!
Happy Wednesday Players and Happy November! It’s time for the National November Writer’s Month or NaNoWriMo challenge! Because I am planning to take part in the challenge (where I am tasked with writing 50,000 words on a novel) the month of November will be a bit different. I want to give a great effort for my first go round with the event. What that means is that the posts will most likely be lesser this month than normal. I would say may 3 posts or so a week. If you could like to add me on the NaNoWriMo website my username is Luna26x.
This week I have a few posts set up and they will go out sporadically. I have a game review for the mobile app SpurtDot set to go up most likely tomorrow. I have an update on the mibile game Sky Island coming out soon and the Memoirs of a Villain post is being worked on as well. Lastly, I was nominated for the Perfectly Imperfect tag by Mahddyboy last week. My response and nominations of that post will be up sometime within the next week as well. I will try and have consistent content but Call of Duty WWII also releases this week soooo…. I’m going to be playing the game all weekend lol.
Also, whenever my WWE Slam Crate for this month arrives I will have an unboxing post as well. I’m excited because this month we receive an Alexa Bliss shirt and the final connecting piece to my attitude era ring (currently I have Stoine Cold Steve Austin, Triple H and the Undertaker)! While I am focusing on the writing challenge, I may reblog some of my favorite pieces of work from the year. If you have mised anything, make sure to check out the posts!
What are you up to this week? Is anyone participating in the NaNoWriMo Challenege? Let’s talk current projects!
